Beckton Parkside, by Bellway Homes, sits in Viking Gardens. The development is in a central location being 3 miles from Stratford and 4 miles from Canary Wharf. In addition the A13 is in close proximity making the development appealing to commuters. As well as this, residents benefit from landscaped open space, a concierge service and a children’s play area. Beckton Parkway offers  a range of  1, 2 and 3-bed apartments.

The building has been completed to a good standard, however if you are a cyclist you’re treated as second class I’m afraid. To get bikes out of the bike storage you have to go through three heavy doors which is difficult when holding a bike too. There is an electric gate that could be used but management refuse to let people with just bikes use it. If you have a car though you are allowed to use the electric gate for your bike. But if you don’t have a car you are not allowed. Complained to developer through formal process and got nowhere.

Beckton has plenty of shops in surrounding area. The only issue is the nearest DLR is a 15 minute walk away which adds slightly to commute time.

Not being able to use electric garage gate

If there is one thing you would change about your flat or property what would it be:

Better access for cyclists to use electric garage gate

We have moved into our new home at Beckton Parkside in December 2020 and the overall experience so far are quite satisfactory. We love the duplex set up and layout of our property. Facility wise, we were promised that the concierge and the gym should be ready by end of 2021 so need to see if they are able to keep the promises.

Our only concern is the district energy (heating and hot water) provider and energy cost. As per the Lease it’s not allowed to change energy supplier and we think that the cost of the current district provider is disproportionately high.

Please tell us what you like and dislike about this area:

The surrounding area of the development are nice and quiet. There’s the Beckton Park in the doorstep. A13 is adjacent so we thought that there would be so much Road noise but in reality there isn’t much noise possibly because our property is a bit further down from the A13 and also I think the sound insulation system of the windows are quite good. Haven’t really experienced any anti-social behaviour so far.

Please share one thing (or more) which you wish you had known before you moved in:

The district energy provider and the heating system that they use.

What is the best feature of your home:

The best feature would be the duplex setup and layout of the property. The communal garden and the adjacent Beckton Park are also very nice.

Good development but managed poorly after buying

Poor availability of guest parking

Poor management of the communal area as anti social behaviour takes place

Bin areas is always a mess

I am impressed by the noise isolation though, can’t hear any of the neighbours through the walls as well as the a13 traffic

Quite place, good access to grocery stores

However you need a car to go to anything more than supermarkets

Exact measurements of the flat

Where radiators will be located

Where plug sockets will be placed

Balcony size is good and spacious.

Design of the bathroom and kitchen is good

Overall it’s been a great experience from the moment we meet to selling team, right up to the day we moved in, and we now continuing to enjoy our partnership with the devolpment and property management team. The design of the flat is competitive on the market, with one of the best layouts we’ve seen, in the area.

The area is newly developed and has great opportunities to be more lively in the near future. It is difficult to give feedback on the parking, as the property is still in the development stage. The garage space for residence is easily accessible and well maintained

More information about in flat installation such as heat, electricity and tv

How has the building management responded to any problems or issues you have raised:

The building management was very reactive on out feedback within 3, 7 and 14 days of us moving in

The area has become more nicer as the new apartments have been made, as someone that has lived on the road for all my life, I can definitely say that the new apartments has made the area look way more interesting. The new neighbours are very friendly.

It’s very friendly, all the neighbours are extremely nice and easy to get along with, I’ve not had any problems.

The only thing I would have thought about before moving in, is the A13 being so close.

The location is ideal and very good for busy commuters. The property is close to local transport and supermarkets. The property offers peace as well as a busy environment. Underground parking is a life saver. You feel confident that your car is stored in a safe place over night.

The location is very good, close to local transport and supermarkets. The property offers peace as well as a busy environment. Underground parking is ideal and really good for city commuters.

The bad aspects is the noise and view from the second phase of construction. It would be ideal to have a gym built in the first phase of development as I am waiting for the second phase to get built to then use the gym facilities. It would be nice to have a concierge in the building and a convenient store within the building . The local area is okay but I have seen anti social behaviour displayed by local residents out of the Bellway development.

How has the building management responded to any problems or issues you have raised:

Yes every time I had an issue they resolved my queries within 24 hours and it is always followed up with another call to check if everything is okay and running smoothly. Fantastic customer service.

Design is fantastic, love the way it is all structured. Facilities nearby are sparse but likely due to the fact it is up and coming. Nevertheless, gym (by Canning Town) and supermarkets (5 min on bike to Asda and 3 min to Aldi) not too far away. Management is decent – when I had a problem with shrinkage, someone was sent out to fix it immediately.

Parking ability on the street is very limited which can be a problem when visitors come over. Transport links are ok given I can bus to Stratford and I use a bike regularly so can’t complain. There is no traffic noise and bin collections are regular.

Please share one thing (or more) which you wish you had known before you moved in:

I wish I knew there was a wall blocking the sunlight on the balcony stopping the 8-11am direct sunlight – very minor point and past 11am its all good.

If there is one thing you would change about your flat or property what would it be:

I wish there was a closer tube stop. That’s it – nothing else to complain about.

Layout is great, storage is excellent, finishes in kitchen and bathroom really nice and a really good size with excellent sized balcony. Building management seems spot on with regular cleaning. Property management seems good – helpful welcome video call to go through key features of the property.

Great development. Swankier than I thought it would be. Good size for price and London. Further from DLR than it seemed. Quiet area, seems really safe and next to lots of green space.

More info about real distances to DLR and local amenities. It’s a bit dead for services in the immediate vicinity. You really could do with a car for shopping etc.

The development has been planned in harmony with the surrounding area. Some of the buildings do not exceed 3 storeys which gives a sense of residential area without making the whole development a massive conglomerate of flats. I had some defects in my flat but those have been repaired immediately.

Quiet residential area with a pretty local park at 1 minute from your doorsteps.

The hot water system and the consumption should have been explained in a clearer way.

The way the walls have been built which makes difficult to hang any picture frame due to the nature of the panels and the presence of metal brackets

Nice development good location

Development is well built with parking and private garden area for all blocks. Limited facilities currently but gym and concierge service to be added in later phases. Building management has been responsive to any issues so far with proactive engagement.

Please tell us what you like and dislike about this area:

Good location near to lots of green space and on several cycle routes and walking parhs. A good range of shops in local area with several supermarkets and retail parks nearby. Parking restrictions only midday on weekdays so flexible parking at weekends and evenings for visitors.

Please share one thing (or more) which you wish you had known before you moved in:

Ceiling heights make it quite difficult to purchase blinds / curtains which is not ideal when building work is ongoing nearby to not have privacy

What is the best feature of your home:

Our home is very bright due to having lots of windows providing natural light
