Gallions Point is part of the mixed-use Gallions Quarter development by Telford Homes. It comprises of 127 apartments. In addition, there is commercial space and landscaped courtyard gardens for residents to use. The development is located next to Gallions Reach DLR station, and near to Royal Albert Dock. Nearby Custom House will soon be home to a new Crossrail station.

This is a much smaller development than many others with only 11 floors and less properties than you’d expect from a building of this footprint. The properties have been designed with large windows in every room to make the most of the location and light. The properties are well finished with ample space and high specification bathrooms and kitchen white goods. The property benefits from a concierge which is reassuring from a security aspect but also useful as they can accept post in your absence. There is a secure cycle store on the lower level.

Please tell us what you like and dislike about this area:

It’s a new area and is rapidly developing. Beckton and Gallions Reach shopping centre are only a 20 minute walk and both easily accessible and there is a new Co-op opening in the building which will be convenient. Very convenient location with Canary Wharf only 15 minutes away on the DLR and easy connections onward to Central London through the Jubilee line at Canning Town. The Docks area stretches past Royal Albert Wharf to Excel and is pedestrianised and makes for a pleasant walk or cycle.

Please share one thing (or more) which you wish you had known before you moved in:

I would be interested to know the plans to entice more shops and restaurants to the immediate area. Whilst there are good restaurants within a 20 minute journey it would be great to see more closer to home.

What is the best feature of your home:

Whilst so close to transport links and London city airport the property is incredibly quiet and makes the best use of space and light.

Love the flat and the design. Very modern and very new. Some slight design flaws where the living room light isn’t directly by the door but further in but I don’t mind that. Also you have to close the lid of the toilet to flush the toilet but again not a problem for me. Also the fan in the bathroom for some reason still doesn’t work but I’m sure I can get that fixed. Overall design and value is one of the best I’ve seen. Absolutely in love with the home.

Lovely area, DLR just outside and really nice local walks. Co-op is being built just below development and Tesco including a couple of big retail parks are just round the corner with everything you need from dunelm to nandos to gym

How has the building management responded to any problems or issues you have raised:

I have raised the issue that my fan isn’t working and it still hasn’t been sorted, so a little disappointed with that. It’s been around 2 months. Still chasing

Appliances instaled in the kitchen are very high quality as these are SMEG brand. I love the fact I have underfloor heating instead of a traditional radiator. There is concierge which is able to help you with any issue you may encounter related to your flat. I bedroom there is already fitted sliding wardrobe which is very spacious and that helps you worry less about ‘where to put all my clothes?’.

Please tell us what you like and dislike about this area:

I really like the fact it is located near Thames river where I have many great views. Very close from my flat I have local shops and a gym. Gallions reach station is super close as well where I can find DLR. In near future, there will be Elizabeth Line opening not far from here so it will much easier to travel. The area is very quiet now and peaceful to live in.

Please share one thing (or more) which you wish you had known before you moved in:

I wish I could fully open the window in my bedroom as it makes it hard to clean from outside.

What is the best feature of your home:

The best feature are the SMEG appliances especially oven which has so many baking modes, it’s great!

London living at its finest!

Love the courtyard area. It feels very secure. The development is close to the water, you have the luxury of London living without the craziness that London brings.
I instantly felt at home when I moved into this property and anyone who visits falls in love with it also.

I wish I had known how close the property is to the Thames. This was a wonderful surprise

A very secure development with large bike sheds and parking in the basement. The properties themselves have large balconies and smeg appliances. Hot water is supplied from a central heating plant in the building from EON. No need to worry about the boiler!

A new build located right next to the DLR. very helpful concierge staff. Co-op just opened at the front of the building with everything stocked.

A great community feel to the building. Neighbours are all friendly.

The balcony and the large balcony windows. Lots of natural light.

Amazing views of the River Thames from balcony. Modern design, spacious, quiet and concierge store parcels. Excellent value for money. Good investment opportunity in up and coming area. Rarely need to use heating in winter months. Also get welcome hamper from developer. Minor dislikes: can on rare occasion smell nearby sewerage and part of development still being built and cannot yet use private residents lounge. Can get very hot in flat in summer.

Up and coming. Excellent links to Canary Wharf (approx 20 mins) and London City Airport (DLR is on doorstep as are bus stops) and Crossrail will shorten the journey time even more. Good sized Cooperative at bottom of development. British gastropub Galyons Bar & Kitchen 5 min walk away. Excellent off road cycle route along the River Thames around the corner. More residential feel that other parts of London. Dislike: building works.

I wish I would have known that there is a great off road cycle route along the River Thames nearby.

If there is one thing you would change about your flat or property what would it be:

I wouldn’t change anything other than having more space (but flat is very spacious already).

This property is situated at prime location and bang opposite to gallions reach station .. the interior and of the development is eye appealing .. lifts are not accessible in few block.. management are friendly very strict about the rules and regulations

Everything is good about the place .. it’s relaxing and all amenities are around.. the only issue facing right now is the construction sound which will get rid off over time

Lovely new build development with lots of secure bike storage and generally Each apartment has a big balcony.
The building and property management are great, very responsive even during lockdown, whenever I’ve had a question or issue they’ve been very quick to reply to me and help get things sorted.

Please tell us what you like and dislike about this area:

Literally walk out of the development onto the DLR, short journey to Canning Town to switch to the jubilee line and with the Elizabeth line opening soon the transport links will be even better. There are a few new developments in the area and neighbourhood is lovely next to the river and Beckton park. Lots of shops nearby. Only complaint would be there aren’t many gyms or restaurants (also only JustEat and UberEats)

Before I moved in I wish I knew that the DLR trains can still be quite noisy at night (albeit not 24hrs)

What is the best feature of your home:

I think what I like best about my new home is the modern feel.

Lovely building although the cleaning service could be more frequent.
We have had leaks in the windows already and it’s only been 6 months since we moved in.
Kitchen specs are very nice however the litchen fan keeps making noises

Wonderful interior design and excellent concierge staff

I went for the 2 bedroom collection and the furniture is fantastic, it looks perfect in my place and really feels like me. The 24hr concierge service is really handy too, and their customer service is brilliant, always smiling and happy to greet you. I like that I can build relationships with the team and it gives you that sense of belonging. The management of the building and prototype is brilliant, they are always on hand to discuss my queries and find solutions to any issues that arise. They are a really effective team.

Please tell us what you like and dislike about this area:

I like the food in this area, especially the East Indian and Mediterranean restaurants, there is an authentic feel to these places. I am quite active in my free time so the opportunity to do watersports with my friends near the royal docks is amazing and invigorating, all year round. The local area is very populated and it can sometimes feel like you can’t escape the rush, however, this has to be expected when choosing to reside in London.

Please share one thing (or more) which you wish you had known before you moved in:

I knew London quite well but I think someone moving from outside of London would appreciate a more in depth overview of the local amenities.

What is the best feature of your home:

The best features for me are the interior design and location, I really like the furniture collection and the opportunity to do activities nearby.
