Classy, friendly, well designed, a great place to live!

The Wullcomb is a very stylish building right in the centre of the best part of Leicester. There is real attention to detail about the interior design right from the Post Room to the Reception space and the beautiful shared living space which hosts a cinema room and a roof terrace with fire pit, BBQ and pizza oven. The finishing touches throughout the building really make it feel classy. All the staff who work here are friendly, helpful and care about making your living here the best experience it can be. It’s easy to raise any facilities issue via a web portal, to which the response is prompt and professional. Apartments are spacious and well designed and being in the centre of a busy city, surprisingly quiet!

Please tell us what you like and dislike about this area:

Leicester has good transport links with two bus stations in the city centre which can take you to surrounding beautiful rural areas such as Bradgate Park, and a train station where you can get to London in 1 hour. All the shops, bars, restaurants are situated close together and there is a real buzz about the place on a weekend. The cultural quarter offers a fabulous theatre and there are visitor attractions such as King Richard III and New Walk Museum.

Please share one thing (or more) which you wish you had known before you moved in:

Exact price of utilities, which isn’t really in the hand of the developer to be fair

What is the best feature of your home:

Everything is well designed at the Wullcomb, so it’s easy living in stylish surroundings

Classy Luxury

Review Date Jun 2020

Theres no faults that I have come across with this apartment complex. I personally don’t have noise issues either. Its in a great location, literal minute walk from Nandos, cant beat that! 😂

Apartments themselves are nice, spacious for what they are. Even the one bedrooms were bigger than expected.

If you live high up, amazing views. Everyone is friendly and inviting. It’s just nice. Really nice.

Please tell us what you like and dislike about this area:

The heart of the city. Comfortable. Relaxing.

Please share one thing (or more) which you wish you had known before you moved in:

Parking is £80 a month, this is good to know.
Ordering food (Deliveroo, UberEats) can be a pain as they don’t know where the building is sometimes. Keep that in mind! 😉

How has the building management responded to any problems or issues you have raised:

They have responded to all enquiries I have raised and even additional enquiries for the future!

Hi Sam, thank you so much for the excellent review of The Wullcomb!

The position of our building is great as you rightly say – opposite The Highcross Shopping Centre, links to the major road networks, train station & of course some great places to eat & drink (especially Nando’s!).

We are delighted to hear you are happy with the apartment & building & we are very happy to have you staying with us!

If there is any way we can help, please do speak to our on-site team.

The best place to live in Leicester!

The apartment itself is fitted with appliances necessary for modern living: washing machine/dryer, fridge, freezer, and dishwasher. The inside of the apartment is spacious and practical at the same time. It is also very secure as people can only get in the building if they have a biometric card.
The interior design is classy and inviting at the same time. There is a shared space as well if people want to entertain or want to get out of their apartment.
I love the colour scheme employed throughout the whole building,
There is 24 hour concierge, and they have always been very helpful to me.

Please tell us what you like and dislike about this area:

The Wullcomb is in the centre of everything: Highcross is literally next door, Tesco is 10 minutes walking, and all the best restaurants are just a walk away. It is only 10-15 minutes walk to the train station, and 15 minutes walk to LRI. it is easy to catch public transport from the city centre. In summary, the location of The Wullcomb is the definition of convenience.
I actually love this place so much, and dread the day that I have to move!( which would only happen if I have to leave Leicester)

Please share one thing (or more) which you wish you had known before you moved in:

The interior of the apartments are pretty much similar, but it is important to actually view the apartment unit as the size, amount of light, the view etc can vary depending on the location.

How has the building management responded to any problems or issues you have raised:

I had an issue with my washing machine right at the peak of the COVID pandemic. After logging in my maintenance request, the management team kept me updated about the progress of my request. Not only that, they make sure that it’s actually sorted. There is a tenant portal where maintainable issue can be raised and it is all so streamlined.

Thank you so much for the excellent review of The Wullcomb – It is lovely to hear you love staying with us as much as we love having you here!

It is great to hear that maintenance issues are being dealt with promptly & followed through to completion; particularly at this time. It is pleasing to hear that you are using the tenant portal to log defects as we think it is an excellent tool for residents as well.

Thank you again, I will ensure your feedback is shared with all of the team.

Obviously the building is nice as it’s new, but the fact that previous tenants seemed to have wrecked the place in 6 months is unbelievable.

A car parking space costs £80 a month, or you could just save that money and park in the guest parking every day… other people seem to be doing this?

Please tell us what you like and dislike about this area:

If you’re not a student, really don’t bother, this place is like a club 18-30
hotel. I’ve been here a week and have had to complain twice about the noise from the student neighbours.

As I’m sat here writing this review now, some “lads” are hanging out of a window chanting. It’s 1am.

Concierge will tell them to be quiet, but should you really have to go through this 2/3 time’s a week?

Fortunately there’s an exit clause after 6 months, which I’m almost certain I’ll exercise. I imagine in September when students are back, this place will become unbearable. It’s like living in a student halls of residence. Truly awful for the amount you pay.

Please share one thing (or more) which you wish you had known before you moved in:

How many students were here and how noisy it gets at night. If I’d have knows I’d be moving next to a flat full of students, I would have avoided at all costs.

If there is one thing you would change about your flat or property what would it be:

Sound proof the lot. The walls are paper thin. Genuinely thought the flat next door were playing a game of Rugby last night at 4am.

Not much here to write about the actual design, facilities, building management and property management. Everything professionally designed and put together from doorknobs to LED lights, from kitchen units to bathrooms, from hallways to the leisure area. Although there is always room for improvement everything in the individual flats and the building itself is in line with the latest technology and regulations, fully equipped with top of the line appliances, fiberoptic internet, air circulation systems, heating and such. Facilities and especially the people are just what you can expect and beyond. Period.

