Great design throughout the whole property plenty of thought has been put into the plans.love the built in wardrobes , great idea of lootility and layout. I have a little dog so the secure and privacy of the garden is really important for me and being able to watch her whilst she is outside.

Nice place to live, but needs facilities

The Northstowe development is a very nice place to live. The green space aspects are very nice and well maintained. Additional work needs to be completed in terms of finishing the roads properly and also the construction of local facilities (there are currently none).

Please tell us about the good and bad aspects of living in your local area:

Close to, and easy to commute into, Cambridge. Green Space is good - lakes that have been constructed are very nice. Roads need to be finsihed and properly maintained though.

How has the building management responded to any problems or issues you have raised:

All reported problems were dealt with quickly. It was very easy to report problems .

Please share one thing (or more) which you wish you had known before you moved in:

When local facilities will be developed, this is still unknown.

I have been extremely impressed with the design of my property as there is plenty of storage space. Very well insulated which is a boon given current utility bills. David Wilson have been extremely good with any queries or snagging that I had. However, the landscaping was not up to a reasonable standard; in in fact I would say it is quite poor. However, I would certainly buy from this developer again and would definitely recommend.

Please tell us about the good and bad aspects of living in your local area:

I believe local shops etc are still to be provided. There is a definite need. So easy to get to Cambridge by bus which is a 10 minute walk away. Hardly any need for a car. The parking is plentiful but, and it is a big but, the speeding of vehicles along Wellington Road is at times verging on the extremely dangerous. Speed limits should be established and signs erected straight away with cameras sited. Or instal better speed humps than those already there which require no slowing of vehicles at all! Bin collections are regular and efficient. Friendly neighbours.

How has the building management responded to any problems or issues you have raised:

As soon as I raised any queries with the building management, they were dealt with very promptly and to my complete satisfaction.

Please share one thing (or more) which you wish you had known before you moved in:

The ease of getting to and from Cambridge and surrounding areas would have influenced my car buying choice. Only really negative comment is the speeding along the road (some of which is by building vans, lorries, delivery lorries).

We really enjoy a peaceful, relaxed, and charming "edge of the village" living situation :)

We had a new build inspector (privately hired) come in and check our David Wilson home before we completed. He pointed on a list of snags, but also said that the overall build quality was "well above average" which was quite encouraging. We like our house. BPHA has been helpful with questions as we have done different projects in and around the house.

Please tell us about the good and bad aspects of living in your local area:

We love the area. In the David Wilson section, we are right by the big green, a playground for our kids, and a short pleasant walk along a gravel and dirt path through the woods into Longstanton. It is a really charming and peaceful place to live and we are really enjoying it. The design of our neighborhood is nice and you feel like you are on the edge of the village in our area. As far as restaurants and shops go ... It would be nice to have a grocery store right in Northstowe, but there is Tesco in Bar Hill which is not too far and there is the local co-op. There are some nice restaurants around, Faroz in Longstanton, Black Bull Pub, and then some in nearby villages and St. Ives, etc. More local shops would be nice in Northstowe, but I also like the village feel. The busway is quite convenient for transport into town, whether cycling or riding the bus. It is actually easier in some cases to get into Cambridge than it was when we lived closer to town. I like our location, not far from the big green and a really pleasant and charming walk into Longstanton.

How has the building management responded to any problems or issues you have raised:

BPHA/Domovo has been helpful as we have asked questions about various things. They've been good.

Please share one thing (or more) which you wish you had known before you moved in:

We wish we had known how many logistical details there would have been in moving during covid times (as we moved during the middle of the winter).

Northstowe- could be great

The design of the development is pretty boring, however the developers made sure that at least2 kinds of houses are there. In some places you can't really decide if it was meant to be a road or a pavement. The facility management company is reasonable, if something is raised they at least consider it. The builders are good at cleaning the roads, the cleaning truck goes up and down the street at least 10 times a day.

Please tell us about the good and bad aspects of living in your local area:

Northstowe is a completely new development, currently doesn't have any shops or restaurants, however we have regular food trucks with exciting and interesting choices which is arranged by the community. We have great access to the guided bus and close proximity to the A14. Noise wise is getting a bit busier, but it's generally peaceful. We have a local primary school an a secondary school with SEN. Bins are collected regularly and most homes have 2 parking spaces each. The leisure facilities in Northstowe are now almost fully completed, we have parks, sports fields and playgrounds.

Please share one thing (or more) which you wish you had known before you moved in:

It has taken the developers to construct a playground 2 years and any community facilities are expected to take so much longer than it was promised. Very disappointing.
