News Flats in Colindale

Where is Colindale?

Colindale is situated between Edgware, Harrow and Brent Cross. It’s a busy place with lots of traffic and people, but its main drag is Edgware Road. This is a colourful cornucopia of shops and restaurants, many of which have stood the test of time for decades. Largely independent, they’re fun to explore. But if it’s brand names that suit, the much-loved Brent Cross Shopping Centre is less than a 10-minute drive away. This is the first standalone mall in the UK. Away from all the bustle and not too far from the town centre, you’ll find ample green spaces. These include Fryent Country Park as well as the ancient hectares of Hampstead Heath.

Colindale transport

Speaking of connections, Colindale has plenty to brag about. Road links are tricky to beat, with the M1, A41 and North Circular all nearby. Colindale tube station is in Zone 4, and its Northern line trains run to business HQ hotspot King’s Cross St. Pancras in just over 20 minutes. Likewise, you can reach the glittering West End in half an hour. Similarly, there’s also a frequent and reliable bus network in these parts.

For easy station access living in Colindale, there’s Rhythm – an ultra-modern development from Fairview New Homes, right across the road from the Underground. Moreover, Galliard Homes’ Silver Works is just a little further along. Used during World War I by the Royal Air Force, today it’s a collection of apartments, suites and townhouses.

“I really like my apartment – it’s open-plan, modern and spacious. Everything works really well and the building management are quick at fixing things.” – Anonymous, verified resident of Silver Works.

NW9’s multi-cultural flavour

This is a richly diverse postcode, and that’s what gives the place its edge. On one corner you’ll find a boutique selling intricate sari silks, on another a Polish supermarket. Colindale restaurants, meanwhile, dish up fare from all around the world. One of the area’s most celebrated gastronomic attractions is Bang Bang Oriental, a blend of Asian street food, sumptuous massage parlours and a huge Chinese restaurant.

Best places to buy or rent in Colindale

The big developers have cottoned on to the area’s offerings with the likes of Berkeley Homes moving in with contemporary residential developments such as Beaufort Park. It is a purpose-built neighbourhood in its own right. Residents here have access to immaculately landscaped grounds and a luxury spa.

“It has everything you need within walking distance. A tesco, Sainsbury’s, a Chinese, Italian, pub, dry cleaners, swimming pool, gym, spa and underground all within a 10 minute walk. The estate management is open 24 hours and are very helpful when needed. It’s a nice safe area and not too busy. Everyone is friendly and feels very safe to go jogging at night. It’s a little bit pricier then apartments in surrounding areas but overall I would recommend.” – Lucy, verified resident of Beaufort Park.

In addition, snaking off of Colindale’s main roads are quiet, leafy residential streets neatly lined with houses from the 1930s. These have attracted a large number of families to the area, along with a good standard of education in primary, senior and faith schools.

One of best places to buy or rent in Colindale is Colindale Gardens, a new-build development from Redrow Homes. Offering a host of layouts, including studios, one to four-bedroom apartments, and three and four-bedroom townhouses, it’s a good option for families looking to move to Colindale. Help to Buy is available here, too.

Pricy and fancy new build

there’s a lot of Asian food nearby with the Bang Bang food hall. We have big supermarkets like Morrison, Loon Fung, M&S. Uncle is located just 2-3minutes walk to the tube station but seeing it will be closing for construction which would be inconvenient.

Please review your development:

It is very fancy as a new building. The communal area is very nice that included movie room, party room, private study/ working space. We also have a podium with BBQ area. The gym is relatively small but well equipped. We have reception and maintenance during office hour which is fair. The parcel room is convenient.

Please share one thing (or more) which you wish you had known before you moved in:

I wish I could know there will be a tube station closure

What is the best feature of your home:

A spacious living room and nice view from balcony.

There are bus stops and railways nearby which is very convenient. The place nearby is clean and tidy, and there is a small convenience store downstairs at the reception area. The staff are polite and will help you solve your problems. Regarding the garbage room, it is very clean, bright and convenient.

Please review your development:

Uncle’s community design is novel, the unit area is large, all materials are of high quality, and the sound insulation equipment is very good. There are great shared spaces here. To their credit, a fully functional party room and cinema room are available free of charge, and the team have designed a number of festive activities to increase opportunities to get to know the neighbours. The property management team is very good. All staff are friendly and willing to help solve problems. I highly recommend them to others.

Please share one thing (or more) which you wish you had known before you moved in:

The first day’s stay was great, the only trouble was that we had to pay for hot water. Fortunately, I had enough time to pay the hot water bill when I checked in in the morning, otherwise there would be no hot water. If possible, please inform new guests

What is the best feature of your home:

I feel very comfortable at home and the kitchen is well equipped

Not as they present it on media

Review Date May 2023

The blocks start to crack everywhere, the lower areas started to get green. There street lights and CCTV that are not working,

Please review your development:

It’s nothing new, traditional brickwork that started to get green now, i’m sure they didn’t build correctly. Management I believe they can’t cope with the numbers of complaints, the landscape starts to turn into a jungle, no maintenance no irrigation

Please share one thing (or more) which you wish you had known before you moved in:

I watched the building site on a morning around 10:00 and I saw a guy suited grabbed another guy from his arm and escorted him to his car I believe, a white car, not sure that’s the way people should be treated, I don’t know the reason but that was an attack to a person I witnessed

How has the building management responded to any problems or issues you have raised:

They can’t cope, they keep saying we will deal with it

A year old issue

Review Date May 2023

There are no street lights that actually work
There are no CCTV that actually work
The landscape start to turn into a jungle nobody is maintaining

Please review your development:

I bought a flat more than a year ago. The colour of the water from the system is brown. I raised this with them constantly and still nothing was resolved. Disgusting. I got to go to my neighbours to ask for clean water to wash myself. Really a nightmare

Please share one thing (or more) which you wish you had known before you moved in:

If I can go back on time I would never buy a flat from Redrow.

How has the building management responded to any problems or issues you have raised:

We sorry, we working on it . We are waiting for specialist response
