Cortland Broad St, B15

Please tell us about the good and bad aspects of living in your local area:

It's a great location for travel, the tram stop and bus stops are less than a minute walk and the Five Ways train station is only about 10 minutes walk away. It's designed as a car-free building, but if you do drive, there is paid on -street parking and a large multistorey car park nearby. There are plenty of bars, and restaurants on Broad Street right outside and Bridley Place is very close as well. Though the noise from Broad Street on a Friday or Saturday night can be pretty loud if your flat is facing the street (though you can't hear it at all if you're facing the other way). I love that there is a cinema right outside the building and 2 more within about 15 minutes walk. It's also super convenient that there are 3 mini supermarkets near by, and a big Morrisons 5-10 minutes walk away. The views from the building a spectacular from any direction, even if you have a low flat the communal lounges on the top floor will show you all the views you need!

How has the building management responded to any problems or issues you have raised:

We've not been in the building too long so haven't had the chance to report any issues yet

The water pressure is quite low, but it's great that the flats all have an air source heat pump to heat the water!

After a while, we came to appreciate the convenience of being near major grocery stores and the bus stop.

How has the building management responded to any problems or issues you have raised:

Very fast, You can reach support either through the app or by phone.

The location is slightly in the direction of the wind, which makes the apartments a bit cold.

There’s lots of groceries stores nearby which is great also the accessible transport. The only problem is the antisocial behaviours but I sometimes think it’s fun

How has the building management responded to any problems or issues you have raised:

I had an issue with the sockets in the living room and they gave us a very quick fix

When we moved in there were a few hidden fees we didn’t know about

i love how close cortland is to brindley place, the canals and the centre of birmingham. there is a tram stop right outside and it is a short walk to train stations. it is great being able to walk to the jewellery quarter, edgbaston and town

How has the building management responded to any problems or issues you have raised:

issues have been dealt with quite quickly and repairs have been made to a good standard

i wish i had known the rules around reserving the communal spaces - there are strict limits on times you can use these and how many people you can invite

Please tell us about the good and bad aspects of living in your local area:

It is close to the main strip of bars in birmingham which makes it quite noisy. Also you can hear some traffic noises as well. Otherwise it is a very convenient location with the train station and the bullring being about 15 minutes away

How has the building management responded to any problems or issues you have raised:

The maintenance came the very next day that the complaint was filed.

The heater is quite small and electricity can run expensive.
