Concierge are SO helpful and polite, not once have I felt like they’ve given anything less than 110% to help me. They even fetched me a router whilst I was trying to sign up to broadband at about 9PM! The building itself is kept clean to a very high standard throughout. The apartments themselves are very spacious and well designed (network points with the plug sockets is a GREAT touch to help with wifi connectivity issues that might occur).

Please tell us what you like and dislike about this area:

Amazing location. A few minutes walk to Canary Wharf tube (Jubliee line) and less than a minute walk to the DLR. Restaurants, supermarkets and Cinema all within a few minutes walk too. The local area is very well kept and I’ve loved every minute so far.

Please share one thing (or more) which you wish you had known before you moved in:

I wish I had been more aware about stack effect and the level of noise it can make in windy situations.

How has the building management responded to any problems or issues you have raised:

Yes, I raised an issue about some squeaking floor boards but they informed me it’s not a fault which is fine.

Glass and steel right next to the waterfront.

Review Date Aug 2021

My building has an excellent design and architecture if you like the glass and steel type, which is what sold it to me. Along with the luxurious reception. I love hotels and this is the closest I’ve seen to living in a hotel. It’s pet friendly, which is also a plus for me.
The staff at the reception and security are extremely helpful and polite. They even helped me get the sofa into the flat when the delivery driver wouldn’t, and they didn’t really have to. I’ll be forever grateful for that.
On the downside, I’m shared ownership, and as such I don’t get access to the swimming pool and gym in the first floor. I knew this before purchasing, so it’s all fair. But it’s still frustrating, especially sharing the lift with someone in flip flops and swimming trucks heading to a place in the building you know is not available to you. Makes you feel second class. Same for the rooftop restaurant in the 56 floor. I bet it’s great. I live in the building and I might never see it.

Please tell us what you like and dislike about this area:

There’s everything within 5 min walk, from shops to restaurants, pub, bars and cafes. It gets a bit busy and noisy but my building has an excellent soundproofing. Which is very important being so close to the DLR station, and the curve, which is surprisingly even louder. With the windows open it can get loud, but not too much…. For me at least.
At night it’s a bit worse. Trains stop but there is a constant buzz in the area, like a humming engine. I think it’s all the high raise buildings.
From South Quay Plaza the only way to get to Canary Wharf is a footbridge. It’s a very nice walk but sometimes it feels a bit out of the way. But in exchange I get to live next to the water, which is amazing.

Please share one thing (or more) which you wish you had known before you moved in:

I did know I wouldn’t have access to the facilities like gym, swimming pool and rooftop terrace, that private market buyers have, but I guess I would have liked to know how important that discrimination would become once I moved in.
And the noise. I find it within acceptable limits but it’s way above what I had thought. Again: the soundproofing is excellent but I can’t watch TV with the windows open, for example: I miss all the dialogues when the DLR enters the curve.

How has the building management responded to any problems or issues you have raised:

Haven’t had much need to reach out for help yet, but still, everyone here has always been extremely helpful and nice.

Magnificent and trendy skyscraper tower !

Review Date Aug 2021

It is amazing and modern residential building built with meticulous attention to details . In your apartment, you will have multiple floor to ceiling windows overlooking the dock giving fantastic panoramic view but it is shame you can’t enjoy the view ! It is disappointing to find out when you move in that the building doesn’t undergo professional cleaning of the external windows on regular biases (and for some apartments rooms ,mainly the shared ownership, they don’t get external window cleaning at all ) leaving your floor to ceiling windows with thick layer of dust and dirt which blocks the view outside and leave your apartment looks odd . It is also disappointing that you don’t always get a quick response from the management if you have issues at your apartment and you report them . For the facilities, as a shared ownership purchaser , you don’t get access to the building facilities such as the lounge on the 56th floor and the swimming pool .

Please tell us what you like and dislike about this area:

Vibrant and modern spot in East London, superb location with close proximity to public transport, shops and restaurants.

Please share one thing (or more) which you wish you had known before you moved in:

I wish I was given more information about certain services like the cleaning of the apartment windows .

How has the building management responded to any problems or issues you have raised:

We didn’t get response from the management when we had requests and inquiries about the professional cleaning of the external surface of the apartment floor to ceiling windows which were in miserable condition when we moved in. We got slow response when reported issues we found at the flat when we moved in ( not working sensor at the utility room, dripping toilet, difficult to handle door socket , difficult to close a bedroom windows due to defect in the handle ) some were fixed , some still needs fixing.

Very nice property, but be careful about the wind noise.

