Wonderful location, close to all amenities. Area is well lit, and kept clean by staff. There is no parking, but we knew that before moving.

The staff have been excellent with any/ all queries we have had.

Please share one thing (or more) which you wish you had known before you moved in:

We wished we had asked more questions about the water heater, but that isn't something 5he staff need worry about.

Please tell us about the good and bad aspects of living in your local area:

The location is perfect—train station and National Express stop are literally next door. There’s a great selection of gyms, shops, and restaurants within walking distance, and you can often take the scenic canal route to get there. At the same time, it’s in a quiet, tucked-away area. There are some renovation works on the neighbouring building, but aside from that, it’s surprisingly peaceful for a city-centre location. The canal wildlife adds a lovely atmosphere—seagulls and all. There are plenty of bins, which is important in a 100-flat building, though it can take a little getting used to. It’s great having the management team on-site to ensure collections happen smoothly and nip any issues in the bud.

How has the building management responded to any problems or issues you have raised:

I’ve had a few issues and questions during my first couple of months, and the management team never brushed them off—always helpful and quick to act on whatever solution was needed. It’s a small team, so things can take a bit of time, but support is always there, which made settling in much more comfortable.

Please share one thing (or more) which you wish you had known before you moved in:

Here’s an insight - the broadband! My flat (and I assume all of them) has a full-fibre 1 Gbps option from Hyperoptic for only £20 extra, on top of the free internet included in the rent. It’s a fantastic deal. I work from home, and the connection has been consistently fast and reliable enough.

Manager response

Please tell us about the good and bad aspects of living in your local area:

The only thing that would improve the experience is being able to get a permit to park outside as other parking options are a bit far, expensive and less secure but apart from that, we’re extremely happy with everything - in fact it has succeeded our expectations. Amazing, smart apartments - we have settled in very quickly. Absolutely love it and love not having a landlord or having to deal with estate agents. Bernadette and Will are amazing - super friendly, helpful and down to earth. We feel like we’re in good hands and feel incredibly lucky to have discovered this gem.

How has the building management responded to any problems or issues you have raised:

They have been absolutely fantastic and everything is sorted quickly and with respect.

Please share one thing (or more) which you wish you had known before you moved in:

Just the parking - if we could get a permit for right outside, our experience would be 100% perfect.

Manager response

Please tell us about the good and bad aspects of living in your local area:

Living at the new British Waterways has been a wonderful experience so far. The location is unbeatable, with a great mix of shops, cafes, bars, and restaurants just a short walk away. Having the canal right on the doorstep adds a sense of peace and open space, perfect for walks and relaxation. Transport links are excellent, making it easy to get around Nottingham and further. The area feels safe and well looked after, with regular bin collections and well-maintained streets. Parking is just across the road. I have yet to experience any issues with noise or antisocial behaviour, it really is a fantastic place to call home.

How has the building management responded to any problems or issues you have raised:

The building management team has been excellent. On the occasions when I’ve needed to ask something, they’ve always responded quickly and helped with whatever the matter was. It’s very reassuring knowing they are so approachable and reliable.

Please share one thing (or more) which you wish you had known before you moved in:

I wish I would have known just how close everything is; I would have been even more thrilled and excited when my move in date was approaching!

Please tell us about the good and bad aspects of living in your local area:

City centre location directly next to train, tram, coach and bus links - couldn’t be better situated for commuters. Lovely shops, coffeehouses and pubs less than 5 mins walk away. Close to large Sainsbury’s (15 mins walk along the canal). Canal setting is very calm and serene, minimal noise and disruption. Many canal boats moor outside, adding to the atmosphere. The apartment is almost soundproof, so very little noise from the main road and train station (with windows closed, you’d not hear a thing).

How has the building management responded to any problems or issues you have raised:

N/A as no issues have been reported, however it is clear how to submit service requests via Loft.

Please share one thing (or more) which you wish you had known before you moved in:

We have a cat - we wish we’d paid more attention to how the windows open so we could have prepared. But that’s on us!

Manager response
