Modern building

Verified Resident

My boyfriend owns our flat and I moved in 2 years ago. He had previously rented in Angel but found it was much better value for money buying around here instead – he could get a 2 bed flat instead of a 1 bed and he now can walk to work.

The flat is really nice with a great layout. It feels modern and all the fixtures and fittings are done well with a great kitchen and balcony. Whenever friends come over people comment on how lovely it is. One thing I don’t like is that there is not much storage.

The lifts do break occasionally but we have an amazing on-site cleaner who is like a warden, she reports things immediately to A2 Dominion and they get sorted quite quickly by management, it does feel like we are being looked out for. We had an issue with security as the recycling room was left unlocked and homeless people were living in there and it felt unsafe.  Whilst we don’t have a concierge, they increased security for a while and got it sorted out.

The best standout features of the development are the amazing roof terraces, there are two and they are huge. They are really quiet, with lots of space and the most amazing views of the city. I definitely recommend going up there for sunset.

The residents don’t tend to mix much in terms of events though people speak when on the roof terrace, there is also a facebook group where residents discuss any issues.

I would definitely consider a new build again – I love the modern finish and the fact there are few issues with the flats as everything is new so no leaks. My colleagues have all been talking this week about the fact they haven’t slept in the heatwave, but our building is so well ventilated that it is warm in the winter but cool in the summer and we haven’t had that issue.

Please tell us what you like and dislike about this area:

I used to rent in Dalston and West London but find the connections here are so much better – it has halved my commute to work. There are not many things to do on your doorstep but I like the park and the canal.
There is a great coffee shop called Husk that has live music, poetry reading, creative nights and children events. We are also neat The Narrow which is Gordon Ramsey’s restaurant which is great for lunch and the Gandolf pub. Canary Wharf is a one mile walk away which has loads to offer.

Please share one thing (or more) which you wish you had known before you moved in:

There is parking available at an extra cost and some people who have spaces rent them out if you want one.

Not bad

Verified Resident

Space is fine and build is fine. Every other week one of the main lifts seems to be out of order and they seem to alternate so quite a few residents seem to think they just alternate them to save power. Everyone seems to keep to themselves

Please tell us what you like and dislike about this area:

Like the location, it’s a bit too close to the main road probably. Things within the building complex don’t get fixed very quickly

Please share one thing (or more) which you wish you had known before you moved in:

The area is developing, I’ve lived here for six years and can see more things growing and popping up

Happy to live here and recommend

Verified Resident

It’s quite modern which I like, the view is also amazing too. The facilities are fine. It’s not a huge apartment but for a one bedroom apartment you can’t expect much more so I am happy with it overall

Please tell us what you like and dislike about this area:

This area is quite nice close to the building but can get slightly more cluttered further away. Close to the dlr

Please share one thing (or more) which you wish you had known before you moved in:

We couldn’t find any recycling bins nearby so it should be signposted more clearly.

Apartment is nice but intruders

Verified Resident

The apartment is lovely but we often get intruders all the time. The rooms are smaller than necessary so that they can put more people in a flat. The location is great, facilities could be better as we don’t feel safe sometimes

Please tell us what you like and dislike about this area:

Tara sport is great and the location is perfect. The area is okay. Disappointed with security. Sometimes it gets really loud and there are a lot of drug related activities.

Please share one thing (or more) which you wish you had known before you moved in:

The lack of security is not great and they could take more care of that

Great place to live but kind of unsafe building

Verified Resident

The building is good but some of the communal stuff is not kept in too good of a condition. The security overall is not great so people can just enter and there have been some cases of people sleeping in the corridor. There is also no concierge.

Please tell us what you like and dislike about this area:

The area is close to all the interesting parts of the city which is good for work and socialising. The buildings are new and good quality

Please share one thing (or more) which you wish you had known before you moved in:

It’s easy for people to gain access to the building who do not live here.

Nice place

Verified Resident

My flat is good but it’s small. I like my kitchen is big and I do everything there, basically I spent the majority of my time in this room. The only thing that I do not like is that there is not concierge at the building and at night Get inside children and strangers at stairs.

Please tell us what you like and dislike about this area:

The area is quite. There is not much to do but it’s near Canary Wharf.

Please share one thing (or more) which you wish you had known before you moved in:

There is not someth that I wanted to knew before because I lived in another flat around.n

Nice house but expensive

My flat it’s really nice. I live up so I have perfect view. My favourite room it’s kitchen – dinning room – living room because is one open big area that combines these rooms and it’s perfect for gathering. The only thing that I do not like is that bedrooms are quite small.

Please tell us what you like and dislike about this area:

The area is very good. It’s close to the tube stops, close to marina and near to Canary Wharf. There are many shops around and a nice walking path to Canary Wharf.

Please share one thing (or more) which you wish you had known before you moved in:

There is not something that I wanted to knew before moved here because my friends lived here before and I knew that is a good development.
