Where is Brent?

The London Borough of Brent is found in North-West London. It covers the areas of Church End, Cricklewood, Dollis Hill, Harlesden, Kensal Green and Kenton.

Thanks to its location – just a stone’s throw from Central London – Brent is well connected to all parts of the city by public transport.

The borough shares borders with six other London boroughs: Ealing and Harrow in the northwest; Barnet and Camden in the northeast; Westminster in the southeast; and Hammersmith & Fulham in the southwest.

Brent has several neighbourhoods that are popular among homebuyers, including:

Alperton – an industrialised area that is home to a large Indian population and the Grand Union Canal.

Brondesbury Park – An affluent area south of Kensal Green with grand Victorian houses, many of which have been converted into flats. This neighbourhood has good transport links, a high street for shopping needs, local schools and parks for recreational activities.

Dollis Hill – A leafy suburban area near Willesden Green with plenty of green spaces including Gladstone Park (which features tennis courts) and Fryent Country Park (where you can enjoy nature walks). Dollis Hill also has underground access via Jubilee Line at Dollis Hill station.

Kenton – Situated in northwest London on the Watford branch of the Bakerloo Line, Kenton is a suburb with a vibrant high street featuring independent shops and restaurants. It is also home to Horsendon Hill Local Nature Reserve and Barham Park, which makes it ideal for nature lovers.

Kilburn – One of North West London’s most popular neighbourhoods known as ‘Little Ireland’ due to its large Irish community who settled here in the late 1950s. The area features two railway stations (Queen’s Road at Kilburn High Road station; Brondesbury Station on the North London line) along with numerous parks and green spaces such as Priory Park, Mapesbury Dell Playground and Queens Park Gardens.

Neasden – An inner suburb of North West London covering an area of just over three square miles. The residential areas are characterised by spacious Victorian and Edwardian houses with many being converted into flats and bedsits.

Kingsbury – A suburban district in North West London, located on the north-west side of Brent, bordering Middlesex to the west and south-east along with the London Boroughs of Harrow to the south, Barnet to the east and Wembley Park (in Brent) to its immediate north.

Universities in Brent

As a London Borough, Brent does not have any universities of its own. However, there are a number of universities located nearby in other boroughs which students from Brent may attend, including:

The University of Westminster (in the City of Westminster) – Established in 1838, the University of Westminster is the oldest university in London. It has around 26,000 students and is located in the heart of London, close to many of its major attractions.

Great residence team, bad system

I have been living in Madison for 2 years. Is very nice to be next to the stadium and listen to concerts in the rooftop. The area feels very safe and modern, the only thing is that the walk to the station feels extra long in winter.

The building is very new and the social spaces are great. There are not many events during the year but there are WhatsApp groups with residents organising socials regularly.

Gym is good, but punching bag screen has been broken for months without fixing it. Also antidote clases are £5 but regularly cancelled.

The system used in management is very bad, you will be logged out of the app multiple times, get unresolved emails, etc… BUT Shane, Maria, Amma and Anthony are incredible helpful and lovely people that has help me sort all issues in these two years.

The utilities are charged in a weird way, we are charged £70 when the flat is completely empty. But it is still nice that everything is automatic and you don’t have to worry about setting up.

Please review your development:

Quintain is nice but not as nice as they sell themselves.

I love the design of the buildings, the social spaces, the amenities… but the increases in rent are high and when your contract expires they won’t give you any discount because is only for new residents. I really hope they change that.

Is very far from the city but the metropolitan line gets you there in 20 mins.

Please share one thing (or more) which you wish you had known before you moved in:

If you like sun as much as me, check your flat direction. Flats pointing north with a building in front will get 0 sunlight during the year.

Also, ask early about the platform you have to register to monitor your utilities usage… sometimes they charge more by mistake.

How has the building management responded to any problems or issues you have raised:

We had to wait 2 months to get our front door lock changed. Also we had some problem with the washing machine but it was solved in less than a week. So it depends on the issue.

The area around Madison is well maintained, with access to all necessary shops, restaurants. Pleasure to live here

Please review your development:

The building deserves an award for its construction and design in my opinion. The materials and construction are obviously well chosen to reduce the noise from Wembley stadium on events days and to keep it warm without too much heating use in the winter. The colours and the furniture are stylish and well combined. The space of the shared social areas and the flats are very well arranged. The members of the residents and maintenance teams
are friendly and helpful. Thank you to Greg, Maria and Shane for looking after us so well. We couldn’t have asked for a better management team.

Please share one thing (or more) which you wish you had known before you moved in:

I personally got exactly what i was looking for. The only thing is the guest parking – no availability for hourly bookings.

How has the building management responded to any problems or issues you have raised:

Thanks to Greg and Maria, everything was dealt with within a reasonable time frame and with professionalism.

Just tube too far and very busy road, shops too far as well, zero green spaces around, walking distance to any park min 20-25 mins

Please review your development:

It will be good if there was more parking spaces also parking spaces for visitors, it’s really not far even delivery ppl having trouble to park and also other such as midwifes, children also would benefit from some area to play and also some trees dropping some residues on cars which is hard to remove

Please share one thing (or more) which you wish you had known before you moved in:

Noise, even at night, from the garage and the warehouses and some dealers

How has the building management responded to any problems or issues you have raised:

Usually respond quickly. The problem sometimes not fully sorted
