The building itself is modern and generally well-maintained

Please tell us about the good and bad aspects of living in your local area:

I really like the convenience of living here. There are plenty of shops, cafés and supermarkets within walking distance, which makes everyday life easy. Public transport is also close by so getting around the city isn’t a problem. The area feels mostly safe and calm, especially during the week. it can get a bit noisy at night on weekends. Overall, it’s a good location with a lot of useful amenities nearby.

How has the building management responded to any problems or issues you have raised:

Any time I’ve had a small issue or question, management has been quite responsive. They usually reply within a reasonable time and try to sort things out without making it complicated. It feels like they do care about residents and keep the building running smoothly, which makes living here more comfortable.

Please share one thing (or more) which you wish you had known before you moved in:

I wish I had known that noise can travel a bit more between flats than expected, especially on weekends. It’s still a nice place to live, but this is something future residents might want to be aware of so they can choose the right floor or unit for their preference. Other than that, the building has been a good choice.

Please tell us about the good and bad aspects of living in your local area:

No complaints about the local area, there isn’t much to do but you would be aware of that when researching the property. Good transport links.

How has the building management responded to any problems or issues you have raised:

They have not responded to numerous complaints from either myself or my neighbours.

Please share one thing (or more) which you wish you had known before you moved in:

That there is no hot water or electricity. The apartments are unliveable on this basis.

Please tell us about the good and bad aspects of living in your local area:

The area is very convenient and peaceful, with plenty of local shops, cafes and supermarkets within walking distance. Public transport links are reliable, and the neighbourhood feels safe and friendly. The only minor downside is limited parking spaces during peak hours.

How has the building management responded to any problems or issues you have raised:

The building management team always responds quickly and efficiently. Any issues I’ve reported were resolved within a short time, and the staff are polite and professional.

Please share one thing (or more) which you wish you had known before you moved in:

I wish I had known how peaceful and quiet the neighbourhood is — it’s a perfect place to relax after work. Parking can be a bit limited at times, but overall it’s a lovely and comfortable area to live in.

Please tell us about the good and bad aspects of living in your local area:

The area is fantastic, I’ve lived in northern quarter/ancoats for a couple of years and absolutely love it

How has the building management responded to any problems or issues you have raised:

As mentioned before, some incredibly promptly and some with fairly vague answers and not for months, it’s hard to describe!

Please share one thing (or more) which you wish you had known before you moved in:

The windows don’t open which makes it incredibly hot in the summer, if you’re on a flat next to Romona you will be able to hear the music through your windows also

Manager response

Hi Aydan, Thank you for taking the time to leave such a detailed and considered review, we really appreciate your honesty and the chance to hear where things have worked well, and where we still have room to improve. It’s great to hear that you’ve enjoyed the building’s communal spaces like reception and the lounges, and that you’ve found the team responsive in moments that really mattered. We know those situations can be stressful, so we’re glad we could act quickly when it counted. We also take on board your feedback around the windows, balcony limitations, and apartment sizing, especially for couples. We always try to show potential residents a clear picture during viewings, but your comments are helpful in setting more realistic expectations moving forward. We also want to acknowledge the frustration you've felt regarding long-standing issues like the parcel system and window cleaning delays. You're absolutely right, some of these matters fall beyond the immediate team on site, but that doesn't mean they should be long-standing delays. Your feedback has been shared with the relevant management teams, and we'll continue to push for more consistent updates and progress. As for the terrace, you’ve raised some brilliant suggestions that are all ideas worth exploring, and we’ll certainly feed this into future improvement plans. Enhancing outdoor space for residents is something we’re keen to do more of, especially as people look for more flexible ways to enjoy their homes. Thank you again for your balanced feedback and for continuing to be part of the community here at Swan Street House. Your insights really do help us grow and improve.

We really enjoy the amenities within the building and how social the building is at meeting other tenants. We love the location and can’t wait to carry on the year in our new flat.

Please tell us about the good and bad aspects of living in your local area:

Swan street house has a perfect location for us, we are two students so need access to transport trams, busses and trains often all of these modes of transport are in walking distance of the flat we love it. There are loads of bars and restaurants in northern quarter and ancoats which we enjoy. We have chosen to park off site as parking within the building was too expensive however this did not effect our choice of apartment as we live the location and range of shops in the area.

How has the building management responded to any problems or issues you have raised:

They have helped us out straight away on move in day with any of our little hiccups.

Please share one thing (or more) which you wish you had known before you moved in:

I would have liked an appliance run down of what furniture is included within the flat, as we didn’t get to view our property before moving in . This was no issue at all.

Manager response

Hi Nicole, Thank you for such a lovely review. We are so pleased to hear you love Swan Street House just as much as us. We will always do our best to show the exact apartment you will be reserving but sometimes this may not be possible. We do offer virtual viewings, late evening viewings and weekend viewings to ensure we can be the most accommodating. We're glad to hear you love the area as much as we do, and hope you've made good use of the 15% resident discount at our next door neighbours Ramona and Firehouse! Thank you for being an amazing part of our community!
