Battersea Power Station Development Company reviews

“Good: location, gym, views, consistent aesthetic, food. Great coffee, food bars, and grocery stores right below me. The area is quite picturesque and very conveniently close to Battersea Park.” – David N, verified resident of Battersea Power Station

“High class development with luxury level amenities including swimming pool, sauna, steam bath, jacuzzi, gym with all sorts of fitness equipment, studios, even a treatment room. Build quality is above standard, residents are generally of high status, so very little needs to be said with regards to antisocial behaviour. Restaurants in vicinity are also equally of high standard, and a good variety of food is available.” – Calvin, verified resident of Battersea Power Station.

Living with an icon of London

We are really happy at BPS. The flats are modern and well built and amenities are plenty. The best part about this area however is the community feeling of BPS. Also, having guests over is always exiting as there is always a lot to explain and talk about the iconic pier station right at our doorstep, I think there are few developments in London with this kind of heritage. Overall great place to live.

Please tell us what you like and dislike about this area:

I really enjoy the proximity to Battersea Park which is great for a run. You have to be aware that BPS still is a massive construction site which comes with noise.

Please share one thing (or more) which you wish you had known before you moved in:

One thing I would’ve liked to know before moving in is the quite high standing charges of Vital Energy which is the only option for heating and cooling in the building.

What is the best feature of your home:

Best feature of our home are the views from our apartment. We are quite high up and can see the sunset which is a massive bonus for me 🙂

Nightmare Experience and Incompetent Management at Battersea Power Station Development

As a deeply unsatisfied resident, I feel compelled to share my horrific experience living in the Battersea Power Station Development. It has been nothing short of a nightmare, and I strongly advise potential buyers to steer clear of this ill-fated place. The management’s incompetence and blatant dishonesty have made living here a constant source of frustration and disappointment.

One of the most egregious examples of their deceit is their false promises regarding the facilities provided. They have shamelessly lied to residents, tenants, and owners about amenities that they simply do not deliver. Phase 3 of the development supposedly offered a gym, but it turned out to be a disaster waiting to happen. The floors gave in within the first two weeks of opening, revealing a total lack of care for the safety of residents. It is absolutely unacceptable to have such shoddy construction in a residential building.

To add insult to injury, the rooftop pool that was meant to be a perk for Phase 3 residents has been snatched away and allocated to a hotel within the development. This means that residents in Phase 3 have been denied access to pool facilities altogether. It is an utter betrayal of trust and a blatant disregard for the needs and expectations of the people who call this place home.

The poor quality of the build is evident throughout the development. It has become a common occurrence for bathroom floors to collapse and kitchen doors to fall off. These are not isolated incidents but rather a reflection of the substandard craftsmanship that permeates the entire building. It is disheartening to witness the deterioration of our living spaces and the constant need for repairs.

Savilles, the managing company, epitomizes incompetence and indifference. They refuse to meet with residents to address our concerns, effectively ignoring the hundreds of letters we have sent to them. Their lack of action and accountability is appalling and demonstrates a complete disregard for the well-being and satisfaction of the people they are supposed to serve.

Living in this development has been an endless source of stress, harassment, and disappointment. Far from experiencing any sense of accomplishment or peace, I can guarantee that buying into this development will only bring you anguish. Most residents share my sentiments, and it is shocking to see any positive reviews of this place.

In conclusion, the Battersea Power Station Development has been a colossal failure on multiple fronts. The management’s incompetence, dishonesty, and lack of care for residents’ safety and well-being are glaringly evident. Save yourself the trouble, and look elsewhere for a place that values its residents and delivers on its promises.

Please tell us what you like and dislike about this area:

Battersea Power Station Development benefits from its central location. The proximity to the Battersea Power Station underground station, only a 2-minute walk away, provides convenient transportation options. The short distance to Chelsea and the availability of numerous shops and restaurants in the area make it convenient for residents.

However, living within a shopping center has its drawbacks, and the management’s incompetence exacerbates the issues. The development attracts a large influx of visitors daily, posing a significant safety risk. Unfortunately, Savills, the management company, has failed to adequately staff the security team, leaving residents vulnerable to potential security breaches. During events such as the recent Gumball 3000, non-residents managed to gain access to resident-only facilities, further compromising the safety and privacy of residents.

One particular facility that showcases this mismanagement is the paid playground, well-equipped but lacking measures to prioritize resident usage. Despite residents contributing to its maintenance, there are no mechanisms in place to ensure their priority access. As a result, the playground is constantly overcrowded, often not even by children but by teenagers engaging in antisocial behavior. The security personnel assigned to the area appear helpless, merely standing by and observing due to being outnumbered. It is disheartening to witness such a lack of control and protection within our own community.

