Union Park

The flat is really modern. It is not the most spacious flat but it is big enough.
The design is great and everything seems of good quality.
I like we got large windows. The view could be better as I’m facing the car park but it depends on the location, as some lucky flats are facing the canal.
We got a parking space too but an issue is random people keep parking on our space, which is really annoying.

Please tell us what you like and dislike about this area:

There are really good transport links. It’s great the town center is about 10 minutes away.
I really like the walkway by the canal, and there are really nice pubs down that road.
in general the area feels very safe, as we even got security in the development.

Please share one thing (or more) which you wish you had known before you moved in:

Something I wish I had known before moving in is that the oven is not a proper oven. It’s like a microwave oven so it’s not the best.
I also wish I had known about the issue with the parking space.

How has the building management responded to any problems or issues you have raised:

Building management has been great. When our dish washer wasn’t working we told Alex, the security man, and someone came to fix it in 20minutes.

Unique friendly community in a great location.

Great friendly community feel, Mayo the concierge has been here since the day it was built and looks out for everyone – as well as keeping people in line who aren’t behaving in a neighbourly way!
Very secure due to gates and 24hr on-site staff, occasionally a bike gets nicked from the car park but we don’t have to worry about the security of our actual flats.
Lots of long term residents mean that we tend to know our neighbours and help each other out. Used to be a bit of a party block but those days are gone, a good mix of people including young families and older people means that everyone appreciates considerate behaviour.
Build quality varies, some flats have had trouble with leaks and inexplicably high electricity bills, but most don’t and are pretty well built compared to other places we’ve lived.

Please tell us what you like and dislike about this area:

Likes: transport links, Overground line one way and jubilee / dlr / central line from Stratford so can usually get home even on a strike day.
Superb range of restaurants and bars within 15 minutes walk, or 20 to the endless options at Westfield Stratford.
Surrounded by parks – Olympic park, Victoria Park, Hackney Marshes, so popular with dog owners.
Great, brand new schools over the canal in the Olympic park.

Please share one thing (or more) which you wish you had known before you moved in:

If you have a car, you need to buy a flat with a parking space. Street parking outside is risky crime wise and the council don’t make it easy to get permits!

Great design

I like the flat is really modern and spacious. I love the design as they chose nice neutral colours. I also really like we got underfloor heating.
It’s quite soundproof keeping out noise coming from other flats, but we can still hear outside noise, though.
Parking is not great as it is just one space per flat.
Building management has been really good as we had some issues with the TV cables, and they fixed it in less than 24hours.

Please tell us what you like and dislike about this area:

I really like been next to the canal. It’s ideal to walk down, and there are really nice pubs.
There are lots of supermarkets and Uxbridge town centre is quite close so it’s good.
We also got a free shuttle bus to west Drayton station which is great.
The area is really quiet and peaceful, and it feels quite safe.

Please share one thing (or more) which you wish you had known before you moved in:

I wish I had known we could just get Sky plus but not sky Q here.

How has the building management responded to any problems or issues you have raised:

Building management has been great and efficient solving any issues we have had.

Peaceful development

I’m very happy with my flat. Everything is new and I’ve been living here for a week. The toilets are very nice. The flat is very modern and spacious.
Everything is well maintained. Even the communal gardens are very nice and green.
We got security till the evening which is also really good.
I just like how peaceful it feels living here.

Please tell us what you like and dislike about this area:

It’s really easy to live here. It’s such a peaceful area. The park is nearby which is great. And also the waterside.
There are also shops down the road. You need to walk a bit but it’s not too bad. Maybe about 5minutes.
West Drayton Station is about a 20minute walk away which is great, or even 7minutes by bus.
Overall I’m happy with the location.

Please share one thing (or more) which you wish you had known before you moved in:

I knew everything before moving in so there were no surprises.

What is the best feature of your home:

I would say the best feature of my home is how quiet and calm everything feels around here.
