Please tell us about the good and bad aspects of living in your local area:

Scholars View is close to main bus links to Newcastle, Sunderland and Durham all with regular services throughout the day. The local shops are convenient to the site and have good opening hours. Parking on the site is excellent with individual spaces and plenty of spaces for visitors. Bins are collected on Tuesdays and have never experienced any issues with this. The site has CCTV - and we have never experienced any anti-social behavior. There are lots of walks in nature very close by including large wooded areas with deer, foxes and birds of prey. A 15 - 20 minute drive will have you at a beach that all cater for dogs all year round - perfect.

How has the building management responded to any problems or issues you have raised:

Yes - we had issues with the front door - was reported and sorted within hours

Please share one thing (or more) which you wish you had known before you moved in:

Garden storage - needed to get this as there is not outside storage. Also would really have liked to have an outside tap.

Manager response

Hi Julie, Thank you for sharing your feedback! We’re glad to hear you’ve enjoyed the spacious design of your bungalow and the lovely kitchen and garden areas at Scholars View. It’s great to know that dave and our management team has been easy to contact and responsive when issues arise - we’ll be sure to pass on your kind words. We’re also pleased that you’ve enjoyed the location, with excellent bus links, convenient local shops, safe parking, and nearby green spaces for walks. It sounds like you’ve really made the most of everything the area has to offer, including the beaches for dogs, that’s such a great tip for other residents! We appreciate your feedback on garden storage and an outside tap; it’s always helpful to hear what could make the home even more convenient. Thank you again for your comments. We’re glad our team has been quick to respond and support you whenever needed. Best wishes,

Please tell us about the good and bad aspects of living in your local area:

Positive aspects: It is close to the bus stop, which connects directly to Newcastle (X1 line from Go North); it is close to the primary school and within walking distance to the NHS clinic. Negative aspects: traffic noise, some residents use for their dogs a children’s playground.

How has the building management responded to any problems or issues you have raised:

I raised two different requests via the landlords platform and both of them were resolved within reasonable time.

Please share one thing (or more) which you wish you had known before you moved in:

We moved into this house being well informed, so we didn’t find any “hidden” issues afterwards.

Please tell us about the good and bad aspects of living in your local area:

Quiet area and good neighbours. Low crime rate. And in regards to chops ,Aside Aldi, there is not much quality chop around. No restaurant not even McDonald's and KFC. Poor transport links

How has the building management responded to any problems or issues you have raised:

Swifts response when maintenance is being reported in the app.

Please share one thing (or more) which you wish you had known before you moved in:

Overall, it's a very pleasant and friendly area. The biggest tip I could give to a new neighbor is to take the time to chat with the people on your street. Everyone is very welcoming, and they are your best source of information about the little things that make life here so easy

Manager response

Hi OJ, Thanks so much for your lovely review. We’re really happy to hear you’re enjoying your home, especially the kitchen, garden space, and the benefit of good insulation. It’s also great to know you’ve found the Scholars View neighbourhood quiet, friendly, and welcoming , and that you’ve had positive experiences with your neighbours. We really appreciate your feedback on transport links and local shops, as well as your tip for new residents! It’s also great to hear our maintenance team have been able to respond quickly when you’ve needed support. Thank you again for recommending us, we’re glad you feel at home here at Scholars View. Best,

How has the building management responded to any problems or issues you have raised:

Not jnstant but they respond within two days. Once book the lads come and get sone the work. People who work are mostly polite.

Please share one thing (or more) which you wish you had known before you moved in:

It is a really nice neighbour hood to live with a calm and quiet environmemt. Before vome please check previous tenant billing and try to change energy provider if it is scottish gas.

Please tell us about the good and bad aspects of living in your local area:

The location is perfect, 10/15 minutes from Durham centre and also dalton park. There is also a Garage for fuel just 30 seconds down the road

How has the building management responded to any problems or issues you have raised:

Building management is great when it is available however with so many properties per manager I suspect there may be need to dilute the workload as it can be difficult to have issues dealt with at times.

Please share one thing (or more) which you wish you had known before you moved in:

I wish I had known the garden was going to be left in such disarray without being sorted. I believe if we are greeted with a property in which we need to spend money on to bring upto standards, then that should be taken off the rent for that particular work as it was not upto standard to begin with.