In summary, while the Battersea Power Station Development enjoys a central location with easy access to transportation and nearby amenities, the mismanagement by Savills and the resultant safety issues mar the experience. The influx of visitors and the lack of security staffing poses significant risks, especially during events, and compromises the privacy and well-being of residents. Furthermore, the failure to prioritize resident usage of paid facilities, such as the playground, leads to overcrowding and unruly behavior. It is truly disheartening to witness the neglect and disregard for residents’ safety and quality of life in what should have been a thriving and secure community.

Please share one thing (or more) which you wish you had known before you moved in:

In hindsight, I deeply regret not being aware of the true challenges of living in this development. From a distance, it may appear appealing, but the reality is that it lacks substance and fails to deliver on the promises of luxury living. The numerous issues, ranging from incompetent management to poor construction and a lack of proper facilities, make this experience worse than living in a student hall. The frustrations and disappointments outweigh any perceived benefits, and it is disheartening to realize that what was meant to be a dream living situation has turned into a never-ending nightmare. I implore anyone considering this development to thoroughly research and consider all aspects before making a decision, as the reality falls far short of the expectations of a truly luxurious living experience.

How has the building management responded to any problems or issues you have raised:

My personal experience with the management agents, Battersea Power Station Development, has been nothing short of a nightmare. They have proven themselves to be the epitome of incompetence and negligence. One incident that perfectly illustrates their disregard for residents’ concerns is the persistent issue of poor construction in the building, particularly concerning drainage problems in the sink. When I reported this matter to the building management, a woman named Jess responded in a rude and dismissive manner. She callously claimed that it was not the responsibility of the landlord to address the broken drainage and suggested that I hire a plumber at my own expense. This response is not only unacceptable but also highlights their lack of accountability and unwillingness to fulfill their obligations as property managers.

Living in the development under the management of Battersea Power Station Development severely hampers one’s peace of mind. Their behavior and dismissive attitude towards residents’ concerns make it clear that they prioritize profit over the well-being of those living within the development. Their practices border on being unethical, and I strongly believe that they should be thoroughly investigated for their exploitative and negligent behavior. It is disheartening to realize that we are being subjected to the whims of such cowboy landlords who show no regard for their tenants’ rights or the quality of the living environment.

In conclusion, the management agents at Battersea Power Station Development have proven themselves to be the worst I have ever encountered. Their refusal to address building issues, such as poor construction and drainage problems, and their dismissive attitude towards residents’ concerns demonstrate their incompetence and negligence. Living under their management is a constant source of stress and frustration, and their actions make it clear that they prioritize profit over the well-being of residents. I strongly urge anyone considering this development to be wary of the unprofessional and exploitative practices of Battersea Power Station Development as their choice of property management agents.

Do not believe this place is luxury – it’s worse than student hall

This development is an utter disaster. We recently moved in to a brand new building, where 3 bedroom flat sells for around £2.5m, making it one of the most prestige and expensive buildings in London. With this price tag you expect luxury quality of living. You are given a lot of brochures and photos of what facilities you’ll have access to (luxury pool, spa, gym, cinema, resident’s room, roof gardens etc). The reality is none of these facilities are ready and available. The top management are unable to provide any certain dates when those will be available.

Worst of all – the building itself is not ready for residents. We’ve been here for almost 3 months and our lifts were broken every single day. Being on the 12th floor it is impossible to walk up, especially with small children, prams, buggies, scooters. We complained to the management, but nothing has been done except continuous apologies. The number of times we had to rescue other residents who got stuck in lifts is extreme. Our own babysitter got stuck there with a 1 year old child for over half an hour. No emergency buttons worked.

Then we came across another major problem – black mould started to appear in our brand new apartment. Turns out the pipework under the bath was not connected, and the water just poured on the floor for several weeks, flooding the hallway and parts of the living room. We thought it was our bad luck, but then discovered than at least 5 other apartments were affected by exact same issue. The management tried hard to cover up and present this to us that we were the only ones with this problem. Luckily we managed to get contacts of all other residents and discovered the truth.

Our “luxury” car park looks like a complete building site.

In a few words, please do not make mistake by moving in here: this development is nowhere near ready and considering the speed of their actions, it needs another 2-3 years to have all the facilities in place and all basic problems resolved.

Please tell us what you like and dislike about this area:

The area itself is great – you have most of the facilities a modern family required: great schools within walking distance, nurseries, supermarkets, shops, cafes, restaurants, cinemas, massive park (Battersea Park) with plenty of playgrounds.

Please share one thing (or more) which you wish you had known before you moved in:

Lifts are not working every day, if I would have known that I would have never moved in here.
Facilities are not available to us, despite being pre-sold.

How has the building management responded to any problems or issues you have raised:

The management here is certainly not proactive one. Prepare to hear continuous “please bear with us”, “please accept our apologies”, but no action will be taken and therefore you won’t see any results or real improvement.