Verified Resident

A very nice property in Canary Wharf. Modern and beautiful design, the apartment is for the most part, very well thought out. Very good facilities, a well-equipped gym, pool, a 56th floor terrace, etc.

What we did not expect were the loud creaking noises (60+ dB) that come from the fabric of the building whenever there’s strong wind outside, which I’d say happens about once a month, more often in the winter. It’s pretty bad when it happens at night and you’re unable to sleep. Make sure you are careful whether the apartment is susceptible to this.

The concierge and building management has been very responsive and helpful with any issues (minor) that we’ve had.

Please tell us what you like and dislike about this area:

Very good location, 1-2 minutes away from the DLR, 10 minutes from the Jubilee line. Well connected to the city. Many supermarkets and restaurants within walking distance, many of them very good.

Please share one thing (or more) which you wish you had known before you moved in:

The ridiculous wind creaking noise; it’s very likely not all apartments suffer from this, but watch out.

How has the building management responded to any problems or issues you have raised:

The building management has been very responsive and helpful, with one small exception when we had to be a bit more pushy to get the windows cleaned.

A modern development that is a joy to live in

Verified Resident

Review Date Jul 2021

I was initially not expecting to love the development as much as I do. To begin with the flats in the development are superb not only because they are new but they are quite cleverly designed with the aim of being efficient, easy to clean and maintain and just enjoyable to stay inside. The gym facilities are excellent for a development and there is even a swimming pool with a jacuzzi and other similar facilities which is something I would have expected only in very rich and affluent distant developments. The fact that there is lounge and bar in the 56th floor is just icing on the cake!

Please tell us what you like and dislike about this area:

The location is perfect for someone that wants to experience a more lively city experience with pretty much everything in walking distance without experiencing the crowdedness of the city center.

Please share one thing (or more) which you wish you had known before you moved in:

I would have loved to know all the facilities that would be in the building before moving as that would have made my decision even easier.

How has the building management responded to any problems or issues you have raised:

I have had very few issues but they have responded almost immediately and they are always very kind.

5-star luxury residence goes with a 5-star price tag

Verified Resident
Verified Resident
Review Date Jul 2021

Great development with world-class facilities and design. 5-star management team with professional staff always available for you. Would be great to have more events, like the Wimbledon weekend, organised in the Quay Club and port area. The only con is the price of the properties, in particular the Canary Wharf / O2-facing properties. They are more expensive then the other ones you can find in the area.

Please tell us what you like and dislike about this area:

Easy access to shops, restaurants and city center. Very safe to live in the area. I’d suggest have more security measure to avoid tailgating and any unauthorised access to the building.

Please share one thing (or more) which you wish you had known before you moved in:

Top advice – It’s gonna be very windy and you need to install curtains instead of blinds!

How has the building management responded to any problems or issues you have raised:

Very responsive and great support was given by the agent and landlord.

Great development overall with lots of facilities

Verified Resident
Verified Resident
Review Date Jul 2021

Great minimalist interiors, well designed flat with details considered e.g. usb ports in the kitchen, toilets with plenty of storage. Build is high quality, much better than a lot of the other new builds I’ve seen so far.
Facilities are great – there’s a pool, gym, spa and 56th floor self service bar etc. for resident use – the service charge isn’t cheap but given the quality and abundance of facilities, it is worth the money.
Concierge is responsive and friendly – I send them an email and they reply very quickly.

One down side so far is the creaking noise which happens when it gets windy and can get quite bad during winter (Oct – Mar), but according to Berkeley this is normal in a lot of the tall buildings due to the stack effect (even though I’ve lived in one abroad and never had such a problem..?).

Please tell us what you like and dislike about this area:

Just across the road from South Quay DLR station and less than 10 min walk from Canary Wharf tube station, which makes it very convenient to get into central London. I don’t really need to leave the area to run my weekly errands e.g. Waitrose/John Lewis 10 mins walk away, small Tescos just 10 second walk from our building, various stores for UPS return in the shopping mall, lots of restaurants nearby

Please share one thing (or more) which you wish you had known before you moved in:

The creaking noise, which I wasn’t aware of until I moved in. When I viewed the flat it was not windy and was not made aware of how bad it could get. During winter, the creaking noise was so loud that I ended up having to buy ear plugs which play white noise just to mask it and be able to fall asleep. But maybe my flat is just noisier than the others because it faces a certain direction

How has the building management responded to any problems or issues you have raised:

Berkeley have been very responsive and quick to fix to all the minor snags in my flat

Great facilities and access to C Wharf

Review Date Jul 2021

The facilities are what set South Quay Plaza apart from other developments around Canary Wharf. The gym, pool and spa facilities are easily accessible on the first floor, with friendly and accessible staff, as well as access to beauty treatments in house. The gym is well stocked, with a range of cardio, machine and free weight options, as well as plenty of free classes. The steam room is a personal favourite, although the sauna and vitality pool could be hotter.

