It has got a good sized communal area downside. There is no security insider and not a proper gate to stop at. The children mess it up . It must be of a limited access . No cleaning . The playgrounds are good, nice, quiet, lights come up at night. Nice community as well . Notorious people . They haven’t change the carpets from the beginning. Security is fine .

Please tell us what you like and dislike about this area:

Area is central all the shopping is close, easy to reach the West Croydon station

Please share one thing (or more) which you wish you had known before you moved in:

Car park is of limited access and it is paid

Nice community, some dirty areas.

The community and people are nice. But the kids broke some of the lamps outside. The flats could be redecorated. There is food on the floor. It is quiet on my floor which is nice. The service charges are expensive.

Please tell us what you like and dislike about this area:

I don’t like the people that litter the bundling. They don’t clean that often.
The inside of the house and the people are nice.

Please share one thing (or more) which you wish you had known before you moved in:

There is nowhere to park and the resident parking is only for certain people.

Fair price and nice place to live

Security of the building is great with the cctv. I feel very safe living here. The hot water is sometimes broken. This was my first complaint when I moved in; there was no hot water. Only the shower, other faucets are good. The community is good and people are good. I like the common space for having a smoke.

Please tell us what you like and dislike about this area:

The lifts are broken so there are too many people around. I like the security sitting around so help.

Please share one thing (or more) which you wish you had known before you moved in:

Landlords mother is a pain but he has spoken to her. I understand that she may have concerns but she is bad at communicating with me.

Convenient London links and a prime spot in emerging Croydon

The aptly-named City House has a central location on Croydon’s London Road, flanked by shops and restaurants, and close to excellent transport links. West Croydon Station is a little over a 10-minute walk from the property, and offers fast and frequent trains to major hubs like Clapham Junction and Highbury & Islington.

City House is an ultra-contemporary development that dominates the roadside. It sits in stark contrast to its neighbour, the Mahajanwadi building. Constructed as a church in the 1800s, this Grade II listed building is now used as a Jain temple.

Homes at City House are split into studios and apartments, with a landscaped courtyard at their centre. Light, bright and airy, each is characterised by fresh, off-white walls, and windows that stretch from floor to ceiling. Bathrooms are neatly tiled and kitchens fully fitted with all the appliances you need to cook up a storm. All residents benefit from a concierge service, handy for the likes of parcel deliveries and restaurant bookings. There’s secure underground parking here, too – rare for the busy Croydon area.

Speaking of which, now’s an exciting time to move to this fast-moving South London borough. Croydon is in the midst of a multi-billion-pound makeover, which has welcomed a new wave of modern apartments, restaurants and bars to the area. One such addition is Boxpark Croydon, a myriad of tempting street food pop-ups set in old shipping containers. There’s a shiny new Westfield shopping mall in the works, as well. It’s not all about the regeneration, though – there are cobbled lanes full of olde-world pubs to be discovered in the old town.

It takes a long time to get the things fixed. The lift is not working for 3 weeks now and we don’t know when it will get fixed. Not very big flat. I feel safe living here. There is 24/7 security . No good playground for toddlers .

Good area. The shops are close. The train station too.

Everything is okay. It is well organized. The lift someimes breaks down. There is always a problem with the lift. It is clean and I am happy with the facilities. It is child friendly and the neighbours are all very nice. No crimes like robbery have happened. Kids from different places come and play at our playground which I like a lot!

New building and the facilities are of good quality. The security is good because they always do the walk around and you can call them 24h if you have any issues. It is safe overall. Maintenance is good and there are no delays in fixing things.

Hollow walls- deal breakers

Verified Resident

I like that it’s clean there’s a cleaner responsible for the communal areas which keeps it clean. I like the consierge downstairs gives that extra added security and atleast I don’t worry about missing my parcels as the consierge can sign them for me! But that comes with a cost though it’s annual maintenance fees are too dear as a result of that! Every fixture on the property is on the cheap- basic end say for example the taps, toilet, kitchen cabinets, windows, bathroom, carpet, everything-even the walls feel hollow when you tap them, can’t hang up Anthing heavy on the wall as it may not hold and come crushing down. No sound proof I can hear my neighbors putting a plug in the socket and switching it on and off. May be they are heavy handed but I mean come on! On a Sunday afternoon having a nap- I’m rudely woken up my banging from the neighbors I think they are installing a new floor or something guessing from the pattern and sound of the rustling.

Please tell us what you like and dislike about this area:

It’s two minutes walk from a bus stop that has not 1 but 3 night buses so you can travel anytime if you don’t have a car. Within easy reach of about 4 rail stations. It takes 15 minutes on a train from Victoria to East croydon station it’s unbelievable! It’s within easy reach of local shops and there’s a Tesco local that’s open till late even on a Sunday. You can pop out fetch a pint of meal and be back in your apartment in under 10 minutes! Lots of shops and restaurants within reach and good connecting transport links with Wimbledon, Brixton, Gatwick, tooting m, Victoria to name but a few

Facilities are not good for the kids. The service is not great either . Not enough bins around here . 2 small bins for the whole area only. My flat is dark because of the exterior wall. A lot of mould and no ventilation . Tiny little vents . I feel safe living here. It is pet friendly . What I dislike are the wooden fences because the kids can hurt themselves.

I hate the balcony . The parking is not free. We have to use the same provider for water they can’t change it for 11 years . The concierge is only in the City house . Design is fine . We have air vents instead of windows. There are no windows in the bathroom.
