Clean, safe and quiet

I bought the property in 2014 and have had very little issues over 5 years. The house has 4 levels and typical of new builds the rooms are "snug" but pretty decent overall. The house is perhaps overly insulated which is not great in the summer but very nice in winter. The plus points are: - Clean -Safe -Quiet - Safe parking -good selection of schools nearby -good local network (buses, trains etc) -Nice parks for kids within walking distance - Virgin media cabled network Negatives - Guest parking space (unless you have a private gated parking block) - Insulation makes summer tough going

Please tell us about the good and bad aspects of living in your local area:

Great local amenties including gyms, supermarkets, schools, parks, shops in chatterton village Nothing negative to note locally

Please share one thing (or more) which you wish you had known before you moved in:

I would not really change much if anything

Amazing!

I am very happy with the development and area in general due to the convenience of local transport links as well as the abundance of shops, pubs and restaurants that create a very pleasant living atmosphere. The only downside of this development is the fact that it is quite a snobbish area and the local authority property nearby isn’t as pleasant. All complaints I’ve raised with building management have been dealt with swiftly and appropriately.

I wish I had known that the security gates didn’t work properly.

Nice area but problems with management

There’s no community and everyone keeps to themselves. There have been a few incidents and police don’t care because the development is private. Management company aren’t great. The gate at the front has been broken for a while and we must pay a service charge for it and they haven’t fixed it. As well as this, one asked for the gate. We picked this house because it is spacious and we wanted to live in Bromley. There are also good transport links to Bromley South Station.

Please tell us about the good and bad aspects of living in your local area:

The area is convenient. We have everything we need in terms of shops. It doesn’t feel like a city and there are good travel links. We don’t like that it’s quite pricey for being outside of London.

Please share one thing (or more) which you wish you had known before you moved in:

The service charge increases every time they add something. You can’t put the washing out even in the back of the house.

Houses are fine but crammed

House is fine, grounds are okay but there are very limited facilities, no shops close by. Close to town. Security can be problematic in the area. Kids from the college come over and smoke and loiter. It would be nice if we had wider roads and parking.

Please tell us about the good and bad aspects of living in your local area:

Good schools, convenient, bus service is good

Please share one thing (or more) which you wish you had known before you moved in:

Doctors surgeryou limited parking , no facolitis for kids

Lovely place but not very spacious

The property is quite a small - I would have liked it to be more spacious! But it is very convenient as it has everything we would need and has been nicely designed. The quality of the development is also really good. If I could change anything I wouldn’t have an en-suite bathroom and replace it with a cupboard so we would have more space.

Please tell us about the good and bad aspects of living in your local area:

The area is really family friendly and good transport links nearby. Very safe area even though there have been a few thefts here and there.

Please share one thing (or more) which you wish you had known before you moved in:

That the walls are really thin so you can’t really stick much on them.

Please share one thing (or more) which you would change about your development:

I wouldn’t have an en-suite bathroom and replace it with a cupboard so we would have more space.
