The development has a large communal garden which is hard yo find in London. Unfortunately the bins are underground and fill up very fast, also the truck that empties this bins breaks down often and the local council only has one truck that can collect underground bins, so we just have to wait for the truck to be fixed while the bins are overflowing and smelly.

Please tell us what you like and dislike about this area:

There are a variety of shops around the development, there is a large Morrisons store just under the flats. And many coffee shops and restaurants within walking distance.

Please share one thing (or more) which you wish you had known before you moved in:

I would look into how safe the area is, find out about crime rate around the development.

How has the building management responded to any problems or issues you have raised:

Building management often don’t answer calls. But when they do answer they try their best to help.

Read this review before even considering to buy here

Review Date May 2023

I own an apartment at Hallsville Quarters developed by LinkCity. 5 years after build complete, we are still struggling with build issues including failed ESW1 due to developer cutting corners whilst building, recurring leaks due to building construction issues, ventilation not working for over 1 year due to which many flats having moulds and poor ventilation. All of these has been due to inconsiderate construction and design of the buildings. If there are potential buyers reading this, be very careful I wish I had know before I bought here.

Please tell us what you like and dislike about this area:

Poor quality of development. Recurring leaks and other building construction issues. Due to building quality and design there is also an overhead on maintenance cost and is increasing every year

Please share one thing (or more) which you wish you had known before you moved in:

I wish there were more honest reviews and I had know about them before buying here

How has the building management responded to any problems or issues you have raised:

Have raised many times but ignored by building management

Worst Property Management company

Review Date Jun 2023

Service charge for a 2 bedroom flat more than doubled since the purchase in 04/2018 to £338/month in 04/2023! No receipts or details are ever given to residents about how this money is spent. After many complains from a majority of residents about the unjustified increases in service charge, One Housing made a few “paybacks” for 2018-2019 without explaining what they did wrong to calculate in the past. After a flooding the buildings were evacuated in October 2022 and the whole ordeal was very poorly managed, some people ending up homeless in the middle of the night with hotel promises unfulfilled.

Please tell us what you like and dislike about this area:

Mobile phones robberies are a daily occurrence. Cycle store was broken into 2 times in 2 weeks with over 50no. stolen.

Please share one thing (or more) which you wish you had known before you moved in:

I wish I knew how incompetent One Housing was so I can avoid them

How has the building management responded to any problems or issues you have raised:

They don’t respond usually, and when they do the people handling the issues have no clue or try to push the responsibility on other companies.

Pleasant place to live

Review Date Sep 2021

The development has been pleasantly designed: the spaces are well curated and you have a sense of security walking home. The path is well lit and there are step free access to most places. We used to have fly tipping problems but the building manager sorted it by adding extra bins. The only downside is that the building site in front of the development is really loud: windows are well insulated but when open, the noise is really disrupting. They work every day from 8 to 6, including Saturday mornings.

Please tell us what you like and dislike about this area:

The development is really conveniently located next to Canning Town station, which is perfect for commuting to Central London. There’s a gym and a grocery store on site, as well as a few coffee shops and restaurants. However most of the shops are currently empty which limits your options. You are still very close to Barking Road, which has a post office and several other shops as well as Royal Wharf and the Emirates cable car (15 min by walk).

Please share one thing (or more) which you wish you had known before you moved in:

Definitely I wished we were told about the building site times and loudness.

How has the building management responded to any problems or issues you have raised:

Yes, they have always been easy to reach via email and always provided us with necessary information.

Excellent location, and sufficient facilities with a great podium garden and a rooftop garden, but managing agent could be better!

Verified Resident

Review Date Oct 2021

Build quality while pretty good, is not as high as the level of what it was being marketed at the time. The gym is also surprisingly too small.

Otherwise a good development with sufficient facilities especially the podium garden is great and most importantly excellent location, especially with direct basement access to shops like Morrisons etc.

Meanwhile the managing agent itself has been the main issue that is disappointing. Just very passive, not competent enough, and not transparent enough. Dealing with issues, they are not prompt enough. If this is improved, there would be little to fault this development.

Please tell us what you like and dislike about this area:

Access to transport links are excellent, with DLR and Tube just opposite, as well as bus terminal too.

Availability of shops/restaurants are also excellent, being in basically a newly developed town centre, and only getting better.

Traffic noise is something that can be improved. Bin collections is also still a bit problematic with the bins are basically too small and easily overfilled.

Please share one thing (or more) which you wish you had known before you moved in:

How good the managing agent would be. How responsible the developers would be in addressing snags.

How has the building management responded to any problems or issues you have raised:

Not prompt and swift enough, very passive and need lots of chasing. They also did not do proper handover from the developers leading to ongoing recurring issues where the managing agent just didn’t seem to have a good hold of the problem.

Good place to live

Review Date Sep 2021

Hallsville quarter is a nice place to live, modern and clean. The position is excellent for Morrisons downstairs and the tube and bus station at 2 minutes walk.
The flats are very new and quite.
The garden is looked after very well.
The only problem is the rubbish. 3 bins are not enough for 85 apartments, plus the building management team is very poor in proving the fob key. We are still waiting for it since March, not even had a response from them.

Please tell us what you like and dislike about this area:

Good position, new flats, quiet place to live.
Poor rubbish management

Please share one thing (or more) which you wish you had known before you moved in:

Getting the fob key

How has the building management responded to any problems or issues you have raised:

Not very helpful at all. Our agency and ourself tried many times to get the fob key for months and still had no reply

The development overall is great

Verified Resident
Verified Resident
Review Date Sep 2021

The development overall is great. However it is quite frustrating having to go all the way outside the door to take the bins out and half the time the bins are out of order which means people fly tips. The private bins are really small for nearly 150 apartments. No one has the time to walk around hallsville quarter and find other bins. There should be bin chutes in the building somewhere.

Please tell us what you like and dislike about this area:

It’s quite hard for visitors to find us because the door sign for ‘discovery tower’ is a small plaque above the keypad. There should be a bigger sign either on the door or above written ‘Discovery Tower’. Also basement park is there’s strong gas smells when it rains and an annoying alarm sound.

Please share one thing (or more) which you wish you had known before you moved in:

The small private bins outside the building which are hardly working, the difficulty in finding the building because the name on the plaque is really small & the gas smell that made me vomit twice in basement 2 car park

How has the building management responded to any problems or issues you have raised:

Yes they have been very efficient and quick to respond or deal with any problems

It has private common area as well as private roof terrace which is very handy to have closed secured area especially if you hace kids etc. the community of neighbours are great, all working class families or individuals. However management requires lots of improvements

Please tell us what you like and dislike about this area:

Great links to DLR, Jubilee tube line and busses. Morrisons and more supermarkets are just downstairs!

Please share one thing (or more) which you wish you had known before you moved in:

Shops and development plan of the area, the buildings and facilities planned

How has the building management responded to any problems or issues you have raised:

Unfortunately management requires lots of improvement
