This new-build development by Telford Homes is situated in Bow, London. It offers one, two and three-bedroom apartments and a handful of ‘sky villas’.  These are a mixture of two and three-bedroom duplex apartments. Also, Bow Garden Square is within close proximity to Mile End tube station (for the District line) and Devons Road DLR. Therefore, it means easy access to the City and Canary Wharf.

The brickwork looks pretty from the street. The shared ownership flats have kitchens that are impossible to clean.
Would be nice to have some planters by the doors.
Ample space for a couple in a one bed. The neighbours are all pretty close which is odd for a block of this size.

Please tell us what you like and dislike about this area:

Really close to everything you could need.

Please share one thing (or more) which you wish you had known before you moved in:

That there are no options to change internet supplier you are stuck with the one option.
Also, it’s not easy to clean the windows despite being told many times they are tilt and turn

How has the building management responded to any problems or issues you have raised:

Yes, they fixed the issues with the bikestore but not the postboxes

Excellent value property at a high standard

Review Date Apr 2022

Such a great development that has a real sense of community. I love that the put a park in foe the children to play and the small number of apartments means that it feels like a real community you live in. Really impressed with the developer and would happily recommend.

Please tell us what you like and dislike about this area:

Excellent development, well thought out properties. Love our home and the community it has become

Please share one thing (or more) which you wish you had known before you moved in:

The energy provider is not safe and means you can have uncapped energy prices which lead to a 3.5 x hike in prices this year alone after a major hike last year. It means we can’t actually afford to put heating on and only just afford to use the hot water

How has the building management responded to any problems or issues you have raised:

Yes but can at times be slow. Worried about rising costs of the development especially having a commercial energy scheme meaning our bills are now extortionate

I rate the development really high in terms of typical urban architecture

Verified Resident

Review Date Apr 2022

I rate the development really high in terms of typical urban architecture, everything within the building and flat is well planned. Someone who designed the flat (we have 1 bedroom) did it for sure based on plenty of experience, as it’s really comfortable for around 50 sq m. Living room with open kitchen, bedroom with huge wardrobe, pretty big storage room, kitchen furniture, bathroom, balcony: I wouldn’t change anything after living here for 3 years. The only problems are caused by appliances unfortunately, I would never recommend anything by Smeg, we had problems with washing machine, electric stove and microwave so far.

Please tell us what you like and dislike about this area:

Walking distance to 5 tube lines (Central, Dustrict and H&S from Mile End station, also DLR and Jubilee Lines, so you get quickly everywhere. There are few great pubs around and proximity of Canary Wharf with pubs and restaurants, pretty central location anyway. In terms of shops there are Lidl and Tesco 5mins walk. Neighbourhood is pretty nice, and real community of the closest neighbours in the building. Mile End and Victoria Park really close, also Thames Path if you like to run with great views. What I don’t like is the litter on the street which is problem in whole Tower Hamlets. It’s not perfect for WFH due to noisy school downstairs

Please share one thing (or more) which you wish you had known before you moved in:

I’d like to know I would be working from home someday, previously I didn’t care about noisy school.

How has the building management responded to any problems or issues you have raised:

Yes, we always could get help with any issues we had.

Bow garden square is a great development

Review Date Aug 2020

The design and layout of this development is great. Facilities are good – bike store for residents, and there is a strong sense of community among residents. The management agent, granted like most development, can be improved but since a lot of residents are proposing a change of management agent, this problem will be solved.

Please tell us what you like and dislike about this area:

We really enjoyed our time living here. The location is very convenient for central London and the layout and design is great. The views are great as well.

Please share one thing (or more) which you wish you had known before you moved in:

The view is much better than expected!

If there is one thing you would change about your flat or property what would it be:

I would like a better management company ( currently Ian Gibbs is really not great)

Excellent views and facilities, topped off with great transport links

Review Date Aug 2020

The design and facilities are excellent, the purpose built park is fantastic for my children and they are always playing out. What’s great is that once you are inside you cannot hear anything from outside and there is a real sense of calm. The design of the development means you are not overlooked at all and the skyline views are simply stunning. To look over London from the balcony is so unique. The management has been fantastic since I moved in and I have no complaints whatsoever. They have all been so friendly and kind.

Please tell us what you like and dislike about this area:

Excellent transport links is what makes this place great to live, it doesn’t take long to get into the city via tube. Local shops and restaurants are fantastic and the service especially in restaurants is great – their or a real positive energy and vibe from most places here.

Please share one thing (or more) which you wish you had known before you moved in:

I wish I would have known a few transport routes into the city as well as a little bit more information about local schools.

