We have just recently moved in to Fizzy Poplar. We have been so impressed with the Fizzy team throughout the process. Professional, helpful, and organised at every stage. We couldn’t be happier with the size and quality of the flat. Add the fact pets are no problem, and there is an on-site gym, and it is pretty close to perfect. Highly recommend coming to live at Fizzy Poplar!

No large grocery store close to building, only locals.

I really don’t have anything to add here. We love everything about it!

How has the building management responded to any problems or issues you have raised:

Yes. We raised a couple of issues when we moved in and they were resolved quickly.

Nice development, nice building; but the management is well below what it used to be

Recently built, in a good condition. Very well insulated. We rarely have to turn the heating on throughout the winter.

It has good/fast internet although occasionally I find it slightly unreliable for online gaming (you probably could pay to upgrade the connection and it would probably be reliable then).

There’s a decent gym which has frequent users but is usually not too packed. (The gym is shared between multiple buildings).

The bike garage is silly because it is downstairs and you can’t get a key to the garage door unless you have a car. So you either take the fire stairs or the lift (which you are not allowed to do with a bike but I won’t blame you).

Please tell us what you like and dislike about this area:

Good: Plenty of green spaces nearby, great walking/running/cycling routes. Dog-friendly. Not too far from the city centre. There’s a great bakery nearby (great bread, coffee, and breakfast/lunch)
Bad: other than bus, transport links are a bit far away

Please share one thing (or more) which you wish you had known before you moved in:

Enjoy the initial management while you can. Yikes.

How has the building management responded to any problems or issues you have raised:

Poorly. First problems are ignored. After several escalations someone comes to fix the problem but they aren’t allowed to purchase any parts they need to fix so they will come several times (each time taking several emails to actually materialise). Eventually, if we don’t give up, they finally manage to buy the right part and do the proper fix but meanwhile we have wasted several weeks with non fixes.

Design of the properties is nice and building management is proactive as well. I am thinking to prolong the lease for another year or sox months in case of monthly rent is mot increased once my contract finishes in March. Overall satisfied with the development and the services.

There are few local shops, tesco and liddle are quite close. The location of the building is very nice, its quite close to DLR and various stations, also buses runinng.

No mew information came to my attention after I moved in

How has the building management responded to any problems or issues you have raised:

Mainly fast response. I have one comment though regarding timing of the contract. The contracts run 12 month minimum and I would like to prolong it for 6 more months probably because I dont know whether I still will be in the country. I think need to be more flexible especially with tenants who want to renew the lease.

Management is very efficient and it is very quick to get things fixed (usually 1-2 days). Management team is very helpful and always answers questions promptly. Nice range of facilities such as letter box, gym and parcel collection. Would be better if there is a study/working space as many people work from home nowadays. The background check before moving in was a problem as the screening company was not very responsive when contacting the staff. Overall a nice experience.

A range of local shops and supermarkets including Lidl and Tesco. Walking distance to Canary Wharf with lots of good restaurants as well. Lots of opening spaces in surrounding area for sports. However transport is a bit inconvenient as DLR can take more than 40min to get to the city.

Please share one thing (or more) which you wish you had known before you moved in:

I wish there could be a more detailed guide on surrounding area, such as local shops, supermarkets, sports facilities, etc.

How has the building management responded to any problems or issues you have raised:

Yes, very efficient in repair and maintenance. Staff are all very helpful.

The apartment itself is absolutely lovely. It is very clean and stream lined but not unwelcoming. The facilities are good – especially the fact that there is a gym. I’ve had no issues with any of the other residence and everyone seems friendly enough. All in all a good experience.

I like it because it’s one of the more quiet areas in London which means it feels more peaceful – this unfortunately does mean there are not a lot of restaurants/bars/shops.

Please share one thing (or more) which you wish you had known before you moved in:

There is nothing I can think of in this moment. The viewing seemed to show most things clearly.

Building management takes care of issues when they arise.

Design is very nice, building and property management is scarce. We barely see the manager in the building/reception.

Communal spaces are clean and tidy a part some issues with the litter from time to time (but I guess this depends on the Council).

Good: very close to a beautiful park and Poplar Union. A venue for many activities (from babies to adults). Close enough to the Dlr and Canary Wharf

Bad: bin collections is poor; schools are not highly rated.

Bad cladding on the main parts of the buildings. Status of the furniture

In a short way, sometimes we have to chase for a response

The building itself is fine, a bit old and run down in parts but overall okay. The location is good and the park nearby is nice. The rent is just overpriced and fizzy advertise a level of service that in reality they just don’t provide. You don’t have an attentive friendly Bob there to help you- you’re lucky to get a response to any calls or emails. Unpleasant staff who obviously don’t care about the tenants

Don’t expect anyone to be on site

Slowly, if at all. Had to send multiple emails and leave multiple voice messages before getting a response, and usually the response contained no actual answer or helpful info

Good location, property starting to get a bit tired

Building is on the older side of the Fizzy portfolio and is starting to show its age. Communal space a bit tired and damage take a long time to be resolved.
Properties are pet friendly, but there is a charge involved, make sure you are aware of the surcharges. To access the gym, you need to speak to the whole developments concierge to get access, this can be frustrating.
The broadband which is included has been fantastic, no issues with the internet access which having to work from home for so long now is a great relief.
There was a break in to the bike store, security has now been reinforced.

Easy links to the city via the DLR and Canary Wharf by foot.
On street parking is very limited by permits on weekday, permits that you cannot apply for due to the building having a car park.
Access to the canals and local parks are good, with Limehouse Cut just across the park.

Please share one thing (or more) which you wish you had known before you moved in:

Investigate all surcharges, parking, pets, etc.

How has the building management responded to any problems or issues you have raised:

In the flats repairs are awkward due to the age and parts now being discontinued. The maintenance team who do their best get frustrated at these points as they can’t complete the job.

I’ve been renting with Fizzy Poplar for the last 4 years and had no issues. All questions were answered promptly. The service management company could be better but thats outside of Fizzy scope.
Overall the building is good, apartments are nice and location is convenient for those working in Canary Wharf area. Ability to have a dog is also great.

Local area is ok. Development is surrounded by social housing, but is close to transport links and Bartlett Park is just in front. Canary Wharf is 15 minutes on foot.

Cannot complain about anything that relates to Fizzy.

How has the building management responded to any problems or issues you have raised:

Fizzy responds quickly to any problems, property management company not so much.

We stayed here for 3 months only on a short term basis. We had a ton of issues during this short period of time and not one of them were sorted out easily unfortunately. The property is OK (a bit on the ran down / low quality finishes side) but the service from Fizzy and the management company were really below all of my expectations. If you decide to rent from them please be vigilant. I am not sure if we just got hit by a ‘perfect storm’ of issues or this is their normal business practise and expect everyone to just pay whatever extra cost they throw at them.

OK area, good access to the City and Canary Wharf. The immediate surroundings of the development lacks local (dine in) restaurants and pubs.

Please share one thing (or more) which you wish you had known before you moved in:

I wish I had known that “faff-free living” as advertised is far from the truth.

How has the building management responded to any problems or issues you have raised:

After spending countless hours of looking into each issue, following up with third parties as well and escalating to Fizzy management we managed to get some sort of an agreement on most of the above issues, but renting should not be this difficult from a landlord that advertises “faff-free living”.

Hi Erika, we are sorry that your Fizzy experience was not as expected – we have had recent staffing changes which impacted handovers. This transition has not been as smooth as it should have been which resulted in some issues with your tenancy.
