Love the apartment and the team - just didn’t expect so many students!

Our development is lovely, all the communal facilities are excellent. The concierge team (maria and brunilda) are amazing and so helpful - they are absolutely an asset to touchstone/places. The security/weekend and overnight team are also all such nice people and super friendly. There’s a lot of students which is the main downside: they’re loud, rude and disrespectful when it comes to rubbish in communal areas/bins and noise, but the team here have been good at keeping them in check mainly, and fortunately it seems they are still a minority compared to nicer, respectful manority of residents. We love our apartment, it’s big, homely and suits us perfectly. the only things we wish had been added as standard was privacy glass on our windows, we’re opposite a big college building and when the sun is shining they can see in to every room, so zero privacy! Similarly the windows open inwards which is likely a safety feature for our terrace, but it’s frustrating to have a massive window open taking up a large portion of the room. We also note, it’s dog friendly but there isn’t really much of an area for them to communally enjoy/explore within. The one area of grass is very overgrown.

Please tell us about the good and bad aspects of living in your local area:

Love the area in it’s locality to the train station. There’s a lot of students who are largely not used to living like adults so every now and then there’s mess in the communal areas/bins, and loud music but the team working here have so far been good at keeping them in check. Parking is so frustrating as there’s no onsite parking unless disabled. We pay over £150 a month to park in a multistory 5 minutes walk away.

How has the building management responded to any problems or issues you have raised:

Yes responded, but the promise of onsite maintenance always being on hand is not true/as promised when signing our agreement.

Please share one thing (or more) which you wish you had known before you moved in:

That while dog-friendly, it’s not really set up to cater for dogs, the communal area needs to improve its green/garden offering.

Quality Living: Top Facilities and Responsive Building Management

Nikulo (Tenant)

The building’s design is impressive, making excellent use of space. The facilities are top-notch, including a well-equipped gym, a common work area, free Wi-Fi, and a fantastic terrace with barbecue amenities. Building management is highly responsive and available during office hours, with 24/7 security ensuring safety. However, interactions with property management are mostly limited to email, and their response times could be quicker. Overall, the building offers great amenities and a well-managed environment.

Please tell us about the good and bad aspects of living in your local area:

The local amenities are very convenient. Shops are located within 200 meters, making daily errands easily manageable. There are several restaurants within a 0.4-mile radius, and bars are also conveniently located within 200 meters. For transport, bus stops are just 200 meters away, providing excellent public transport options. The train station is a short 7-minute walk, offering easy access to longer journeys. The street is peaceful with minimal traffic noise, contributing to a calm living environment. Private Parking is generally available, and bin collections are timely and efficient. There is ongoing construction work at the nearby college, which might cause some disruption, but overall, the area remains pleasant and well-connected.

How has the building management responded to any problems or issues you have raised:

The property is new, and I haven’t encountered any issues yet.

Please share one thing (or more) which you wish you had known before you moved in:

I wish I had known that while the property is a bit pricey, its prime location near shops, restaurants, bars, bus stands, the rail station, library, and schools makes it highly convenient.

The building is nice and quiet clean and new, modern of course the apartments have great windows with a lot of sunlight and very nice layouts the building management are quite helpful and nice and actually communicates with you I don’t fell like I’m talking to a robot but actually talking to a person who understands.

Please tell us about the good and bad aspects of living in your local area:

The area is perfect honestly it was the first thing I loved about the place it’s near to everything, supermarkets , station, bus stops city centre, I literally can walk to anywhere

How has the building management responded to any problems or issues you have raised:

I didn’t have any problems thankfully but whenever I reach out for any questions they were helpful and fast

Please share one thing (or more) which you wish you had known before you moved in:

I think the only thing I can comment on is there is no bell ring from the inside for block A and as a person who live there I have to go all the way down to open the door for my gust and it’s a bit inconvenient

Great place to live

Great new gym with all the essentials, squat rack etc. New modern build, warm in Winter and energy efficient. Friendly concierge staff and convenience of not having to collect parcels is a huge plus. Safe place for bike storage and bins easy to access and relatively clean.

Please tell us about the good and bad aspects of living in your local area:

Not very noisy but close enough to the lanes and Steine. Very good for commuters as only a five min walk up the the hill to Brighton Station.

How has the building management responded to any problems or issues you have raised:

The Blockhouse has an online portal for raising issues which are dealt with within a reasonable time

Please share one thing (or more) which you wish you had known before you moved in:

How the utilities worked, water heater etc, and for a more in depth demonstration of how things work
