Couldn’t be happier

The design is amazing. It far exceeded any of my expectations. More than anything though, the girls who work at reception really make you feel at home and do a fantastic job of keeping everyone happy. As far as facilities go, it would be nice to have an indoor gym like other apartment complexes similar to this often have, but this might be my only complaint. Everything else as far as having an app to manage payments and check when your packages arrived at reception, free coffee from a very cool machine powered by an iPad in the kitchen, co-working spaces etc, easily make up for it. It’s the little attention to detail that has really made me like living here for example, the umbrellas at the front door incase you happen to forget yours. They really do think about the residents.

Please tell us what you like and dislike about this area:

Thanks to the windows in the apartment, most of the loud noise from the outdoors is muted whilst they’re closed. Local area is nice and quiet. Neighborhood is developing rapidly and so over time there should be more stuff to do.

Please share one thing (or more) which you wish you had known before you moved in:

Currently it’s very quiet as it’s a new development so I barely ever bump into other people. This will likely solve itself with time. There are 7/8 floors and only 82 residents in total at the time of writing. Pros to this are that you can use any facilities whenever you want but the main con is the lack of socialisation, though this isn’t the fault of the property managers, it’s simply a matter of time.

How has the building management responded to any problems or issues you have raised:

So far I haven’t had a single issue in regards to moving in. Any minor queries have been quickly resolved by the receptionists.

Such an amazing place to live, great amenities, great location and great staff.

The design of the building is very comfortable and relaxing, especially after a days work coming home to this building is very calming. The facilities are great especially for those who work at home or students, they have a quiet comfortable space to complete work. Also spaces to socialise with friends/family. The management and staff are always friendly and very welcoming. . Couldn’t ask for a better apartment complex!

Please tell us what you like and dislike about this area:

Very good restaurants and bars around the area, easy walking distances. The location is very convenient with shops and transport e.g. moor field train station and the bus stations. The street is very quiet and safe and very little traffic noise or high speed traffic.

Please share one thing (or more) which you wish you had known before you moved in:

The amazing and welcoming staff, always make you feel at home and comfortable.

How has the building management responded to any problems or issues you have raised:

We have not had any issues, although we have requested for our walls to be painted and have been given a date very shortly after paying.

Hairpin house is great!

The communal areas are beautiful, useful and filled with everything you could need.

The staff are incredibly helpful. They do everything over and above.

The design is modern, pretty and practical. I especially love the choices of furniture that come in my furnished apartment!

Please tell us what you like and dislike about this area:

Hairpin house is a great place to live. There are frequent buses from right outside that can take you to the city centre, which is in walking distance also. There are nearby gyms, cafes, restaurants and bars. There aren’t large supermarkets near, but the buses mean you can get to them easily.

The traffic outside can be quite noisy when you have your windows open, but nothing outside the ordinary for such a central location.

There is plenty parking available, but it is expensive, at £100/month.

Please share one thing (or more) which you wish you had known before you moved in:

There is an amazing coffee machine in the ground floor front lounge, that you can use for free 🙂

How has the building management responded to any problems or issues you have raised:

I haven’t raised any major issues. I’ve asked them questions and they have been extremely helpful.

Beautifully designed with excellent amenities

Hairpin House is beautifully designed with excellent amenities. The rooms are all a great size, and the co-working space means we’ve been able to skip on a second bedroom. The concierge gives added security, as well as peace of mind when it comes to parcel deliveries.

Please tell us what you like and dislike about this area:

Digbeth is just 15 minutes walk from Birmingham New Street and 10 minutes from the Bullring, while being far enough out to allow for plenty of on street parking. The area is currently undergoing redevelopment, including a new tram line. As a result, there are plans for lots of new residential buildings, restaurants and shops. Though there are a few construction sites in close proximity, we’ve not had any issues with noise.

Please share one thing (or more) which you wish you had known before you moved in:

We didn’t view the property before moving in – I wish we’d taken up the option of a virtual viewing to get a feel for the space, as deciding what to bring with us was largely based on guesswork!

How has the building management responded to any problems or issues you have raised:

Having landlord and management under one company means ila are prompt to get back to any queries and take concerns seriously. The online portal makes it easy to raise maintenance requests too.
