Wonderful rural idol

The design of the development is wonderful with lots of open space and access to the public footpaths. I also like that some of the original WW2 buildings have been adapted and used as accommodation or for sheltered parking. We even have our own war memorial to remember those how paid the ultimate price. The property management appears very good but the landscape maintenance has not yet been handed over the company by the developer, so it is too early to comment on that aspect. A bad point would be that there is very little topsoil on the front and rear gardens so much of the grass is dying, this is a great shame and detracts from the otherwise lovely layout. The houses are expensive and would should expect decent ground preparation and turfing.

Please tell us what you like and dislike about this area:

The great thing about living on Hayfield green is without doubt the location. Wonderfully rural and a part of the ancient village which has fantastic history. Also its good to know that a Brownfield site (Ex RAF Stanton Harcourt) has been utilised rather than green belt. There is a local newsagent who also stocks emergency items, however there is a new bus service to Eynsham and all the large supermarkets deliver here anyway. Witney is only 7 Miles away for shopping and Oxford is about the same for the theatre. The local Pub “The Harcourt Arms” is a lovely place with wonderful food. It is very quiet here with only the odd passing plane from RAF Brize Norton but they are pretty infrequent and surprisingly quiet. The lack of street lights means you get a wonderful starry night too. Bin collections are normal and parking is not currently an issue with houses having at least room to park 2 cars and other visitor parking is available off the road. There has been a small amount of anti-social behaviour but residents here do not put up with this and report it straight away and this has now abated. We are close to many public footpaths and the river Thames is only 1 mile away. I love it here and it is the best place I have ever lived.

Please share one thing (or more) which you wish you had known before you moved in:

I would have liked to have had a detailed explanation on the operation of the Air Source Heat Pump system. The housing association staff had no idea about it and the plumbers who fitted it also had little knowledge.
I would say that as the house is highly insulated this ASHP system works well.

How has the building management responded to any problems or issues you have raised:

Yes I had some snagging and this has been dealt with to my satisfaction

Very bad experience-wouldn’t but from them again..

Sales staff very pushy and lied to us..
Covenants stated and enforced on early purchases..then standards let slip when site was nearly fully sold..
Concept very good-computer generate graphics very realistic.
Poor customer service-poor finishing of estate..
Snagging list of over 40 concerns -18 months to resolve.
Developer offers bribes to get 5 star NHBC rating..
Developer has cut corners with landscaping-covering large concrete slabs and site road with minimal top soil.
Roads and paths have been dug up several times for rectification work-now the paths are a patch work of tarmac..

Please tell us what you like and dislike about this area:

Good-quiet, countryside nearby, good village, very good local pub..
Bad-no public transport, management of social housing residents.

Please share one thing (or more) which you wish you had known before you moved in:

Bad-the lack of customer care. The truth about efficiency of the home..

How has the building management responded to any problems or issues you have raised:

No-snagging list only resolved with constant chasing and calling the services directly

Lovely Silsoe location

Lovely development with a range of different style houses, although social housing has been spread out amongst the development and we have had a small amount of disturbances from some of these houses. Renz box available to have your parcels delivered to just in case you’re not home!
Design of houses is amazing, really modern. Amazing quality and lovely fixtures and fittings! Would definitely recommend hayfield to friends and family

Please tell us what you like and dislike about this area:

Some great local amenities, a nursery and great school! Lovely walks around the village and Wrest park. And very near to other nice villages and big towns. Nearest station is flitwick, which is just 10 minute drive.
One downside is the lack of restaurants available on just eat (very important to some) but I guess that’s what comes with living in a nice rural village.

Please share one thing (or more) which you wish you had known before you moved in:

The lack of takeaway options and no Deliveroo or Uber (taxis) available!

How has the building management responded to any problems or issues you have raised:

Very quick and friendly service, problems are always sorted with upmost care

Better than other builders, perhaps?

Hayfield Homes marketing literature is aspirational hyperbole.
Hayfield Homes may appear to be desirable on the surface but underneath is little of true substance.
The homes are typically snag ridden and snag resolution is a convoluted and laborious process.

Please tell us what you like and dislike about this area:

The Good
The Harcourt Arms
The countryside
The sense of space

The Bad
The lack of a proper shop
The poor public transport
The inconsiderate dog owners

And The Ugly
The discarded building materials
The unkempt pathways
The adjacent landfill site

Please share one thing (or more) which you wish you had known before you moved in:

How slow many aspects would be and how promises would not be honoured.

How has the building management responded to any problems or issues you have raised:

Not applicable. Not required. No response needed. Unnecessary.
