We believe the best information about a residential development comes from the people living there. Owners and tenants have a lot of useful information to share with their prospective neighbours, not just on the property itself and its locality, but also on the developer and the building’s management.

I've lived in William Beveridge House for over 6 years. The development is basic in construction, and shockingly designed. My line of apartments has an imbalanced footprint - a huge boiler cupboard that dominates the open kitchen/living room space, and an oversized hallway space that you could throw a disco in. I undertook an immediate development project when I moved in to move the boiler to the hallway, at significant cost, but which has improved the design of the flat. I think it was very poorly and quickly designed, and complete with ugly and basic finishings. The property management (Clarion) is staggeringly bad. Easily one of the most incompetent organisations I've ever dealt with, either personally or professionally, in all my years. I currently have my Service Charge suspended (since last May 2020), on top of a Service Charge that I cancelled for 18 months in 2016.... all relating to a complete absence of Service. I understand that a number of other residents have done the same.

Overall I would say I enjoy living in this development. Everyone here is pleasant. I like the fact that the balconies on the road are in a cove, keeping the wind away. The communal areas (lift, stairs, hallways, lobby) are generally quite clean - a few scuffs on the walls from bike tires which could be repainted. Carpets are clean. I have never needed maintenance to my flat, however I noticed the lift was out for a couple of days but was fixed promptly.

The overall design and look is great. Doesn't feel old or dated. The facilities can be a little bit of a problem as there are issues with pipes and mold. I've also struggled with the pressure of the hot water. Everything is fine. The built in wash machine doesn't dry very well so that's important. It's nice.

The design of the building itself is quite nice, however, some apartments may have restricted views from the window. My apartment has a balcony facing the Roman Road which is nice, though others face Tesco and Poundland delivery gates (deliveries are during early mornings usually). I love the fact that there is a Tesco Metro in the building and an Anytime Fitness gym.

The building is fine and works for us as a young family. Clarion as a property agency are terrible. They are slow to respond to issues and there is a distinct lack of transparency in their accounting. We often get bills which are not clear and getting these clarified if very difficult. Repairs are often poor and shoddy and Clarion don't seem to care for residents much.
