Please tell us about the good and bad aspects of living in your local area:
DO NOT BUY A HOME WITH L&Q. I am on a shared ownership (25%) and recently had a problem on my new build apartment (3 years old) The issue is the ventilation no longer works. The manual states you can access the unit via one of the hallway cupboards - you can’t. I rang L&Q and they said they would repair it but wait time was a month - was happy to wait as I had no idea where to access the unit. Electrician comes round (Leslie) - has trouble finding the unit also but eventually looks up in a hatch we have. I have never been in this hatch as was told i cannot use it and its for roof emergencies only. Leslie then says he will not be repairing the unit as its inside my property. Anyway I phoned L&Q again and they spoke with the surveyor who confirmed it was down to L&Q to repair the issue - but again had to wait another month. New repair date comes around and I see Leslie pull up in the car park. He is on the phone and then after 15 mins proceeds to drive away! Again was told its not down to them to repair. So not only has the unit remained unfixed but also further damage has been caused to the flat during the two months of waiting. Would highly recommend staying away from these jokers. Regarding their reply below - we have had an engineer round who also could not access the unit. Its a large box buried in insulation - really not a good job. Have emailed L&Q and will update if a repair is completed.
How has the building management responded to any problems or issues you have raised:
They do not accept responsibility and give you the run around. Stress levels peaked.

Not to buy a home with L&Q. Avoid them.
