There's a nice park near the development. It's in a great location as its close to public transports. There is also a local shop in the development.

How has the building management responded to any problems or issues you have raised:

I recently moved into Apo Barking development but the management team have being welcoming and helped make my move in on the day easier. Abbey was helpful, friendly and engaging.

All relevant information were given to me beforehand

It looks dangerous late nights walking alone. Rest everything is good. Premises are maintained very well. Appreciate that

How has the building management responded to any problems or issues you have raised:

Very quick. Happy with services provided in apo barking

Closet in bedrooms are open without any doors. Thats the only one

Please tell us about the good and bad aspects of living in your local area:

Commute isvery accessible, Barking station is just 10-15 minutes away! There are nearby bus stops. Barking center and market is just around the corner so everything you need is available. There is a convenient store in the building, Tesco, Asda, Lidl and many others are within your reach.

How has the building management responded to any problems or issues you have raised:

Whenever I have issues in my flat they respond quickly. So far in my nearly 4 years of stay here it has been good for me, I have no complains.

Please share one thing (or more) which you wish you had known before you moved in:

At first when I moved to this area I thought it was not safe, but turns out I’m just fine. I have a quiet neighborhood, the Barking center is crowded but so far okay. Some people are nice. To be fair I find convenience since moving to this place and feels very at home now. It’s not the safest area but you will be just fine.

Please tell us about the good and bad aspects of living in your local area:

The Barking area has been overall quite convenient for us. There’s a good variety of local shops, and we’ve found the restaurants and cafés nearby to be pretty decent, giving us plenty of options when we’re out and about. Transport links are great, Barking Station is just a short walk away, which makes commuting super easy. In terms of open spaces, there are a few parks we’ve enjoyed visiting with the family, and it's nice to have access to greenery. Living on our street has been fairly quiet overall, though like any urban area, there are the occasional noises, particularly during peak traffic times. We haven’t had issues with parking, and bin collections have been reliable, which is always a plus. The only downside we’ve encountered is a difficult situation involving theft, which was frustrating, but it was handled with care by the support team at the development.

How has the building management responded to any problems or issues you have raised:

Building management has always been responsive and helpful whenever we’ve raised any concerns. We’ve never felt ignored or dismissed. Whether it was a simple request or a more serious issue, they handled everything with professionalism and empathy. The support team really made sure we felt taken care of during both minor inconveniences and more challenging situations.

Please share one thing (or more) which you wish you had known before you moved in:

One thing I wish we had known before moving in is how much we’d come to rely on the great support from the host team. We knew the property itself was nice, but the team’s genuine care and attention really stood out in a way we weren’t expecting. I would definitely recommend anyone moving in to reach out early to get to know the team, they’re a huge asset to making this place feel like home. Additionally, while the area has a lot of positives, being aware of the occasional traffic noise or disturbances in a busy area might be helpful to set expectations. But overall, it’s been a nice place to live.

Living in Barking offers a mix of positives and challenges. The area benefits from excellent transport links, with Barking Station providing access to multiple train and tube lines, making commuting into central London convenient. It's also undergoing major regeneration, bringing new developments, improved public spaces, and more amenities, while remaining relatively affordable compared to other London boroughs. The diverse, multicultural community adds vibrancy, and there are several green spaces like Barking Park for outdoor leisure. On the downside, ongoing construction can cause some disruption, and parts of the town centre still feel a bit run-down. While crime can be a concern in certain areas, efforts are being made to improve safety.

How has the building management responded to any problems or issues you have raised:

The building management responds quickly to issues. Maintenance is fast and efficient. While there can occasionally be a short waiting list, all major problems are resolved promptly and professionally.
