The Marches, GU21

One of the nicest flats I’ve ever lived in. Super convenient location to shops, transport and supermarkets. Beautiful and big modern flats with loads of facilities, with little things like a bin chute, parcel safe store room, 24 hour concierge and on site maintenance makes things so easy. They also have the friendliest staff ever, I love chatting with Jasmin, Rosa, Anne and Beth when I’m wandering about the building.

Quick to respond to queries, patient, understanding and will go above and beyond to make sure your needs are met. Beautiful gardens and lots of fun or relaxing events that you can get involved in. Rooms and apartments are spacious with quality furniture provided.

When moving into The Marches, it feels special. The process is a series of straightforward steps, and the building is made to feel luxurious. The main reason that I was drawn to The Marches was the style and the community atmosphere. After around five years of being open, the buildings are still in good shape. I would like to mention the work that I have seen from Ryan on the maintenance team, who is superb and the epitome of what a residential building needs. He is always friendly and has made me feel genuinely welcomed and looked after. I have seen him go out of his way to improve the communal spaces and actively explore ways to make The Marches a better place to live. This is exactly the attitude that is needed to keep an apartment building alive and enjoyable. I have seen many buildings fall off after opening, and with other local towers due to be completed in the coming years, this approach is exactly what is needed to stay competitive and relevant. The introduction of the post room has been very useful; it was a great move that has made a lot of sense. The gardens are lovely, as are the top-level spaces. It's amazing to look out at the views, and I always take visitors up to revel in the Surrey and London scenery. There is always a nice team on reception too, which also helps make the building feel like home. Beth on reception has been amazing. Since helping me move in, she has been a ray of sunshine— it felt like I had a million questions on arrival, and they have always been answered helpfully. There have been other members of reception too, which I have been sad to see go, as they really are at the heart of the building. There used to be more community events, and they have dropped off somewhat. When these buildings are run, they are always enjoyable and a great way to interact with other residents, making the community feel more homely. In my opinion, a building can be fantastic, but it truly shines when it’s surrounded by a strong community spirit and friendly neighbours. Here are some thoughts that I would love to see more follow through on... ideas that management have generated or considered, for instance: 1. The introduction of multiple car parking spaces with the council— while this may be difficult to achieve, the car park often has over 1,000 spaces available on any given day. It therefore stands as a solid argument for the council that income generated from continuous occupation would be beneficial. More residents’ car permits would generate more income than allowing only one residents’ rate vehicle. In this day and age, there are many circumstances that call for multiple vehicles per household. 2. The introduction of QR codes to allow temporary access to the building. 3. Use of stairwells— the building has elevator-only access, which can feel restrictive. Recent stoppages on one or more elevators have left residents with (no exaggeration) 15-minute waits to leave the building. While the argument for safety in the stairwells stands true, perhaps there are systems that could be put in place to help it remain safe (CCTV). At minimum, it would be nice to have access to the post room and ground floor from level 2. 4. Temperature of communal spaces— the beautiful top-floor spaces are great to work in, but I have known many residents to avoid them due to the temperature. Perhaps more monitoring of temperatures is required, or even the introduction of reflective window film to help keep out hot summer temperatures.

The design and facilities of the development are good. The support team and reception staff are very professional and helpful. Our move-in process went smoothly with their kind help. We especially appreciate the generous guidance and assistance from Mr. Ryan Ellery. He effectively communicated with the moving crew, provided us with the necessary explanation, support and assistance, and importantly, ensured that everything was handled safely and securely.

I love how safe the Marches is. The team on hand 24/7 makes me feel at ease. the weekly yoga class is a highlight for me too! I would love more classes like this. The design is trendy and modern and the team are friendly and helpful. I really like living here
