East Village is a fantastic place to live, offering a great balance between city life and green space. There’s a wide range of local shops, cafes and restaurants just a short walk away, and the area feels very safe and well maintained. The Olympic Park and various green spaces make it perfect for walking, running or relaxing. Transport links are excellent – Stratford and Stratford International stations are within walking distance, giving access to the Central, Jubilee, DLR, Overground and National Rail lines. The area is also generally quiet with minimal traffic noise, and there’s been no issue with antisocial behaviour in my experience. Bin collections are regular and the streets are kept clean.

How has the building management responded to any problems or issues you have raised:

The building management team is responsive and helpful. Any issues I’ve raised — such as minor repairs or questions about communal areas — have been addressed promptly. They keep the building clean, secure and well-run, and it’s clear they take pride in maintaining a good standard.

Please share one thing (or more) which you wish you had known before you moved in:

The area is very well-connected and lively, which is a huge plus — but it can get a bit busy around events in the Olympic Park, especially weekends. Also, Get Living’s no-deposit model is great, but just be aware of the terms if you ever choose to leave early or transfer flats.

The area is losing is vibrancy with a lot of great cafes and bars shut down over the last years. There is a general lack of amenities such as gyms and pools in the area. Supermarkets and parking can’t cope with residential demand.

How has the building management responded to any problems or issues you have raised:

Yes they are quite responsive though used to be better

Please share one thing (or more) which you wish you had known before you moved in:

Heating and hot water provider is a joke and overpriced

Very responsive when it is internal but if it’s external dependant bit of hiccups

That furniture was more than enough could be less to make it feel a bigger house

Great pet friendly place in a not so welcoming Stratford brand

The area is very dog friendly. Many pet owners live here and walk their pet (mainly dogs) in the neighbourhood, so you’ll meet a lot of pet friends here. Shops are mainly local small businesses so you won’t have the same chained stores around. It is just a few minutes away from Westfield Stratford, thus this is very convenient.

How has the building management responded to any problems or issues you have raised:

Not super fast but they generally get things fixed within a week or two.

Please share one thing (or more) which you wish you had known before you moved in:

The crime rate here is still a bit high mainly on phone snatching problem.
