Find No. 2 Upper Riverside in Greenwich Peninsula ‘s latest neighbourhood. This Knight Dragon mix-use scheme is home to 205 residential units.  The units comprise a mix of studio, one two and also three-bedroom apartments. Designed by Tom Dixon the focus  was on culture, entertainment and wellbeing. Nearby North Greenwich tube station offers residents a speedy commute to Canary Wharf, London Bridge as well as, Waterloo. In addition to sky high views resident benefit from being on the waters edge home to bars, cafes and restaurants.

Lively riverside area with plenty to see and do

We live in Building 2 and it honestly feels like we’re living in a hotel. The concierge are really friendly and I always feel safer knowing they’re there. Our flat is only a one bedroom but feels so spacious – the loungeroom doubles as a study and there’s so much natural light. The regular Greenwich Peninsula emails are helpful for keeping up to date on what’s going on in the development and the area in general.

Please tell us what you like and dislike about this area:

Obviously being right on the river is one of the main drawcards of living here, but I’ve been surprised at how lively this area is. There are amazing restaurants and cafes within a short walking distance, especially important for a coffee lover like myself, including Hej coffee, Gentleman’s Barristers in the O2, Eat Fan and more. The Outlet at the O2 is literally next door and has some amazing discounts.

In addition to these permanent fixtures, there is also SAMPLE which is a seasonal urban design market. Cocktails, beer, live music and amazing local London designers make the area even better. Getting around is also super easy, taking only 30 minutes to get into Central London which makes my work commute a breeze.

One thing that could be seen as less than ideal is that there often loud announcements at North Greenwich station during the night. The station can also get really busy if there is a concert on at the O2 but generally you can just avoid peak times by keeping up to date about what’s on. In my view it’s a small price to pay.

There’s a lot of construction in this area which can be a bit noisy at times

What is the best feature of your home:

The onsite gym and pool and concierge. Being able to role out of bed and get to the gym in 2 minutes is amazing!

The daytime concierge are very friendly and helpful. However, I find those in the might less so.

The development is modern and slick. The facilities in the pool and gym are exceptional, and the block is cleaned constantly and well maintained.

The bin store is also always well managed also.

The area is quiet, despite being so close to The O2, and the many bars, restaurants and shops. It is also very convenient for all methods of public transport.

The balcony glass doesn’t always come across as stable.

Beautiful building

The design is beautiful and unique. I moved in a few months ago and I am very happy with my stay. Lobby is perfect with coffee. The design and style is unique.

Love the bathrooms and the view. River Thames never looked so good. And so close to the O2. Perfect location.

Modern but small flat

Design is modern, swimming pool and gym are good. I think the flat is small compared to millennium villages. I hope the rooms can be bigger. Concierge is helpful. Greenwich Peninsula management team is helpful too, usually respond very quickly. Nothing more to add.

Want to have more restaurants and more trains/tubes to city centre directly. Sometimes plane can be very noisy.

Please share one thing (or more) which you wish you had known before you moved in:

I would like to know the plane noise, the furniture quality.

If there is one thing you would change about your flat or property what would it be:

More space. And also the mattress doesn’t fit the bed. It’s very uncomfortable to sleep in the bed. So we’ve been sleeping on the ground for months. I contacted the landlord twice through building management team but got no response.

Over promised and under delivered

Knight Dragon over promised and under delivered with this development. Finishes are poor and multiple snagging and design issues. Owners have no input into the running of the development and are asked to pay for absurd items such as vending machines etc.

There is no provision for visitor parking. In 2 1/2 years there have been multiple issues of anti social behaviour, including a police car chase that ended outside the development.

Wish I had known how different the reality was from what the sales and marketing team promoted to me.

How has the building management responded to any problems or issues you have raised:

Lee Baron are wholly unwilling or incapable of holding KD to account to finish the buildings properly or rectify and leaseholder/ resident issues.

The building is great and the people working there are always polite and friendly. We love using the swimming pool and gym. We haven’t taken advantage of the cinema or balcony areas yet but it’s something we want to try. The common areas are great when you have to work from home.

The overall area is lovely. The O2 has many shops and restaurants and being close to the river is lovely during summer.

The doors inside bang when the windows are open which can be annoying.

The walls are a little thin and we’ve experienced some maintenance issues. All were resolved.

The building design is beautiful – both interior and exterior. Concierge is at the reception of building 2. The staff are brilliant – handle parcels, deliveries, and help with building management issues. Facilities in building 2 specifically include the swimming pool and gym, both are of high quality, as well as outdoor terrace area.

Next door to the O2 which has a fantastic range of restaurants, so many different cuisines to choose from. In addition to many high street retailers if you fancy a shop. Sadly no book or game retailer, the main focus is fashion.

Tesco Express is around the corner for all your grocery needs, in addition to a pharmacy. No post office locally however. It is a 12 minute bus ride or 25 minute walk to the Charlton retail park which contains the grocery stores Sainsburys, M&S, ASDA in addition to massive selection of other stores and an IKEA. Walk can be taken either along the pier or through the green spaces, both routes very nice walks. Bus is very frequent and can be taken from the Greenwich bus station.

Greenwich tube station offering Jubilee services is very close, instantly connecting you to the centre of London and beyond. Furthermore the building is also next to the North Greenwich pier whereby you can catch the Uber Boat into the centre.

Large open spaces between the residential flats and the O2, in addition to seating areas near the pier. Only limited traffic allowed which makes the area very peaceful and free of cars and congestion. Can get a little noisy at times (roller skating has become popular) but the windows of the flat are very good sound blocking so no issues.

When moving furniture into the flat the walls mark very easily so take some extra care.

If there is one thing you would change about your flat or property what would it be:

Add air conditioning – otherwise I can’t really think of anything else.

It seems odd you need to get in the lifts with bin bags in such a well designed building. There are often problems with post not arriving or apparently having arrived and not being here. Staff are friendly and building is clean, an enjoyable experience

my building was not managed as most of them are but I have a private landlord instead, I likely would not have picked the apartment, would prefer fully managed as it makes things so much easier

the view from my apartment was a big seller, as well as the proximity to the pool which I use frequently

Building 2 is superb

Everyone I bring to my building thinks I live in a hotel! Building 2 is high spec, amazing gym and pool facilities, fantastic service from the concierge team, and overall an incredible place to live.

My one disappointment has been our property manager. She frequently ignores our emails, doesn’t offer solutions to our issues, and in general hasn’t been pleasant to work with.

The area is phenomenal. Amazing transport, great walks, unlimited entertainment. We love it.

Nothing! Our agent was fantastic in giving us all the information we needed.

The 2UR is a great place to live with excellent facilities, great design and fantastic roof terrace. I love all the communal facilities. The concierge is super helpful and provide a sense of safety. The Renew floor and swimming area area great. The wet room is often not working – perhaps it could be converted in a sauna as easier to maintain?

I love the open air space and the Tide however local shops, restaurants, bars etc are still awaited to provide a nice “village”-feeling . It would be good to have independent shops for food/wine/flowers. More choices of open air restaurants. It would be nice to have a “Bermondsey High Street /Borough market” feeling. Parking for guests/friends is a huge problem. Knight Dragon should offer residents some bookable space in the underground parking. I am really worried about the buses parking by the river. Certainly it will not give a luxurious look and it will increase traffic

Buying a flat off plan is always difficult as it is never as it is imagined

Definitely more storage space and thinking of practicality of living.

Beautiful design in a beautiful art areas. Close to river, close to future art district, close to food sources. Given proximity to O2, can get quite crowded if there are events or on weekends. But rest of the times is very nice and peaceful and calm
