Good value for money but not perfect

Street is wide and houses are spaced reasonably. Not one of those crammed up developments when one house is next to another

We lived for 2 years and we are still waiting for the trees promised by developer (and included in the front garden plans) to be planted. It’s very unsustainable to build 100 houses and not plant a single tree:( Site management fee is an expensive joke that no one can understand – they show up twice a year to butcher the grass and leave the grass cuttings behind.

Staff at Ashwood is always helpful and friendly but those two things are something that they can seem to be able to help with.

Please tell us what you like and dislike about this area:

Close to necessary amenities, parks, schools shops. Loads of places for nice walks. Driveways are reasonable size so we never struggle with parking, but I think k it depends on a plot you choose.

Please share one thing (or more) which you wish you had known before you moved in:

Back garden gets left very messy if you don’t pay for grass.

What is the best feature of your home:

Decent size, well equipped kitchen and big garden

Average build but with lovely design and good costumer support

House design is lovely with a nice large garden. No facilities within the development. Small green areas that are unkept and no landscape design although a significant management fee is paid every year.
Quality of the build itself average to poor possibly due to quality of materials. House is sold with bare minimum as any changes are ext cost so no special or luxurious details or extras. Clean basic house.
Good costumer support throughout though for any major problems.

Please tell us what you like and dislike about this area:

Lovely small amenities 15min walk away (basic shops, groceries,etc..). Lovely park in town but not other smaller parks or footpaths around for walking and taking dogs out. Very difficult parking as streets quite narrow. Peaceful community, low traffic, quiet area.

Please share one thing (or more) which you wish you had known before you moved in:

Quality of dirt in the garden makes gardening and landscaping extreme difficult so count with extra budget for that.

What is the best feature of your home:

Nice build plan with good space areas. Would benefit from more storage space/solutions

Lovely homes in a lovely location.

The buildings themselves are nicely laid out and planned and completed to a fairly reasonable standard. Communal greens spaces have been thought out quite nicely. The gardens themselves could have been prepared better as quite a lot of garden plots became dumping grounds for building waste and do become quite sodden due to the amount of clay and not enough ground preparation being undertaken. Overall the houses are very nice.

Please tell us what you like and dislike about this area:

There are a variety of shops and boutiques with plenty of takeaways. There is a beautifully designed park area with one section designed for younger children and one for older children, as an extension of that there is also a local skate park. There are plenty of dog walks around with most path areas being looked after by local people. We also have a lovely cafe, butchers and barbershop and hairdressing shop. To be honest there is everything in this village within walking distance. We also have good transport links with busses heading towards Spalding and Boston for those bigger shops. Most people are very friendly and say good morning if they see you. There are also regular jumble sales for those that love a bargain too with plenty of activities in the Ruby hunt Centre for the baby/toddler stage. Donington itself is a lovely place to live and fairly quiet for such a large village. There are always a few people that will spoil it by leaving litter etc however we do have plenty of volunteer litter pickers around. I would say that this village would benefit from a cash machine as that appears to be the only thing missing here that could be helpful as some places are still cash only. We did seem to have a spat of anti social behaviour but that stemmed mainly from two local households whom have now been removed from the village.

Please share one thing (or more) which you wish you had known before you moved in:

I would like to have known how many more houses were being built within the area as the construction traffic could cause a bit of commotion especially during the school run hours.

What is the best feature of your home:

I would say the garden is the best feature. Effectively it is a lovely blank canvas which you can really put your own stamp on.

Ashwood have been great, any snag or problems they have sorted or advised.

No issues at all.
Ashwood have been great, any snag or problems they have sorted or advised.
Kind and friendly staff. The development has been well thought out. Plenty of space m, many new estates house appear on top of each other.

A little slow on the final landscaping of the development, that’s my only criticism.

Please tell us what you like and dislike about this area:

Crowland is a lovely small town, It’s developing and growing very quickly. The one down side is the local shops won’t be able to cope with such growth, I’m sure it’s only a matter of time until we see a supermarket appear.
Our street is spacious, quite and once finished will have some nice green area’s.

Please share one thing (or more) which you wish you had known before you moved in:

How long the development was going to take.
The final landscaping still hasn’t been finished, but they have stared 2/3 more sites in the area.

What is the best feature of your home:

Space in and around our house.
Rooms are big compared to some new builds.
