Fun, modern, and pet friendly!

Review Date Jan 2021

We moved in when the building had just completed construction and while there were a few growing pains in the beginning, we have loved every single moment at the Forum. The building is soooooo incredibly pet friendly and the community here has kept us giggling with pet photos in the building’s WhatsApp group. The rooftop commons area is just fabulous. The gym (when it’s allowed to be open due to government Covid restrictions) is just fine…it is small but the equipment is all new and reasonably well-equipped (the video feed for spin and boxing classes is pretty great) and as it is only open to residents is rarely overly crowded. My only criticism is that parking onsite seems expensive compared to other options in the city center, so you may want to price check that if you own a car.

Please tell us what you like and dislike about this area:

The property is 10 minutes from the front door of our flat to the station platform at New Street which makes it optimal for rail commuters. There is a bus stop 1/2 block from the front door making bus travel even easier. It is within easy walking distance of both a Tesco Metro and a larger Tesco in the city center. The area is vibrant and diverse, with everything at your fingertips.

Please share one thing (or more) which you wish you had known before you moved in:

I wish I’d known about all of the social activities that are planned by the lovely staff, from holiday parties to monthly quiz nights, it would have made the choice even easier to make!

How has the building management responded to any problems or issues you have raised:

Absolutely. We had an issue with our flat being built without opening windows which led to uncomfortable heat conditions, but this was rectified and our flat is now perfect.

Modern, fun living in the heart of Brum

Review Date Dec 2020

The building is great, very clean and efficient designs. We were on the 8th floor with a balcony view of the city. We loved the two bedroom apartment: all the services and appliances were good and made our days easy and enjoyable. The management and service teams were friendly, responsive, and did their best to make our stay here as good as could be.

The only downside is the “pet rent” – I can understand this monthly charge for dogs, perhaps, since there are public ammeneties such as a dog run that might take some maintenance. But cats are completely self-contained, so I didn’t feel this charge was fair. However, there aren’t many other apartments like this that will take pets, so we went with this even though we didn’t like this extra charge.

Overall a very positive experience, would continue to live here if we weren’t moving for work.

Please tell us what you like and dislike about this area:

This is right next to pretty much the heart of everything in Birmingham. Minutes to walk anywhere, including the train to take you long distances. We could walk to any number of restaurants, bars, shopping, and parks easily and without any planning.

Please share one thing (or more) which you wish you had known before you moved in:

Since this was a new building when we moved in, there were some growing pains, most important of which was the windows. It took the company a while to get them replaced, but they did work tirelessly to make this right and the replacement was well managed. Very impressed with the management overall.

What is the best feature of your home:

Modern design, fun concept with lots of shared areas and activities design to help you get to know your neighbors (at least until Covid hit).

Modern apartment in the city centre

Review Date Jun 2020

The Forum is quite new building with 1 bedroom, 2 bedroom or 3 bedroom apartments in the city centre. The location is definitely one of the best features of this building. Another feature would be lobby with coffee machine which is free to use for all tenants, comfortable arm chairs and plenty of room for those who work from home. There are 3 exterior spaces: rooftop, outdoor lounge and pet area. From the rooftop, you have amazing view either on city centre or Birmingham suburbs on the other side, but it is open only until 11 pm. Outdoor lounge has pizza oven and grill, but you have to be prepared to pay a fee if you would like to use them. I have 1 bedroom apartment which is on the ground floor. It is quite spacious and it has amazing terrace. The apartment was furnished with very stylish furniture and it was all i needed in the beginning.

Please tell us what you like and dislike about this area:

The Forum is in the heart of China Town. Very convenient location, 5 mins walk to train station or 10 mins walk to bus station. Tesco is 1 min by walk. Plent of asian supermarkets, restaurants and also Bullring mall is 5 mins walk.

Please share one thing (or more) which you wish you had known before you moved in:

Opening hours of the rooftop: when we had our viewing they told us, that it would be open 24/7 and it was not when we moved in, it was quite an issue as we have a dog
Fees for using pizza oven or grill

How has the building management responded to any problems or issues you have raised:

Communication with management was never a problem. They responded promptly every time.

Excellent in al aspects

Review Date Feb 2021

I think the Forum is great in all aspects. The facilities are new, clean and safe with a 24 hours reception desk, gym facilities, free coffee machine etc. The location is great with walking distance to New Street train station and Digbeth Coach station. All the staff is very fiendly and the management is always looking after your needs. I’ve lived in this property for 2 years and I just extended my contract for another year as I’m very happy living in this property.

The Forum (thumbs up!)

Review Date Jan 2021

There was a wonderful community experience at The Forum. I miss it very much. Beautiful apartment’s in a great location. Loved the gym! (and coffee machine when you’re on the run!). Stunning views from the top of the building, where you can catchup with the neighbours and pets. Friendly staff and security, always happy to help and respond to requests very efficiently and quickly. Thanks to everyone, Salma, Jodie etc who were a huge support to us, when we needed to relocate. Miss you all.

