Please tell us about the good and bad aspects of living in your local area:
The amount of noise from the club, people & traffic passed midnight are unbearable in several instances. It also feels a lot less secure comparing to the past as people are seen wondering around the residential area. There are also a lot of mosquitoes in the area and you simply can’t open any windows.
How has the building management responded to any problems or issues you have raised:
Yes, the boiler leak was finally fixed after 6 (?) visits.
Please share one thing (or more) which you wish you had known before you moved in:
Services such as gym memberships and tv license would be removed. The area will have club, bars and theatre.

The location is superb, offering excellent connectivity to the city centre via the Elizabeth Line and Jubilee Line. It’s conveniently close to offices, a variety of restaurants, grocery stores, and a shopping centre, making daily errands a breeze. Plus, if you’re in the mood for some greenery, Greenwich Park is just a short distance away, providing the perfect blend of urban convenience and natural escape

Fantastic, Omar is top notch and has helped with all aspects. Especially when being new to town, Omar helped out with all things to think about. Would highly, highly recommend 8 water street for anyone new to town!

Please tell us about the good and bad aspects of living in your local area:
The range of shops and the proximity to the tube, the gym, the supermarkets and to the water is great. The streets and surrounding areas are always immaculate in Canary Wharf. The soundproofing on the flats is also incredible. I can never hear any of my neighbours, and disruptions are minimal. The downside is the fact that there is a hotel with asylum seekers in less than a 5 minute walk from the flat. Despite Canary Wharf putting in additional security, it does make me nervous having them so close to where I live.
How has the building management responded to any problems or issues you have raised:
They respond quickly, and normally have everything resolved before I’m back from work. The concierge are also excellent at pointing you in the right direction if you ever have any concerns.
Please share one thing (or more) which you wish you had known before you moved in:
I wish I’d known how little storage there actually is in the flat. You need to be very savvy with the items you bring in order for it to not feel too clustered. Although already mentioned, the soundproofing is particularly impressive.
Manager response

Please tell us about the good and bad aspects of living in your local area:
Living in this area has been a fantastic experience overall. The location is unbeatable — we have the Jubilee and Elizabeth tube lines plus the DLR just minutes away, making travel across London incredibly convenient. The shopping centre beneath the stations is excellent, offering everything you might need, from grocery stores and pharmacies to banks, cafés, and beauty services. The neighbourhood feels safe and well looked after, with regular cleaning and visible 24/7 security staff. There are also plenty of restaurants, cafés, and new spaces opening all the time, giving the area a lively and modern atmosphere. The only downside is the noise late at night from one of the waterfront restaurants that hosts events with live music or DJs until around 2 a.m., especially Thursday to Sunday. Because the venue is right on the water, the sound carries, and you can even hear it from the upper floors. Additionally, noise travels quite easily here due to the surroundings — early morning bin collections, occasional construction, and transport announcements are noticeable. That said, the positives far outweigh the negatives. It’s a vibrant, well-connected, and convenient place to live with a great sense of safety.
How has the building management responded to any problems or issues you have raised:
When we had an issue with our dishwasher, the building management responded very quickly and had it fixed without any hassle. Since then, everything has worked smoothly. The only downside is that the new apps are a bit clunky and not very intuitive, which can make submitting maintenance requests a bit frustrating.
Please share one thing (or more) which you wish you had known before you moved in:
One thing I wish I’d known before moving in is how much sound carries in this area. Because the building is surrounded by water, noise tends to travel — especially from the waterfront restaurant that plays live music and hosts DJ nights until late on weekends. It’s not constant, but definitely noticeable, even on higher floors. On the positive side, the location couldn’t be better. Having the Jubilee line, Elizabeth line, and DLR all within minutes makes getting around London incredibly easy. Plus, you have everything you could possibly need right here — shops, restaurants, gyms, pharmacies, and services all in one place. It’s a vibrant, convenient, and lively spot to live in — just come prepared for a bit of weekend nightlife noise.
Manager response
Hello Aleks, Thank you very much for taking the time to share such detailed feedback. We’re delighted to hear that you’re enjoying your home and that you’ve found the building to be well maintained and comfortable. It’s wonderful to know that our management and concierge teams, particularly Rob and Heidi have made such a positive impression. We’ll be sure to share your kind words with them. We appreciate you highlighting the issues with the main doors and intercom system, and we understand how frustrating these can be. Please rest assured that both matters have been raised with our contractors. Your feedback is invaluable and helps us continue improving the experience for everyone living in the building. Thank you again for your thoughtful review and for being part of the Vertus community.