The terrace and 56th floor bar is a highlight, with great views over to Greenwich from the terrace, as well as back over Central London from the bar- the Shard and London Eye can just be spotted. The wine selection is excellent, although some beer varieties as well as spirits would be a nice addition, the beer is lovely and locally produced. The free hot drinks are lovely and the coffee and hot chocolate are particularly recommended. The access to private dining, meeting room and private cinema is amazing, but some snack/food options in the bar would be well received.

The apartments are well designed with a lot of space and natural light. The furniture is high quality and comfortable, and the wine cooler is an excellent addition.

Please tell us what you like and dislike about this area:

SQP is a 10 second walk away from a tesco express, 30 seconds from South Quay DLR station, 10 minutes (or 1 DLR stop) away from Asda and an 8 minute walk into the heart of Canary Wharf. There are plenty of bars and restaurants around Canary Wharf, and some I’ve yet to sample along the waterfront nearby. Access to C Wharf comes with access to the Jubilee line to take you into central London, although there is easy access to Bank on the DLR from right outside.

Please share one thing (or more) which you wish you had known before you moved in:

Tower Hamlets Council isn’t the easiest to communicate with. The booking of inductions to access the facilities should be your first priority when you move in, and make sure to download the South Quay Plaza app ASAP.

How has the building management responded to any problems or issues you have raised:

The management are friendly and really keen to provide the best service- we had some problems with being notified about parcel arrivals, but they sorted it overnight and haven’t had a problem since.

I really love the interior design of the Hampton Tower! Modern and elegant!

Verified Resident

Review Date Jul 2021

I really love the interior design of the Hampton Tower! Modern and elegant! Beautiful colour coordination. The paintings on the wall of our corridors stirs imagination and brings joy every time I glance at them.

Facilities inside the apartment are top notch! So are those in the Quay Club and the 56th floor. I especially love the function rooms on the 56th floor; so SMART!

Our concierge team has the best young people in town! They are always friendly, tentative, and helpful. Not the least to say that they are mostly good-looking and can be such an eye-candy with their uniforms.

Please tell us what you like and dislike about this area:

It’s a pretty young and flamboyant neighbourhood here at South Quay Plaza as well as the surrounding areas.

Shopping is easy. We have a Tesco’s only paces from our main entrance. The ASDA on Dogs Island is better than most ASDAs I’ve been; I can find almost everything I need there. Otherwise, M&S is five minutes away and WAITROSE is 10 minutes away across the dock.

There’s a light rail station, “South Quay” immediately across the road, which is noisy if the windows are open; and no bother when the windows are closed.

Canary Wharf tube station is only 7 minutes away by foot.

Lots of nice restaurants around.

Luxury shopping under the Jubilee Park.

Our bin chutes have had a few hiccups but it’s usually back to normal in no time.

Anti-social behaviours? The football fans didn’t even come near here.

Please share one thing (or more) which you wish you had known before you moved in:

I only had good surprises. My agent did tell me that I would be able to use all the facilities as a resident, she didn’t tell me how good they were. Again, the best part is the staff, may it be the concierge, the quay club, or the maintenance guys. I also think that we’ve got the best Personal Trainers in town.

How has the building management responded to any problems or issues you have raised:

Responsive, efficient, helpful, and friendly.

The maintenance team is most helpful! As the first resident in my rented apartment, I had a few things to sort out before settling down, and the maintenance manager lady and her engineers were really helpful. Pleasant too.

Great luxurious living space and top location – Parking would be a bonus however

Review Date Aug 2021

Excellent location, great facilites, and very smart clean and tidy. Very premium living space which is noticeable.

Only downside is parking, and every now and then the building shakes/creaks in windy conditions (can actually sometimes keep you up at night).

Please tell us what you like and dislike about this area:

Plenty of local shops and amenities nearby on your doorstep. DLR on your doorstep and Jubilee line 10 min walk away.

Alot of construction going up at the moment therefore area is often bombarded with workmen, lorries and trucks.

No parking (so far) which is very disappointing, and therefore often difficult to park the car our front when moving things in/out.

Please share one thing (or more) which you wish you had known before you moved in:

Parking would be a little easier & building creaks

How has the building management responded to any problems or issues you have raised:

Yes, they have dealt with every query that we have brought to them thus far.