How has the building management responded to any problems or issues you have raised:

As previously mentioned, they have been so friendly and helpful and are always quick to send someone round if necessary

Modern, good sound proofing, spacious rooms, very high ceilings, balconies have roofs. All in all a good space. Big disappointment is the lack of concierge – there had been many instances of post theft and it is hard to stop this given the location of the post boxes. Lot of theft too on bikes

Please tell us what you like and dislike about this area:

Local Lidl is amazing. 15 mins walk to Westferry and Mile End for 3 tube lines

Please share one thing (or more) which you wish you had known before you moved in:

That there is a fair amount of drug dealing in the area

What is the best feature of your home:

The high ceiling is very high and the entire space is spacious

Fantastic Development with beautiful views and excellent transport links

Verified Resident

Review Date Aug 2020

The design is great because it looks very sophisticated and definitely stands out from other buildings. In terms of ease of access, the development is very easy to navigate and clearly signposted which make easy for guests. The facilities are excellent with the balconies providing beautiful views of the canals. Building and property management are so effective with their responses and solutions, and are very quick to arrange call outs when needed.

Please tell us what you like and dislike about this area:

This development is in a brilliant location. It’s close to several high street shops and many different types of restaurants with outstanding food from all over the world! The transport links are so handy too, with less than 10 minutes on the train to central London.

Please share one thing (or more) which you wish you had known before you moved in:

I would have appreciated a map or walkthrough of how to get to the nearby stations as I did find it difficult to them when I first arrived.

What is the best feature of your home:

The best feature for me is the balcony overlooking the canal. In the summer months it has been great to have a Sri k and watch the sunset in London.

Very good development

Verified Resident

Review Date Aug 2020

Development is great, my flat is small (smallest I looked at) but they make the space work (underfloor heating for example). Been to other new builds and this place feels like they put in just a little extra effort on quality. Quality fittings, design feels sturdy, sound proofing seems pretty decent.

Please tell us what you like and dislike about this area:

Area is definitely “up and coming” but not there yet, feels like early regeneration. Not much by way of coffee shops etc, but I’m nitpicking.

Please share one thing (or more) which you wish you had known before you moved in:

I didn’t move to Tower Hamlets because I was wanting a vibrant local scene (in comparison to Clapham/Brixton etc). That said, it’s pretty good – I like it, locals seem fine there’s just not that much going on (at the moment). It’s very well connected though.

How has the building management responded to any problems or issues you have raised:

They’ve been fine so far, had a few issues with theft in bike stores and they’ve increased security there

Bow Garden Square – recommended

Verified Resident

Review Date Aug 2020

After living in the building for over a year I am quite pleased with the quality of the build. I can’t comment on all flats but at least the layout of my 1 bed is well thought through in terms of optimal use of space. The lack of concierge, gym etc. is perfect as it keeps the service charge low. So far building management has been prompt with resolving any maintenance issues.

Please tell us what you like and dislike about this area:

I absolutely love the area and I think it is perfect for active people with the proximity of Mile End Park & Victoria Park – perfect for running and cycling! Transport links are very good including airport connections and distance to the City is still easily managed by bike! There are local shops which make grocery shopping easy and there are also a few nice cafes and restaurants / pubs around. One dowside is the constant issue of bicycle theft which is common in London but quite a big problem on this area.

Please share one thing (or more) which you wish you had known before you moved in:

How noisy the school downstairs is! Luckily since I am on a higher floor this is not an issue but I can understand why neighbours from lower floors complain so this is something to definitely consider here ( especially if your viewing is outside of school hours)

What is the best feature of your home:

Layout of the flat with great use of space, lots of light and wonderful view of canary wharf!

Fantastic value for money

Review Date Aug 2020

The development is built to a high standard. Designed by a Pollard Thomas Edwards, it is the winner of many residential awards in 2019.
Flats are spacious, filled with lots natural light and finished to a high specification, including underfloor heating.
It doesn’t have a gym or concierge, but to be honest I prefer it as the device charge is low.
Telford have been very responsive and helpful in case any minor issues.

Please tell us what you like and dislike about this area:

The development is located in zone 2, walking distance to Mile End tube and Canary Wharf. Handy for me as I work in the wharf. It’s a very quiet and residential area, just 10 minutes cycle from trendy hotspots like Dalston, London fields or Broadway Market.

Please share one thing (or more) which you wish you had known before you moved in:

I already knew the area as I was renting in another Telford development nearby. I wish the area had more cafes and restaurants nearby.

What is the best feature of your home:

I love that is very warm in the winter. Insulation works really well, that coupled with underfloor heating through is the most comfortable and efficient way to keep the perfect temperature in your home.
I really like the design of both kitchen and bathroom. The choice of colours is exactly what I wanted, and the appliances are very good quality.
