Great property but building management is unreliable

The interior design of the property is really top tier. In comparison to most developments in the area, this appeared to be the most neat and posh and it didn’t disappoint in that regard. The rooms are spacious and family friendly but word of mouth has suggested that the building management isn’t the best. According to some tenants they have held polls about changes they want to make to the development but haven’t consulted all tenants which leads to some tenants being unhappy with the changes. They’ve also increased service charges in the time I’ve been here. In terms of renting the property is good but I wouldn’t like to be an owner here. With that being said the property has bike storage and a very nice concierge which is a nice touch.

Please tell us what you like and dislike about this area:

Transport really good but no tubes nearby, very busy and noisy in the area as there in an ambulance service and a fire station nearby which adds to the noise. No local shops or supermarkets nearby so shopping becomes a massive pain.

Please share one thing (or more) which you wish you had known before you moved in:

Not really did all my research prior to moving in here.

What is the best feature of your home:

The spec of the whole development for the cost, best value for money.

Overall we are happy with the purchase, the flat is lovely and new, the area is conveniently located and very well linked. The concierge service was great but now they only have temping staff and the standard has lowered.

Please tell us what you like and dislike about this area:

Great location and plenty of amenities, but the crime rate is worst than we thought

Please share one thing (or more) which you wish you had known before you moved in:

The construction businesses around can be noisy and disruptive

What is the best feature of your home:

The View is absolutely the best feature in our flat as we live on a high floor

Noisy, like try to sleep in a disco in the middle of the night

Review Date Jun 2020

People partying on balconies late at night or screaming into their mobile phones on balconies.

Irresponsible and inconsiderable residents, security do not care and do not check and make sure people comply with a certain standards and house rules.

Nicely done homes with a good atmosphere

Review Date Mar 2018

I’ve been searching for somewhere as close to the Bermondsey Street area as possible, so this development is a bit further out than I would have liked. However, I found it had a modern, young vibe and I loved the apartment interiors (I viewed a one bedroom). The streets in the immediate vicinity feel a bit run-down in comparison to the building itself, but I guess that’s a compliment to Bermondsey Works!

More shared ownership needed

Review Date Mar 2018

The shared ownership allocation needs to be reviewed, there were only 10 flats allocated to s/o and it is just a lottery for any of us interested. The developer got away with only providing 10 as they were putting funding into a new local school, this school has now been scrapped so what next? There appears to be lots of flats still empty so why can’t they be offered over to s/o?

Deluxe homes in an enviably-connected development

Deluxe homes in an enviably-connected development

Review Date Mar 2018

Development giant Telford Homes brings us Bermondsey Works, a contemporary property in the well-connected and up-and-coming South Bermondsey neighbourhood.

From the property, it’s less than a 10-minute walk to South Bermondsey Street Station, which means sought-after South London areas like Canary Wharf, bustling Borough Market, and the iconic South Bank stretch are within easy reach. Plus, you’ve got two leafy parks – Burgess and Southwark – within walking distance. Perfect for sunny weekend picnics.

The property’s exteriors sync nicely with the area’s vibrant, urban establishments, thanks to a facade that teams charcoal and white panelling with flashes of neon pink and green. Buyers have a choice of one, two and three-bed apartments, as well as a selection of villas and penthouses. While floorplans differ depending on what you go for, the same deluxe styling is evident across them all.

Inside, doors and woodwork are finished in white satinwood, and walls painted in a clean, white emulsion. Sleek, woodstrip laminate flooring covers the majority of the homes, but there’s luxurious carpet in the bedrooms. Kitchens come courtesy of local London designer Urban Myth, and feature a suite of Smeg appliances and ambient unit lighting. Move into the bedrooms, and a neutral colour palette plays host to mirrored sliding wardrobes.

Bathrooms, meanwhile, are suitably calming – bright-white suites with ceramic tiling and chrome accents. Lasting impressions are of quality, premium living spaces.

Shared facilities include a well kitted-out gym, a 24-hour concierge service, underground car parking and bicycle storage. And one of the property’s best features is its duo of landscaped roof gardens. Residents can relax here with a sundowner and enjoy impeccable London views.

With all that in mind, it’s little wonder this development’s in such high demand. And with remaining units available on the Help To Buy scheme, those looking for a more affordable slice of South London should enquire sooner rather than later.
