The rent prices have soared recently in West Midlands and North, therefore studios are £850+ a month (bills not included), depending on the floor of your apartment. The fridge is extremely small and barely fits anything (even in 2+ bed apartments) and in studios there’s no dishwasher. You are not allowed doormats even though the houses are fully carpeted (apart from the tiny strip in the kitchen area and the bathroom), which in bad weather months (90% of the time in Birmingham) makes your apartment carpet absolutely disgusting, unless you take your shoes off before coming into the apartment and put them somewhere to dry/not bring in dirt. There is a hot drinks machine near reception, but you need to pay for the drinks, unfortunately. There’s a gym, which is great but it does get busy. Also has a water dispenser in the gym, but the water smells weird, like it’s from the tap. There’s WiFi included in your rent, which is good, but you can only add devices through MAC numbers, so bear that in mind. Also, if you do a lot of washing up/showering – your hot water will finish and you’ll need to put a booster on, which doesn’t work between specific hours of the day/night. There’s very little storage in studio apartments and your water boiler is located in the wardrobe in your bedroom and makes loud noises in the middle of the night. You do have a good sized balcony, so that’s a plus. You are not allowed to have a second set of keys for your apartment if you live alone, which is a bizarre. Most of the staff are OK, although there is a certain individual who is extremely rude to residents.

Good – 5 mins walk to the station, close to the city centre, have a Sainsbury’s 5 mins away.
Bad – the underpass to get from the apartment to the station and city centre in the evenings and early mornings is very dark, has no streetlights and a lot of drunks/drug addicts and homeless people. Also, if you don’t drive – you will only be able to either order groceries online or shop in expensive local supermarkets as Tesco express, Sainsbury’s local and M&S.
Please share one thing (or more) which you wish you had known before you moved in:
That you’re not allowed doormats and second set of keys for your apartment and that if you want to change some of the furniture in your apartment or just buy some of it yourself – they will not take their furniture out as there’s no storage in this building.
How has the building management responded to any problems or issues you have raised:
Building management (most of them) have been great help and very supportive. Although I did have issues with the wifi which took a week to resolve and get someone to finally come and fix it.
Good location, but bad Management
All the Apartments are well designed and the facilities are good for all of us. However, if we need something from the Managers a simple task take so long to solve and looks like we need to beg. Personally, I have had an issue with my Bike which was stolen inside de building and they haven’t refund me. The bike as in a place they allocated and with lock. The person broke the door, cut the chain, stole my bike and they haven’t done nothing.
Sorry doesn’t pay my bike and I’m sure the Company have enough to compensate me and claim for the insurance.

Good: Lots of shops closer to the Apartment which is good for all the Tenants
Bad: Noise which is impossible to control by the Aston Team
Please share one thing (or more) which you wish you had known before you moved in:
Good: good location, closer to main train station and local buses
Bad: solve the problem for us, we need to ask for a simple change loads of time and takes more than 4 months to solve, then they send a filthy object in poor condition
How has the building management responded to any problems or issues you have raised:
Takes long to solve and when they solve it’s inappropriate. My Flatmate asked for change the sofa since April, they send yesterday the SECOND hand which was somewhere in the building, really poor condition and filthy.
This is unacceptable for the price of the rent we pay monthly, I believe we should have a better treatment by the Managers.
Overpriced
The kitchen is very small barely any space in there not enough room for a freezer which is concerning, building management is decent even though there’s still issues, I think the people that work here make this place a bit better. The design isn’t the best why would anybody want 2 stand in showers but I guess the balcony makes up for it?

Great transport links and great shops near by but the parking here is overpriced especially when you can pay less and park at the hotel next door, traffic noise is also a huge problem unless you have the door shut constantly.
Please share one thing (or more) which you wish you had known before you moved in:
Not every apartment has a bath tub, I’d be billed for things out of my control
How has the building management responded to any problems or issues you have raised:
Had some issues that were meant to fixed but still waiting for a few things to be done.
Overall it’s alright
Improving the elevator, coffee machine make it free for residents, gym should be 24/7 not closed after 12! Improving the design of the reception as it’s a bit old. Trying their best to let’s the residents contribute with each other with providing them some gifts or stuff like that to convince them to collaborating. Provide a large garden for the residents in the rooftop or ground floor. Provide running track or tennis court for residents to participate their sports same as south, east and west in Manchester which are the modern buildings.
Please tell us what you like and dislike about this area:
The google thing that there is gym, and small reception. The cons are that the elevator is soooo slow and it’s not happening in modern buildings same others in brum! Bin collection is not organised, in each floor should be a room for the bin same as other buildings as Beetham tower in brum. Coffee machine should be free as the rent is high and it should be free for residents.
Please share one thing (or more) which you wish you had known before you moved in:
Elevator should be told about before moving in, coffee machine as well.

They are really helpful I like the morning shift of the concierges they are the best I’ve ever seen!
