10 George Street rises 37 storeys above Canary Wharf’s new district, Wood Wharf. The development comprises of 327 apartments, which overlook waterside gardens and boardwalks below. In addition, residents have exclusive access to “Club Vertus.”  This includes access to a 24/7 gym studio, self-service bar, private dining room and lounge which opens out onto a large, south-facing terrace. Similarly, the 24-hour concierge is available to sign for parcels, arrange for dry cleaning and welcome you home. Apartments come fully-furnished or unfurnished, how you make it your home is up to you.

10 George Street feels special. You’re made to feel special, and way before you even move in. I don’t work in Canary Wharf, or finance, quite the opposite. But I love it.

Despite an impressive 37 stories, I opted for a modest 5th floor 1 bed, so no O2 or Wharf view for me, but a rather lovely connection with the terrace, gardens and south dock below, all from a large furnished balcony that spans my lounge and bedroom.

The architecture is striking, as are the materials and the attention to detail throughout is awesome. Consolidated utility bills, rubbish shoots on every floor, a proper (coffee for people that like coffee) coffee machine, an ever-changing wine fridge that’s curated by residents and artwork in the hallways that I actually want to steal.

There’s a ‘wow’ terrace with day beds and BBQ that when the sun shines (and it has) transports you to the Med (my 7 year old son continually tells me it’s like being on holiday) A gym with classes, a lounge with a shuffle board and a kitchen/dining room with a big old table to entertain when your dinner party goes big and exceeds your apartment.

10 GS is a very social place, it’s made lockdown enjoyable, actually fun. I’ve met some lovely people, very much aided by the wonderfully inclusive events program they run here. If interacting with other residents isn’t your thing though, close your door and pull the duvet up.

Lastly I want to mention the team here, from the quite brilliant concierge who really look after you (but also make you laugh) to the security, maintenance and perhaps most importantly, the very visible cleaning team, there’s no place I’d rather be right now.

I’ve really fallen for Canary Wharf, even in these strange times when the streets, malls and towers have been empty. The convenience is real, you’re a 5 min walk from everything you might ever need, Waitrose flagship is my new best friend. And if like me you love East London, Hackney/Shoreditch/Spitalfields are a just 15-minute cycle away.

Please share one thing (or more) which you wish you had known before you moved in:

That the Council Tax is taken care of and bundled into the utility bills.
The golf buggy available to pick you up from Waitrose when you go mad in the wine department.

If there is one thing you would change about your flat or property what would it be:

There really is little to find fault with here, however a set of bedroom drawers to accompany the generous wardrobes would be a welcome addition.

I can say 10 George Street is one of the dream apartments, which has nice and spacious terrace (you can do BBQ or bring your drinks and snacks as well!), cosy lounge and bar area where you can have good quality coffee (as many as you want! for non-coffee fans, there are organic tea selections) and wine bar. You can chill there like part of your apartment as these are always very cleaned and sometimes seeing very friendly concierge. If you have some issues in your apartment, you can quickly email/call the management and they will send an engineer soon (it’s new building so some issues are always there). Window cleaning for outside only come on quarterly basis. I agree rent fee here is way higher than others in Canary Wharf so definitely for those who wants a real luxurious.

There is still only one new shop (Amazon Fresh) around the street but you will find a lot if you walk a couple of minutes from the building, including Waitrose, many other shops in underground shopping mall, restaurants and bars as well. It is a resident’s area so very quite at this moment (as retail shops and office buildings are still under construction) but construction is going at the areas in front of the building on from 8am until evening every Monday to Saturday, where you can’t open windows that much during the day. Securities are always walking around even in the midnight and there are security guards everywhere to get in the area by cars, which makes you feel very safe all the time.

Construction is going at the areas in front of the building on from 8am until evening every Monday to Saturday, where you can’t open windows that much during the day. Window cleaning for outside large windows where you can’t reach out only come on quarterly basis, so sometimes it doesn’t look good. Not many storage area (especially for clothing) for one bedroom. Bin chute is placed on each floor which is super convenient!

How has the building management responded to any problems or issues you have raised:

Although it is new building, there are some issues to be raised but always got a quick response even from concierge or the building management.