Please tell us what you like and dislike about this area:

The Wullcomb is literally at the heart of Leicester city and in front of the high street. Major restaurants, global and local brands in addition to the biggest shopping centre in the area less than 5 minutes of walking distance. Few blocks away from the coach station, direct connection to the inner ring road makes it extremely accessible to train station, bus lanes as well as outside towns from multiple directions. De Montfort University is around 10 minutes walking distance and Royal Infirmary emergency services within reach in 8 minutes drive from door to door.

Please share one thing (or more) which you wish you had known before you moved in:

Every flat has a unique location due to the courtyard architecture of the building complex. It is better to consider elements such as sun exposure, wind direction, traffic noise etc. before deciding which floor and flat to choose.

How has the building management responded to any problems or issues you have raised:

The keys to the apartment got lost/misplaced during moving in. The management arranged locksmith to attend the issue around 11 PM while we were still carrying our furniture.
We had a technical problem with the washing machine which is one of the standard appliances comes with the property due to an installation fault which could only be detected after actual usage. The management responded immediately and arranged a repair service appointment which solved the issue within a few days.

Thank you for taking the time to post this very positive review of The Wullcomb.

I am very pleased to hear that you feel we have reacted well when issue have occurred; we cannot always be perfect although we certainly do try! It is great to know that when things do go wrong, we met your expectations.

You are correct about the different positions of the apartments offering different views & the sun arriving at different times. We can always advise on this if people have specific requirements.

All feedback is greatly appreciated, positive or negative, if there are any furthers suggestions you can make, please do not hesitate to speak to the onsite team – we are always happy to help!

Great feedback – thank you!

Faultless. The accommodation is one of the nicest environments I’ve been in, full of glamour and beautiful decor. The staff are all amazing, and genuinely care about your wellbeing 24/7. They’ve always been more than happy to help, and often go the extra mile to make sure I have what I need. The amenities such as the roof top and communal area are a real added luxury, and offer even more space to relax and socialise, outside of the already superb rooms.

Really friendly and helpful staff who are always available to help. The flats themselves are great. We’ve been here since October and we love it here. Very spacious and the shared spaces are great. Love the cinema room and the rooftop terrace which is always free to go and chill.

Please tell us what you like and dislike about this area:

Great central location to live. Literally across the road from the main shopping centre in Leicester so couldn’t have asked for any better!

Please share one thing (or more) which you wish you had known before you moved in:

Not anything really, wish we had been able to get an apartment on a higher floor!

What is the best feature of your home:

The best feature is the shared living spaces around the building as they are always clean and inviting.

Great place to live!

Review Date Feb 2020

The building is built and maintained to a very high standard. I rent a 2 bedroom furnished apartment, its well designed and has a modern stylish finish. The building management team are warm, friendly and extremely professional plus there is always someone available to help with any query I have, no matter small. Overall, I am extremely happy living here, I would recommend to anyone who wants modern contemporary city living.

Please tell us what you like and dislike about this area:

The apartment block is in a great location opposite Highcross shopping centre, with all the bars and restaurants that it has to offer. It is also a quick walk to the main shopping centre, the cultural quarter and the train station. It’s very easy to exit the city to get to the motorways, so overall extremely well positioned.

Please share one thing (or more) which you wish you had known before you moved in:

Make sure you book your car parking space early, the good ones go very quickly!

If there is one thing you would change about your flat or property what would it be:

The only issue I had was with the referencing process which is handled by a 3rd party, it took longer than I expected.

I’m very pleased with my apartment, so much so that I have just extended my lease. My apartment itself is finished to a high standard, and the commual lounge, kitchen and relaxation areas give me space to spread out if I want to. The location is great, right in the heart of Leicester and the onsite management and concierge team look after me when I need help.

Please tell us what you like and dislike about this area:

The development is right in the heart of Leicester, literally a stones throw from the Highcross shopping centre with a good range of shops, a multiplex cinema and numerous restaurants and bars. About 5 minutes walk away is The Lanes area with a large number of independent shops and eateries. There are many bars, restaurants and clubs within 10 minutes walk. The railway station is about a 15 minute walk away and the bus station about 5 minutes.

Please share one thing (or more) which you wish you had known before you moved in:

Whilst each apartment is identical inside, make sure you look at the location, for example which floor, views from the windows, etc.

How has the building management responded to any problems or issues you have raised:

Good when they get around to things, but sometimes a little slow. Maybe this is because they had about 200 tenants move into the development in about 2 months, so they were very busy. Things have calmed down now, and they are getting quicker to respond.

A Wonderful Place to Live

The building design is very thought out, with systems in place to allow every day for the tenants to live their lives without any problems. Every space within the Wullcomb has been considered, with various different rooms and seating areas, you will never not have somewhere to sit! The flats are extremely spacious and have a big kitchen, fridge freezer, washing machine and even dishwasher. The building is managed by great people, Karl and Louise are always willing to help and always willing to ask whatever questions we have, as well as the fantastic concierge teams, maintenance teams and other staff that are on hand to assist (Stefan, Daniel, Cristina etc).

Please tell us what you like and dislike about this area:

The Wullcomb is in a great area next to the town, with lots of different genres of shops available to you, as well the retail units downstairs being available to visitors and tenants.

Please share one thing (or more) which you wish you had known before you moved in:

I wish I had known that I could’ve moved into the building earlier!

What is the best feature of your home:

The best feature or the home really is the space available and the comfort ability which is provided as it really has a homely feel.