Please tell us what you like and dislike about this area:

Terrific location, close to Tesco, and local bars, theatres and food places. A stones throw away from the bigger city centre too.

Please share one thing (or more) which you wish you had known before you moved in:

I cant remember if there was anything I wish I’d known. 🙂

How has the building management responded to any problems or issues you have raised:

Our French bulldog kept jumping over the back garden terrance fence into next doors terrace. The Forum team, built a barrier to make it impossible for the dog to keep on doing it, decorating it with pant pots and niceties to make it better for everyone. Any small problems like shower issues were quickly sorted.

Great building in a great location

Review Date Jan 2021

We absolutely loved living at the Forum – the flat itself was perfect for our needs and the building was full of friendly neighbours and their pets. The communal facilities were brilliant (including varied social events, a comfortable residents’ lounge, a tasty coffee machine, regular treats for tenants, etc), and the staff were all incredibly friendly, helpful and willing to go the extra mile.

Please tell us what you like and dislike about this area:

Forum is perfectly located for easy access to central Birmingham, with train stations and shops just minutes away.

Please share one thing (or more) which you wish you had known before you moved in:

I would be aware that one floor of the property is rented out in a similar way to an air bnb facility – as such, the building is shared with short term guests which can affect the community atmosphere on occasion.

What is the best feature of your home:

The handy location as well as the unique, friendly atmosphere that made it feel like ‘home’.

Great place! Recommend

Review Date Jan 2021

The Forum was my house for 2 years and I could not have choose a better place. Great facilities like gym, bbq area, games room, rooftop and much more. The reception Team is just great and always happy to help. They also have maintenance on site should you need it. The Manager, Salma is such a lovely person, really helpful in everything i needed and the plus: she is always looking to get nice events within the building. Great community as well. I would definitely recommend for young people looking for a place in the city centre.

Please tell us what you like and dislike about this area:

I had some issues with the management in the very beginning and once all was sorted, had no more issues. Just for information, this management team no longer works there.

Please share one thing (or more) which you wish you had known before you moved in:

Before I moved i was promised a gym that was only opened 2 months later. But this was sorted after

How has the building management responded to any problems or issues you have raised:

Yes, very helpful and willing to take the responsibility for what happened

Building is great but it’s the people that make it superb.

Review Date Nov 2020

The building itself feels much more like a hotel than an apartment block and the facilities are incredibly good. Sometimes with these types of developments the communal areas can feel shoehorned in or sterile but all of the facilities here feel genuinely useful and premium.
The building doesn’t make the place though, its the people. The staff that work here are incredible and do an amazing job at making the building feel like a community. Salma and Andy are always incredibly approachable, helpful and professional and make coming down to main community areas a delight.
The apartments themselves are well furnished and spacious, there can be a lack of storage space for bigger items but floor space is abundant. All in all its a great place to live, I have lived in a lot of city centre buildings but can see myself here for quite a time to come.

Please tell us what you like and dislike about this area:

The area itself at first can seem a little “up and coming” due to the area to the rear where the markets once stood. However there are plus points to this in its current state. For a city centre location it is very quiet, despite being so close to everything. There are a bunch of great bars and restaurants around and The Bullring and Train station are a 5min walk. It’s exciting to be in an area with so much development and new things happening all the time. This is great for young professionals and and folks who enjoy urban culture.

Please share one thing (or more) which you wish you had known before you moved in:

As stated above I would say make sure you have enough storage space. A lot of the apartments offer more storage than other so be aware of how much you will need to store.

How has the building management responded to any problems or issues you have raised:

Any repairs or concerns have always been dealt with super swiftly, having an on site maintenance team means issues that would usually take weeks to sort like a faulty washing machine or broken handle are dealt with in a matter of hours. It would feel like a step down going back to the single landlord now.

A nice central place to live

Review Date Nov 2020

The building layout is easy to navigate with plenty of amenities to accommodate residents, be it the gym, outdoor spaces or social areas.

The reception team and management are incredibly friendly and welcoming; Salma on reception will go far out of her way to help iron out any issues I may have in the utmost professional and efficient manner, making my first year here a pleasurable living experience.

Please tell us what you like and dislike about this area:

The central location is so convenient, be it for social life, shopping or travel. It’s a 5 minute walk to New Street Station.

Please share one thing (or more) which you wish you had known before you moved in:

The management team will lay on nice events for the residents now and then. Even during lockdown safer options like free ice cream or pizzas for the residents to maintain the positive energy but also help local businesses.

How has the building management responded to any problems or issues you have raised:

Management are very fast to react to any problems I may have had, and always readily available and contactable through email and communal chat.

Great Location with easy access to any place in the City Centre. Clean and Nice Building with many facilities and excellent management helped a lot in any issues especially Salma and Jodie. A friendly community. All Concierge Staff are co-operative and nice especially Andy.
