Would 100% recommend to anyone looking for an easy, convenient flat in the city centre

We loved living at Box Makers for 2.5 years and only left because we wanted to buy our own property! Would 100% recommend to anyone looking for an easy, convenient flat in the city centre. Also pet friendly! Facilities/management - The gym in the building was incredible and open 24/7 so we used this all the time. The foh staff were always helpful often held social events for us and the 24/7 parcel room was really useful for deliveries when we weren’t at home. The communal area was perfect for us to study/work when we wanted more space and Mykoko is open later than most cafes which is really convenient.

Please tell us about the good and bad aspects of living in your local area:

Location/travel - Amazing for commuting to Bristol city centre. Quick walk to the train station, local cafes and very convenient having a Sainsbury’s in the building. However very long waiting list for a parking space and expensive so would recommend not having a car as public transport is so easy. Not much green space in the local area but would recommend a quick walk to castle park, a train to Bath or a bus to the Clifton downs for some fresh air! Noise - On the top floor we didn’t experience any traffic/construction noise at all and loved how quiet the flat was for wfh and couldn’t hear our neighbours at all. Quite a few homeless people on the streets outside the building but didn’t have any bad experiences with them personally. Views - Really really recommend the top floor flats facing North/East as the views were such a highlight for us (see pictures!)

How has the building management responded to any problems or issues you have raised:

Maintenance team responded quickly and fixed any issues easily.

Please share one thing (or more) which you wish you had known before you moved in:

You don’t need a car as the location is so central and parking is limited and expensive.

Really good development, twenty four seven gym and event space for bookings, security really friendly too. Flate space is brilliant, comfy furniture, clean on arrival and modern interior and exterior. Management is always really communicative and friendly.

Please tell us about the good and bad aspects of living in your local area:

Good connections, parking, bars and event spaces. Fun neighbourhood, quiet to get to sleep, good coffee shops.

How has the building management responded to any problems or issues you have raised:

Extremely quickly and effectively, understanding too.

Please share one thing (or more) which you wish you had known before you moved in:

Different options of flats available depending on what suits your needs.

Flat in Bristol, definitely BMY :D

The building is fantastic!! It has common areas to work, play board games or socialise watching tv events or playing pool. During summer time the rooftop terrace is great for outdoor activities reading, painting or playing cards. They also have communal apartments to rent for special occasions or celebrations as there are spacious for big gatherings. The flats overall have a practical modern design which makes you feel like home very quickly. The gym of course, exercise lovers will enjoy the 24h gym!! With a lot of different equipments to work out each part of the body. Highly recommend living in BMY!

Please tell us about the good and bad aspects of living in your local area:

Hello all, The quality shops around the area is very good, you can find everything within 15 min walking distance. Regarding transport is perfect because BMY is within 5 min to the main train station in Bristol -Temple Meads and airport bus! In addition, you can get within 15 min to the main bus station for long distance buses and explore UK. Our street is quite popular during the day as there are many offices around and food street market twice a week. The bin collection is good. The only inconvenient is the road maintenance work, and once every few months… The noise is hard to feel as BMY building has thick windows that isolate that problem.

How has the building management responded to any problems or issues you have raised:

Yes, during our finalisation of the contract we weren’t sure about the status of the flat and the team came and assess us and help us with deep cleaning of the oven.

Please share one thing (or more) which you wish you had known before you moved in:

I wish I was able to visit the flat in person, I saw it online through a video. Then, later on once I saw it in person was even more spectacular. All good.

Classy living in the coolest place, run by the most awesome team ever

It's really well designed and the facilities are amazing, especially the gym I just feel guilty that I don't spend much in the resident lounge since I'm a bit of an introvert. However, it's lovely that the shared areas encourage a community feel. It feels like a very peaceful place to live. The staff here are absolutely amazing. I love them a lot, having been here for 3 years or so. Michal, Vilius Mary, Tomas, Mike (too many to mention, I love them all) and the crew have been so kind, attentive, responsive and supportive in every way. I sometimes suffer from loneliness, living alone, so I really appreciate having a friendly face to talk to. The security are also legends and make me feel really safe living here. My experience of living here has actually genuinely changed my life very positively in so many ways. I'm incredibly grateful that I've had the opportunity to live here and I'll be so sad when my contract runs out.

Please tell us about the good and bad aspects of living in your local area:

It's an awesome area with easy access to shops, amazing bars, venues and nightclubs. Super close to the train station. The bus stops are about 10 mins walk away, but that's rarely a problem. The only challenging aspects are late night noise from drunk people and lack of easy parking, but that's to be expected from such a central location. At the moment there is regular noise pollution from local roadworks and development works but this is temporary and not an issue since the building and windows are so well sound proofed. It feels a bit odd living amongst office buildings in terms of the general vibe but you get used to it pretty quickly and all these things are standard for city centers in general.

How has the building management responded to any problems or issues you have raised:

They always respond super quick to resolve any issues

Please share one thing (or more) which you wish you had known before you moved in:

Make use of all the facilities, especially the roof terraces. The views are epic.

Central location, lovely management team and great facilities - but no green space or natural light

Ellie b (Tenant)

Sept 2024

The front of house team were brilliant- friendly and helpful, especially Michal. Gym, parcel room and work space all great. While the building looked stylish, our flat never had light coming in despite it facing the right way, because of the horseshoe shape. We had paid extra for the balcony which we never used because it never saw the sun. That was a real negative over time.

Please tell us about the good and bad aspects of living in your local area:

Good location for getting into town and the harbour, and for the train station (perfect for me to commute to London once or twice a week). Good coffee and pubs nearby. Drawbacks are not much green space, unsafe street parking or very expensive BMY parking.

How has the building management responded to any problems or issues you have raised:

Quickly and responsively, really helpful and patient

Please share one thing (or more) which you wish you had known before you moved in:

No natural light in our particular flat and no decent green space nearby (ie close enough ti have a walk before work/at lunch) / important if you don’t have a garden
