The Copper Works, CF10

I've just moved in couple of weeks ago, and everything about Copper works feels safe, secure and trust worthy. The management is well connected, up to date and very efficient in the way they handle requests and complaints. The mobile app has been incredibly useful so far in receiving updates about repairs, building gatherings, announcements and even opportunities to contribute to charities. The way posts/mails are kept in a separate secured locker room for the residents to pick up whenever they want is something I've never seen before and I give that a massive applause. Copper works sets a high standard for residential experience and I'm happy I made the right choice moving here.

The flats are spacious and comfortable. New fittings and furnishings which are very well done. The team at the property is very supportive and helpful with any issues. Immediate resolution for most things. Only limitation with the flat is limited storage compartment in the kitchen and gym an have more equipment.

I’ve lived at The Copper Works in Cardiff for around 6 months now, and while the building itself is genuinely fantastic, my experience has been heavily overshadowed by how uncomfortable the front desk has become. The facilities are modern, clean, and a pleasure to live with, but walking through the entrance has turned into the part of my day I dread most. For me personally, the biggest issue has been interactions with the receptionist, *Name Removed*. In my own experience, their attitude often feels cold, confrontational, or dismissive, to the point where I actually hesitate before leaving my flat because I don’t want to deal with the atmosphere at the front door. It’s genuinely draining to live in such an impressive building but feel a knot in my stomach every time I pass through reception. I’ve spoken to multiple other residents who say they’ve also had uncomfortable interactions with *Name Removed*, and it’s disheartening to see how much this affects the overall feel of the building. The lobby should feel welcoming, not tense. The incident that really pushed me over the edge was when my friend received a parking fine after I was told it would be fine for her to stay. The way the situation was handled felt to me sarcastic and dismissive, and it left me feeling completely let down and frankly disrespected. What makes it worse is that many of us don’t feel confident raising concerns because it doesn’t seem like we’d be supported or listened to. That leaves residents feeling stuck, which only adds to the frustration. It’s especially noticeable because previous staff, like Jasmine, created such a warm and friendly environment that is genuinely missed. The Copper Works is an amazing place to live in so many ways, but the negativity at the front desk has become the most exhausting and demoralising part of living here.

I’m impressed by the design of The Copper Works in Cardiff — the building features a modern‑look façade, well-thought interiors, and a standout rooftop Sky Lounge with panoramic views. The facilities are excellent: gym, co-working spaces, private dining room, outdoor terraces, and resident events. Building management appears responsive with an on-site team and a “service first” promise for residents. Special mention to the residential service team: Karen, who works extremely hard and solves problems efficiently; Tara, who is energetic and always ready to help; and Laurent, who demonstrates great professionalism.

The building has shared workspaces, a dining area, rooftop, and gym, were major reasons I chose to live here at first. After moved in , I've always had pleasant experiences dealing with the onsite team. Karen, Jasmine, Lauren and Daniel, they’ve always been warm, friendly and ready to help with anything where they can. The shared areas are clean and well-maintained (thanks to James and the cleaning team). I believe everybody here works hard to create a welcoming environment to the tenants and I truly appreciated. If there’s one area for improvement, it would be the speed of repairs in the shared facilities— ie the gym’s treadmill has been out of order for a while. While I completely understand some repairs take time, providing a sign with estimated timelines - even approximate ones - would be greatly appreciated (help to manage our expectations).
