The building overall is nicely designed and is always kept clean to the highest standard. The actual design of apartments is beautifully laid out and I love how modern the apartments are overall. The communal areas in the car park are really nice especially as the apartments don’t have balcony’s so it gives you an option to sit outside when it’s sunny. The only downsides to the development would be the area as there are definitely a lack of shops in digbeth. I do expect that to change as more developments seem to be happening but overall I’ve really enjoyed the living in this development. In addition, the development itself can often get quite noisy especially during the night. I’ve been woken up multiple times due to loud music or shouting in flats and/or the communal area in the car park.

Please tell us what you like and dislike about this area:

The apartment itself is really modern and nicely designed. In terms of the local amenities, there isn’t much around the area at the minute. You have to go into the city centre if you need the shop (as the local cost cutter is really expensive!) I also love the design of the communal area in the car park however, it does often attract a lot of people to have parties which results in the development being extremely noisy, particularly at night.

Please share one thing (or more) which you wish you had known before you moved in:

I think the one thing I wish I knew was how loud and noisy the development can get, especially during the night. I suspect there are all types of individuals living in this development, including students, which often means you get woken up early hours of the morning due to loud music or shouting happening. I also wish I knew that there would be a lack of shops within the area. It means having to walk approx 20 minutes to get the nearest shop (unless you want to pay £1.80 for bread at the local cost cutter).

If there is one thing you would change about your flat or property what would it be:

Overall, I really like the apartment that I’m currently living in. The only aspect that I could suggest an improvement would be to have wall cupboards above the worktops as there are currently only bottom cupboards which can often be a pain to store everything in.

Fabrick square, Cotton lofts (building 2)

Design: Modern and fashionable but the quality of fixtures & fittings, furniture etc. inside and outisde the apartments is very cheap. I think the corridor carpets need thorough cleaning or replacement as they are filthy. The 1 small lift also breaks every another month.

Facilities: there is no other “facility” apart from parking and rubbish rooms. I would have thought a development this side could have a gym (even if paid) and or similar facilities.

Building management: Centrick property does a very poor job (at least in cotton lofts, building#2). they doesn’t even respond to emails and after 2 years of living here I am pretty sure it will remain a dream of mine to get a smart meter installed as no one in Centrick property can help out in approving/giving meter access for this.

Please tell us what you like and dislike about this area:

Like: The development is gated and to an extent secure, and is at a decent walking distance from city centre.

Dislike: the immediate vicinity/area seems very unsafe, full of chicken shops and car repair shops etc.

Please share one thing (or more) which you wish you had known before you moved in:

The area immediately outisde is full of filthy and noisy shops in the weekdays and loud cars racing at nights.

If there is one thing you would change about your flat or property what would it be:

Unfortunately there are multiple things wrong – need someone to facilitate to install a smart meter, replace the squeaky mattress and sofas

The design is fairly basic with every flat looking the same. The kitchen is far too small with virtually no space for preparing food and would suit a single person more than a couple.

The property management is good and I felt safe and well looked after had any issues occurred.

There is a small communal space but it isn’t very big – nice bike racks and plenty of parking space.

It’s nice and secure with the fobs and corridors always kept nice and clean.

Please tell us what you like and dislike about this area:

I like that it’s so close to Digbeth which has a lot going on and is really up and coming. The only downside is being far from big supermarkets but that’s more of a city centre issue I guess.

The area by our flat (cheapside) however is quite dirty and there isn’t much.

Please share one thing (or more) which you wish you had known before you moved in:

Storage space very limited and not a lot of room in the kitchen for preparing food at all. Much more suited to a singular person rather than two.

What is the best feature of your home:

Being in Digbeth and close to pubs such as Spotted Dog and the Old Crown

Satisfaction level is above average.

The design is pretty modern, with a central bin area beneath a small open lounge made of wood and some vegetation, good for chilling and taking a sun bath.

The parking doors are not controlled though and many people who is not resident leave their cars or people without allocated parking which is a downside.

Management is efficient but limited hours, if i were to have an emergency with a meter, the meter room is locked and if an engineer were to come it would be a bit of an inconvenience.

But overall its highly recommended and i am satisfied for now.

Please tell us what you like and dislike about this area:

It is really good located and well facilitated, but students are noisy and car park needs concierge.

Please share one thing (or more) which you wish you had known before you moved in:

no parking space

If there is one thing you would change about your flat or property what would it be:

The property is fully electric with energy saving devices which i don’t understand, i would prefer things simpler. But i understand the saving of the environment comes first.

Perfect for a first flat

Very modern design, love the raised garden in the car park it’s really nice when it’s good weather.

The appliances are perfect for anything you need but perhaps there couple be more space on the kitchen counters. After putting a microwave, kettle and toaster, there’s not much room for a chopping board etc

Please tell us what you like and dislike about this area:

Perfect distance from work and my university, the train station is 10 minutes away and local music venues are only a short walk away

Please share one thing (or more) which you wish you had known before you moved in:

That they don’t charge you for gas until the END of your tenancy

How has the building management responded to any problems or issues you have raised:

Hasn’t replied to a complaint I made 2 months ago.

Nice Apartments, Fair Price

Verified Resident
Verified Resident
Review Date Oct 2020

It’s a simple layout for the building and can be accessed on all four sides of the square. It has gated allocated parking. No concierge so parcels can’t be held with anyone. Bin store is close which is good. No onsite management to contact. Would be nice if there was a gym or more communal spaces to walk around in.

Please tell us what you like and dislike about this area:

Industrial area that’s currently still undergoing renovation. New apartment blocks are being built and the Digbeth regeneration will take a while to finish. So currently there aren’t many shops, but it is close to city centre and bars.

Please share one thing (or more) which you wish you had known before you moved in:

The panel heaters in the all electric flats take a while to heat the whole room.

What is the best feature of your home:

The best feature is probably the connectivity to the internet and TV. The broadband providers aren’t well known but their service has been excellent and easy to setup.

Nice place

New build and very close to town which useful for things like going to the shop for groceries. Apartments are a nice size and has an Open plan layout which is great. The windows are large and let in a lot of natural sign light. There’s a nice outdoor communal ground.

Please tell us what you like and dislike about this area:

Right near town – walking distance.

Please share one thing (or more) which you wish you had known before you moved in:

Electric meters are not within your apartments

If there is one thing you would change about your flat or property what would it be:

I’d prefer a bigger wardrobe and more kitchen cupboard space.

The development is a new build
and it’s very modern. Every time we have new visitors we get compliments. The rooms are spacious as well as the livingroom, the bathroom is modern and gives you hotel vibes. The price for a city centre appartment is great, see no reason to move out.

Please tell us what you like and dislike about this area:

I love Fabrick Square and the location, the development is beautiful and modern.

Please share one thing (or more) which you wish you had known before you moved in:

When I viewed this appartment it took me a year to move in, my dream became a reality.

What is the best feature of your home:

Our bathroom and my bedroom is the best feature. Also the communal area is beautiful!
