A Nice Corner of Chiswick

Resident From New in 2014 (Shared Owner)

The development is well designed with large, airy apartments which are a lot bigger than the norm. They all have balconies and floor to ceiling windows and are of a good specification. The development overlooks the Gunnersbury Triangle, a local nature reserve. There is a nursery conveniently located on the ground floor and also a playground outside for toddlers. The facilities are well run with a Residents' Association keeping an eye on expenditure and addressing any issues. There are solar panels on the roof which contribute the service charge overall fund.

Please tell us about the good and bad aspects of living in your local area:

Chiswick High Road is well served by many nice eateries, cafes and bars, a big Sainsbury's and a decent sized Waitrose. There are plenty of green spaces such as Turnham Green, Chiswick Back Common and Chiswick House and Gardens. There is no traffic on the development as it is set back from the road with private, controlled parking. Transport links are excellent with Gunnersbury tube/overground, Chiswick Park and Turnham Green tube stations all centrally located. The Piccadilly and District lines do run past the development, but this doesn't spoil it. Bin collections, gardening, litter picking are all regular and work well to keep the environment pleasant. There is a nicely designed bridge from the development to the nearby business park, this has a large play area around a pretty lake which is available for all to enjoy.

Please share one thing (or more) which you wish you had known before you moved in:

The apartment can get rather warm in summer due to its excellent heat retaining properties as it is very well insulated, has a lot of glass and is pretty much airtight with the windows and doors closed, the latter features obviously make it very cosy in winter however! There is no gas in the block and a communal system is used, this means 24 hour 'all you can use' heating and hot water paid for out of your service charge., i.e. there is no separate bill.

What is the best feature of your home:

The very generous proportions, the sense of light and airiness and the overall build quality of the block came as a pleasant surprise when purchasing the apartment from new. It feels solid and secure and is extremely easy to manage, with very little maintenance and no major issues since purchase.

A lovely place to live.

The development is literally a five minute walk from Chiswick Park tube station, is set back from the road and is a very nice design. It overlooks a nature reserve and has a secluded feel. There is now a very stylish bridge leading from the development over the railway into the nearby Business Park., further enhancing transport links as this leads to Gunnersbury Station. The tube lines going past are a bit noisy, but one gets used to this quite quickly. Overall, it's a great place to live with a nice community spirit.

Please tell us about the good and bad aspects of living in your local area:

Like: the interior space of the apartments is very generous. The nature reserve is lovely to look out onto. Travel links are excellent and close by. The buildings are a really great design outside. People generally know each other and are friendly and respectful. Dislike: tube noise.

How has the building management responded to any problems or issues you have raised:

Yes, some things have taken longer than others, but they are all dressed eventually. This is part of living in a manger block!

Please share one thing (or more) which you wish you had known before you moved in:

The apartments are very well insulated and cosy, there is no gas in the development and unlimited 24 hour hot water and heating is included in the service charge.

Great location, beautiful flat

It's a great place to live with kids, there is a park outside for them to enjoy, and i can keep an eye in them through the window. It's very safe around here, so i dont have to worry about them. The management are not helpful, they are for sure the worst aspect of living here and i would not recommend. The concierge however is very helpful and friendly.

Please tell us about the good and bad aspects of living in your local area:

It is very easy to travel to different parts of London due to the transport links close by, even though the tube next door us horrifically loud

How has the building management responded to any problems or issues you have raised:

Yes, but they took weeks to respond and did not seem concerned. There have been several complaints and ive heard from a neighbour that they are trying to improve

Please share one thing (or more) which you wish you had known before you moved in:

I wish i had of known how awful the management are, practically non existent.

We are sun facing so it can get quite hot in the summer. Ive never had any huge problems but the managment fix things quite quickly for our neighbours quickly. Theres a playground here which is great for my daughter. I feel safe with her here as the area is very good.

Please tell us about the good and bad aspects of living in your local area:

Its close to the tube station and the supermarket. The tube noise is quite loud as its right next door

Please share one thing (or more) which you wish you had known before you moved in:

There is no parking licence, there are not enough private spaces for parking for the amount of residents

Please share one thing (or more) which you would change about your development:

I would make the kitchen space bigger, its quite small but apart from that we love our flat
