Great building in a great area

Review Date Feb 2022

The Argo Development is, with the Discovery Tower, one of the nicest buildings in the area. Great design, superb common areas and the guest house that you can book when you have friends and relatives over. The staff is super friendly and for coffee fans, the Starbucks and the Prêt à Manger are your neighbours

Please tell us what you like and dislike about this area:

The Hallsville Quarter in Canning Town is becoming the place to be in East London with increasing shops, coffee shops, restaurants and a cinema soon (can’t wait).

Please share one thing (or more) which you wish you had known before you moved in:

The flyover is fairly close to the building which means that there is some noise, so if you’re particularly sensible bear that in mind.

How has the building management responded to any problems or issues you have raised:

Swift resolution after attentive care and follow ups

Well connected and fresh!

Great development and design with facilities that are really nice to use. The concierge service is great and your things are secure whilst with them. Currently most additional services are unavailable during covid. The convenience of a full sized Morrison’s supermarket is hard to beat!

Please tell us what you like and dislike about this area:

The area is well connected being right next to the tube station and nearby to Canary Wharf and Stratford via those routes.

Please share one thing (or more) which you wish you had known before you moved in:

Underground car park access to other parts of the development such as Morrison’s.

How has the building management responded to any problems or issues you have raised:

They have rejected the rent increase I complained about, and used copy paste answers to discuss it at first. Other issues were fixed fast.

Amenable place to live

Review Date Jun 2022

Flat in good condition, don’t think many had been in it when we arrived. On site staff very helpful. However escalating concerns and getting them actioned almost impossible and constant rent increases difficult to discuss with massive commercial landlords. Facilities good, staff try hard with social events etc. General upkeep of shared spaces of building is good.

Please tell us what you like and dislike about this area:

Pretty good location, Canning Town is still pretty rough but you’re right next to the tube. However still a good few issues – bins availability a big problem (understand this sits with council but still affects us). Quite noisy from the road directly under development- fine background noise with windows shut but when it’s warm and you need windows open it’s pretty loud. Few incidents of anti social behaviour such as you’d get elsewhere in London.

Please share one thing (or more) which you wish you had known before you moved in:

How difficult it is to contact a commercial landlord, how they are a faceless entity

How has the building management responded to any problems or issues you have raised:

They have been pushed around from pillar to post with no resolution, we have to chase constantly

Very nice place to live with a lot of communal areas. The best is the building administration. They are very serious and helpful. They are there to help you anytime you need. We love to live there. =)

An exciting new development in Canning Town

Review Date Jan 2019

Argo Apartments is a new high-rise development located directly opposite Canning Town tube and DLR station, built by Grainger. If residents are commuting into the City or the West End, they can look forward to a short and convenient journey. Canary Wharf is under four minutes away, Bank takes just a quarter of an hour, and Bond Street is reachable in less than 20 minutes.

The Argo Apartments development offers a concierge, secure cycle storage and residents’ parking, plus meeting and conference rooms. There’s also a large dining room and guest suite, which means residents can entertain guests and clients easily. Other facilities include a video entry phone system, a gym and a roof terrace with panoramic views of London.

The developers have maximised the feeling of space in each apartment, with a use of clever storage solutions in all areas. There are large built-in cupboards in the hallway and bedrooms, for example. All flats have a modern feel with a minimalist finish, with sleek, fuss-free lines and floor-to-ceiling windows. Larger units with two bedrooms benefit from ensuite bathrooms with shower units. Family bathrooms have showers over the bath and, again, a great deal of in-built storage. All homes come with their own private balcony.

Canning Town itself is undergoing a great deal of regeneration and rejuvenation. The ExCel Centre is just a DLR stop away and London City Airport just a little further down the line. There are several supermarkets close by, as well as restaurants and cafes. Plus, the Emirates Air Line, one of London’s most unique tourist attractions, is moments away.
