Responded promptly. I had some problems with the dishwasher which was promptly fixed.

Great location, next to public transport links, food shops and restaurant/bars. Neighbours are super lovely and respectful, and no anti-social/traffic noise.

When i raised an issue someone in reception would usually get back to me on the same day.

Please share one thing (or more) which you wish you had known before you moved in:

Cost of council tax and having spare keys for regular guests

Manager response

WARNING! DO NOT LIVE HERE!

Please tell us about the good and bad aspects of living in your local area:

The parking situation at the property is abysmal. You can see in other reviews that residents have been fined £300+ for parking outside. There are also homeless people who set up tents on the street outside the property, which is sad to see. This unfortunately also means that there is often a lot of litter scattered outside the property. It must be said that this litter is rarely picked up, so it can often go left for weeks or months.

How has the building management responded to any problems or issues you have raised:

The building management (Native Communities) have responded appalling. I have lodged a formal complaint to their executives, and I have contacted Nottingham City Council, who will be getting in touch with them to instruct them to carry out the necessary repairs.

Please share one thing (or more) which you wish you had known before you moved in:

NOT TO LIVE HERE!!! I honestly can’t emphasise this enough. Please DO NOT live here. It will be an uphill battle against noise, negligence, and unprofessionalism.

Manager response

Dear James, Thank you for taking the time to share your concerns. We are very sorry for the ongoing disruption you have experienced and understand how distressing this has been for you. The site team and our contractors have attended your apartment; however, on those visits the reported noise could not be identified. As the issue appears to be intermittent, the team has reached out to arrange out-of-hours contractor access so we can attend at a time when the noise is occurring. This will give us the best opportunity to understand the cause and take appropriate steps to resolve it. We also attempted to arrange access via our in-house maintenance team to inspect the fridge humming, but access was declined at the time. If you would like us to reattend for this, please contact the reception team and they will be happy to arrange a visit at a convenient time. We would also like to confirm that the local authority and council are welcome to contact us at any time as part of their investigation. While we have not yet been approached, we are fully committed to working collaboratively with them to help resolve any concerns. With regard to parking, we would like to clarify that resident parking is not available on the estate. Any parking is undertaken at residents’ own risk, and this is reinforced through clear on-site signage. Thank you for your feedback regarding the cleanliness of the area outside the British Waterways boundary. We are currently working with the local estate management team to help address this matter. Please be assured that we are here to support you and remain committed to working with you towards a resolution. In addition, our Head of Operations has emailed you separately to request a conversation to talk through the options available to support your experience and the longer-term enjoyment of your home. Kind regards, Bernadette Baker Community Manager British Waterfways

Please tell us about the good and bad aspects of living in your local area:

Central to Nottingham so an ideal place to live if you want access to nearby amenities. Quiet at night - parking a nightmare.

How has the building management responded to any problems or issues you have raised:

Haven’t raised anything yet so cannot comment on how it’s been handled.

Please share one thing (or more) which you wish you had known before you moved in:

How bad the parking was & the immersion boiler that doesn’t hold heat for longer than 24 hours

Manager response

Hello Alex, Thank you for your feedback. All our apartments are all electric as we do not have gas in the building, and the EPC rating for your home is D. Our maintenance technician will be able to attend to ensure the energy features in your home are set at optimum settings. Unfortunately we do not offer parking at British Waterways, further reinforced by the signage in place There are local NCP carparks that the community team can give you guidance on to find the most cost effective solution for your parking needs. If you do have any further issues you would like to discuss, please do not hesitate to coma end see myself or one of the team, where we will always be happy to help if we can.

The best flat I’ve seen in Nottingham, in terms of location, design, comfort, and the management is fantastic.

Please tell us about the good and bad aspects of living in your local area:

I think this is the best location in Nottingham! There’s everything around, and the train station is like a 4 minute walk away. Loads of cafes, restaurants, shops a huge Sainsbury’s, and other local supermarkets within a short walk

How has the building management responded to any problems or issues you have raised:

Very accommodating management. We had an issue with our washing machine (faulty machine) and the management gave us a solution immediately while dealing with the repairs. Also, they host fun little events every now and again for the tenants to participate in and get to know each other.

Please share one thing (or more) which you wish you had known before you moved in:

The only downside is that there is no parking, but we are very happy here with everything else. The management goes above and beyond.

Manager response

Hi Monica, thank you for your lovely words about the British Waterways team it means a lot! We are ecstatic to hear you have settled in nicely into the area, we are hosting a Christmas party event next week and would love to see you there!