10 George is a beautiful building. The deck and gardens are relaxing, and provide additional space outside the confines of your apartment to hang out.
The team at the front desk is always happy to answer questions.
The building has great Wi-Fi, and the utilities bundled into one easy payment per month is a nice feature.

Excellent restaurants and shops. Great activities, often free of charge. Public transportation readily available.

Please share one thing (or more) which you wish you had known before you moved in:

The appliances are very intuitive and work incredibly well. As an example, the oven heats up quickly, a pot of water on the cook top boils in no time, and the dishwasher gets the dishes really clean. The heating and cooling system is also fantastic!

How has the building management responded to any problems or issues you have raised:

While I’ve had very few issues, those raised were handled in a timely manner.

Modernist dream with views to match, I literally don’t need to go the O2 I can see it from my balcony and the communal space is incredible for entertaining friends who come to see me, the Communal gym the commercial kitchen all excellent tres bonne!!

A nice sleek design with a great terrace and communal amenity areas. Facilities are great and apartments are not small.
All staff are friendly with a eye for detail and you can see that the standards are maintained like all other CanaryWharf group properties.

Good location on the waterfront with easy transport links and a fantastic selection of bars, restaurants and other retail. The open spaces are great as well.

The design of our apartment is ideal for us because there’s very little wasted space, and good storage. The large windows and generous balcony space ensure there’s plenty of natural light coming into all the rooms while the triple glazed windows eliminate virtually all outside noise, and help keep the temperature inside our apartment very constant. An unexpected bonus has been the 24 hours concierge – every team member goes out of there way to make a positive difference, so coming back to the apartment is always a pleasure.

The local is perfect for catching the Tube or DLR in central London because there is never a long wait for transport. All the properties in the area are well cared for, the public areas are all very well maintained and its fantastic to have access to so many shops in the Canary Wharf Shopping Centre. The added bonus has been having an Amazon Fresh store just around the corner – it’s amazing!

Take advantage of the events that are organised – it’s been a great way to meet people from all over the world.

This property is super nice and I like all the aspects of the building. Everything that is managed by Vertus works very well, but things that are responsibility of a third party can be improved (e.g. community Utilities, Retail Units, etc). The service provided by the concierge team is amazing!

I like this area very much. However, I think the local shops close a bit too early during the weekends.

The deposit units in the basement are super useful and the cost is very affordable.

I have been living at Vertus for just over an year . It is really an unique place . State-of-the-art flats. The entire team delivers a great service from the concierge to security to maintenance. More and more people have moved in and and it has built a great community to either personal and business relationships. It’s been getting better and better every day.

Canary Wharf is a oasis of great shops , restaurants and open spaces . There is always something happening from street art exhibitions to food trucks to music and dance events. Having Jubilee line on your doorstep and the DLR five minutes walk is priceless. A very safe place as well.

It is really a beautiful and tranquil and safe neighbourhood

Love the design. There is plenty of space to enjoy and relax. The first floor has all you need, from private party space to outside beautiful terrace to a big common area with snooker table and many other board games, comfy sofas to relax and socialise and also invite you’re friends to, all facing the water! Amazing view !! Apartments are very well designed, extremely spacious and service is on point. 24×7 maintenance team on site as well as concierge to make your life easy and hassle free!

One very common misconception is “canary Wharf is far away” which is so untrue as it is extremely well connected. Jubliee line is the most reliable and we have bus stop, underground and overground within 5 min. The location is very peaceful, feels like coming back home. Amazon fresh is within 2 min walk and we also have Waitrose and tesco express within 8 min walk. Plenty of cafe’s and bars and restaurants again within 10-15 min walk and because this area is mostly residential, you almost never hear traffic.

Some construction going on the o2 arena side so not to consider those apartments

The property management for this complex is good what makes this building is the concierge desk. The staff are genuinely helpful and just a delight to interact with. The design of the apartment is good, a few things miss the mark but overall this is good easy living.

The Canary Wharf area is fantastic- with several commuting options off the wharf and almost everything you could need within a 5 minute walk. It feels safe and is a pleasant respite from the hustle and bustle of central London.

This is easy living at its finest, most of what you need is within walking distance, transport on and off the wharf is easy to master and walking along the Thames Path is marvelous.

The backbone and star of this development is the strong, and consistent concierge desk, their commitment to a high level of service is this not only obvious it is very much appreciated.
