We believe the best information about a residential development comes from the people living there. Owners and tenants have a lot of useful information to share with their prospective neighbours, not just on the property itself and its locality, but also on the developer and the building’s management.

Great Oldbury is situated on the edge of the Cotswolds, just minutes from the M5. Great Oldbury is the first phase of the Stonehouse expansion. Additionally, Great Oldbury has good commuter connections by road and rail to Gloucester, Bristol and Swindon. It is also just five miles from Stroud.

I love house the houses aren’t overcrowded down my street. We have looked at buying a 3 bed Ludlow but don’t feel the rooms are as spacious as my current 2 bed. We could really do with some more shops. When I purchased my redrow house there was very little work to do to the house and the grass was laid and cared for well before I arrived.

Redrow’s after care is terrible. Issues don’t get resolved quickly. Myself and my partner are still trying to get problems resolved after 2 years. The green area in Duxbury close is full of weeds, has dead trees and care home boundary is open so you can see the back end of their builder, it’s always untidy. There is a temporary metal fence up which is disgusting. The biggest let down to phase 1, it’s very embarrassing.

The main thing that is a massive design flaw is the lack of "storage" spaces and having the smoke detector and heat sensor right above the oven. So every time you open the oven, it sets it off. Driveway is big which is great for multiple car households. Love the natural light that comes through from the big windows. Rooms are white spacious and well thought out

The Redrow Heritage collection style of houses are great value for money and the layout of the first phase of the development is very, the second appears to be more densely populated with houses in my view and less attention to layout. I would happily recommend the houses, they are well built and worth the extra money compared to competitors in the development. However, Redrow's customer service after you have handed over your money and moved in is appalling. They have built drainage in my garden that is not shown on the plans or in accordance with their own specification. Redrow has refused to amend it and NHBC views are their standards are only guidelines and they cannot make Redow rectify it. Redrow's customer service manager seems to be always on leave and does everything possible to avoid customers, refusing to meet customers and diagnosing defects from photos you send to her. including issues such as loose handles and hinges from photos. I have a list of defects that were sent to Redrow during lockdown which understandably could not be addressed. As my warranty has come to an end and we are out of lockdown Redrow are refusing to repair them despite promises. The estate is a great place to live, phase one is well laid out with a good mix of houses creating a good street scene, and giving security through good design, there is also a good mix and integration of private, social and affordable housing, which has resulted in everyone having great neighbours. Things that could be better are children's play equipment and play areas, provision of allotments and construction of local facilities now the development has started to mature. I had a wonderful experience purchasing my property due to the sales team of Sally and Sarah Jane going above and beyond. But this was completely undone by their aftercare and customer service. In summary, I would buy the house again providing Redrow's customer service team were not involved.
