Not bad but could be better

Lots of cars parked on the road on the development itself, suggests poor planning. No bars or restaurants nearby but good links to motorway and dual carriageway. Plenty of shops nearby. Plenty of buses. Lots of littering, encouraged by the site not cleaning up after themselves. The area itself isn’t bad but has a reputation as not being a desirable place to live. We do have a nice view over the valley.

Please review your development:

Often very slow to respond to issues. Poor communication between site team and customer care team and also with contractors. Good design in terms of houses and gardens not overlooking each other, however there is a problem at one end of the development with lots of parking on the road so you can’t see round the corner. Poor grounds keeping, lots of areas are just overgrown with weeds. They mow the weeds every few weeks but no attempts to grass. House is very well designed in general with good layout but en suite is poorly designed with wasted space and badly positioned fittings.

Please share one thing (or more) which you wish you had known before you moved in:

The plumbers they use are cowboys. Use a professional snagging company to find where the plumbers have cut corners, and find a decent plumber yourself.

What is the best feature of your home:

The general layout is great. The home feels light and airy and is sensibly laid out.

Local bars and shops are limited in the immediate area for now, but i’s definitely up & coming. We see new sites almost every month.

Please review your development:

The development is nice and quiet (when construction work allows). It’s got plenty of green space around and great access to several nearby amenities and transport links. We really love the walking trails in our area, and we can’t wait for the green spaces on our streets to be finished.

Please share one thing (or more) which you wish you had known before you moved in:

Wish we’d known that our electric car charger point was going to be a 3-pin rather than what we thought would be a full on car plug.

What is the best feature of your home:

It’s cost and spacious without a huge cost or footprint.

Bus routes available to town centre
Local garage within walking distance but other shops are a fair walk away
Quiet development, no trouble

Please review your development:

Houses and layout of the development are great. Still some tidying to do as still being built. Green areas need to be sorted as some are just left to be wild and litter everywhere.
Site manager is good, customer services need a lot of chasing to get issues sorted. Took nearly a year to get snagging elements sorted

Please share one thing (or more) which you wish you had known before you moved in:

How far next doors drive covers my front window. The green space infront and how long this would take to sort

What is the best feature of your home:

The layout of the house, kitchen and bathroom. Spacious hall way

Good transport links with the M1 so close. Lots of local shops, a few bars and restaurants but could be more – it’s lucky that chesterfield is so close.

Outside the estate is quite rough but on the estate is nice with lots of parking and limited noise.

Please review your development:

We went with Lovell due to value for money and on the whole the house is well built.

But like many others we’ve had so many problems in trying to get our snags sorted including chasing Customer Care multiple times. I even wrote a complaint, which I then had to chase for a reply! Lovell’s Customer Care team are shocking, we moved in 16 months ago and we still have snags outstanding from BEFORE we moved in. You don’t get anywhere unless you chase.

Please share one thing (or more) which you wish you had known before you moved in:

How much we’d have to chase Customer Care for a response.

What is the best feature of your home:

The upstairs layout, it is lovely and spacious and a great space.
