New block of flats in Acton

Where is Acton?

It sits within the borough of Ealing in sophisticated West London, close to the glamorous neighbourhoods of Chiswick and Kew.

What’s Acton like?

Full of green spaces, for one. Acton Park has tennis courts, a bowling green and a minigolf course known as Putt in The Park. Gunnersbury Park boasts 20 football pitches, 15 tennis courts and a cricket area. In addition, Wormwood Scrubs has a pony club, a sports stadium and a handful of nature reserves. All offer cafés and play areas for little ones, too.

The High Street is the lifeblood of the area. Expect the usual contenders (such as McDonalds and Morrison’s) along with more interesting independent butchers, delis and wine bars. There’s a great selection of listed pubs here, too. Local favourites include The George & Dragon (regular live music) and the Belvedere (big screen for sports).

Acton Market is a local institution. It’s based on Crown Street Fridays through Sundays, and its long-term vendors sell fresh fruit and veg, street food and antiques.

Getting to and from Acton

The area literally has a different station for every day of the week. East, North and West Acton are Underground stations served by the Central line, and you can catch District and Piccadilly line tubes from Acton Town. Acton Central and South Acton are on the Overground, while Acton Main Line offers National Rail services – and pretty soon, Crossrail. In other words, you couldn’t be better connected.

Where are the best places to live in Acton?

Acton’s property scene encompasses tree-lined avenues of Victorian and Edwardian properties, brand new apartment buildings and converted warehouses (the area was once an industrial hub for the motor industry).

One of the best places to live in Acton, according to reviewers on HomeViews is Tech West Lofts, a warehouse conversion of 48 stylish homes by De Vere Partners. Another Cinderella story is Field Day Developments’ Long Island Lofts – a beautifully converted Art Deco building near Acton Park.

“I’ve been living here for 3 years, and I really love it. It’s a great building and overall everything is perfect for me. I live here on my own and the whole apartment is incredibly spacious. Every room is amazing and big enough for me! The caretakers within the building are really nice and helpful, they’re understanding too, all really great.” – Ijeoma, verified resident at Tech West Lofts

“The quality is top notch, almost faultless. 2 very big bedrooms and open plan kitchen and living room. I even have an en-suite, so sweet! A pipe burst at one point so couldn’t shower for a day but it was fixed quickly, that’s my only complaint about this amazing apartment!” – Amelia, resident at Long Island Lofts

“Nice flat in London in a nice area with a park view that you can come back to and chill. Public transport is good and there have been some new public amenities promised – like a coffee shop – which would really benefit the area, somewhere to hang out in before or after taking the kids to the park.” – Monika, verified resident at Acton Gardens

Prospective buyers and those looking to rent in Acton, can look forward to onsite parking and apartments in close proximity to four tube stations with Bellway’s Acton Square.

“The building management is good and efficient. The apartments are good value for money. The area has a nice feel to it. There are lots of shops nearby that shut late which is very convenient for me. The buildings are all modern and up to date.” – Anon, verified resident at Acton Square

Great Building and Team

The area is very convenient for those who work in the city and enjoy getting into central quickly. The area is fairly quiet but has many facilities locally. The only bad part is the people who hang around the tube station, and the condition of the outside areas of the tube station

Please review your development:

I have lived at the building just under 3 years and have enjoyed it with minimal complaints from myself. The gym has finally been built, which was a facility promised from when I moved in, however, the additional ones look like they won’t be happening. The team who look after the property are great, no complaints at all.

Please share one thing (or more) which you wish you had known before you moved in:

Amenities, how long they would take and the realistic expectations of what would be delivered

How has the building management responded to any problems or issues you have raised:

Yes, they responded very quickly and made sure we was compensated

Great property! Lovely Location and amenities!

The area is developing as we speak, there are new shops and stores opening every other month, along with major new residential buildings. Local shops include Tesco, Sainsbury’s and Tian Tian Market. Transport links are great with North Acton Central Line station just 2 mins walk away, 18-20mins to central london; as well as Acton Mainline Elizabeth Line station around 12-15 mins walk away.
Parking is a bit of a problem in the area with no on street parking, the only parking is the underground allocated parking which has a long wait list.

Please review your development:

The property is great. There’s a 24/7 concierge at the reception always there to help. All parcels go to the parcel room downstairs and you always get an email when you have a new parcel. There’s an onsite gym as well as communal gardens and a communal root top at the 12 floor.

Please share one thing (or more) which you wish you had known before you moved in:

Availability of parking is a bit of a pain. We’ve been on the waiting list for a couple of months with no end in sight!

How has the building management responded to any problems or issues you have raised:

They’re always quick and efficient to respond. Repairs and maintenance for fixtures and fittings is done promptly.

Great for city workers

Review Date May 2024

Area is perfect for those commuting into the city for work and has the playing field local. It does lack in terms of bars/venues within the immediate vicinity but has great transport links to get there with the central line and Elizabeth line

Please review your development:

The design of the building is really nice, it looks nice from the outside and makes sense on the inside. The gym has recently opened but remaining facilities are yet to be seen. The team are great, any queries get dealt with efficiently and they are always available on the other end of the phone. So, no worries from me

Please share one thing (or more) which you wish you had known before you moved in:

The waiting time for amenities and other facilities

How has the building management responded to any problems or issues you have raised:

Any problems which have been raised have been dealt with swiftly and followed up on

I have no complaints about the design of my flat or the buildings

Review Date May 2024

I have now been in my flat for over two years and I absolutely love it. Chiswick high street is a 10 minute walk, as is Acton town centre. The transport links via tube and bus are brilliant, London is extremely accessible from either Acton Town or South Acton stations. I have seen very little anti-social behaviour during my time here and feel very comfortable living here.

Please review your development:

I have no complaints about the design of my flat or the buildings, which, in my experience, have always been kept very clean. Property management/those who work on maintenance are always friendly and happy to have a conversation. The on-site gym opposite sainsburys is a massive bonus now.

Please share one thing (or more) which you wish you had known before you moved in:

The under-floor heating – if left off for a long period of time – can stop working. This is especially frustrating in winter as the heating hasn’t been on over summer and has required a fix both years. The heating pump can become stuck if not used regularly and the advice from the engineer is to run the heating at least once a week, even in summer.

What is the best feature of your home:

My space feels very comfortable, it is a nice spacious one-bed flag and the bathroom, living room and bedroom are all perfect in my opinion.
