Living in my local area has both its positives and negatives. On the plus side, there’s a great variety of local shops, cafes, and restaurants, many of which are independently owned and offer quality food and service. The nearby open spaces are well-maintained and perfect for families and outdoor activities. Transport links are generally convenient, with buses and trains running regularly, although peak-hour services can get quite crowded. On my street, parking can be a challenge, especially in the evenings, and traffic noise can sometimes be noticeable. Bin collections are fairly reliable, but there have been occasional delays. Anti-social behaviour is rare, making the area feel safe overall.

How has the building management responded to any problems or issues you have raised:

Building management has generally responded promptly and professionally to any issues raised, though there is room for improvement in communication and follow-up in some cases.

Please share one thing (or more) which you wish you had known before you moved in:

One thing I wish I had known before moving in is how limited the visitor parking would be—it’s often full, especially on weekends, which can be frustrating for guests. Also, noise from nearby construction wasn’t mentioned during the viewing and can be disruptive at times. I’d recommend new neighbours ask about any upcoming developments in the area and double-check the parking arrangements if they plan to have frequent visitors.

The area has a good mix of shops and places to eat, and most things you need are within walking distance. There are also a few green spaces nearby which are nice for getting some fresh air. Transport is one of the strong points—Stevenage station is close and makes commuting pretty easy. Buses run regularly too, although traffic can get a bit busy at certain times, especially near the retail parks. The street is generally fine. It can get a little noisy now and then, which is expected being close to the town centre, but nothing too disruptive. Parking is okay if you have a space, but it’s a bit limited for visitors. Bin collections are on schedule and haven’t caused any issues. Overall, it’s a convenient place to live with both positives and a few minor downsides, like most town centre locations.

How has the building management responded to any problems or issues you have raised:

The building management has been helpful and responsive. Any issues raised were dealt with in a reasonable time and communication was clear throughout.

One thing I wish I had known before moving in is that parking for visitors can be quite limited, especially during busy times. It’s worth checking what your options are in advance. Also, occasional noise from the town centre can be noticeable at times.

Please tell us about the good and bad aspects of living in your local area:

Central arra, with good connections to London, Luton airport and most of the neighbouring towns. The pedestrianised area makes it safer and easier to walk around.

How has the building management responded to any problems or issues you have raised:

Quickly and with no bureaucracy. They sorted any problem within a short time.

Nothing important to consider at the moment. Overall, great experience.

Forge Yards in Stevenage is a well-designed development offering stylish, modern apartments with high-quality finishes and excellent amenities, including a landscaped roof terrace, secure parking, and a bike shed. The location is a major advantage, with easy access to shops, entertainment, and public transport.

How has the building management responded to any problems or issues you have raised:

They are always positive and quick to respond back.
