Beautiful apartments in great location near Greenwich centre.

Review Date May 2022

The building, the apartments and the facilities are beautifully designed with a modern feel and lovely furniture. There are several useful amenities like car hire on location (via an app), very reasonably priced extra storage, gorgeous communal areas and more. Some amenities (like the guest apartment which can be rented for visitors, or parking spaces) are very sought after so require booking well in advance. When little things go wrong in the apartment (such as leaks or minor technical issues) the handymen are brilliant, fixing everything quickly and efficiently! Only thing that couldn’t be fixed was the weak shower pressure in one of the bathrooms. The residents team is helpful and approachable, and there is someone around 24/7 (either residents staff or security) which is great. The building is very safe. As a pet owner I wish other pet-owning residents were more thoughtful/respectful in terms of lead rules etc, but this is not really the fault of management.

Please tell us what you like and dislike about this area:

The apartments are very near the centre of Greenwich, so with just a short walk one can reach many cafes and restaurants. There are also lots of open spaces with the Cutty Sark being very near, the Royal Navy College and of course Greenwich park (all within 5-12 min walk). Transport links are good with two DLR stations nearby and a bus stop right outside the block. The main street is fairly busy with traffic but not too noisy. Parking is not easy and unfortunately the area behind the building can be extremely dirty with lots of litter everywhere. If you only walk towards Greenwich though you can avoid this completely. Also, shops are a bit touristy but Lewisham is easy to get to for more “everyday” type shopping. One thing I really miss is a good farmers market.

Please share one thing (or more) which you wish you had known before you moved in:

There are very many pets in the building, which is great (I have two) but this requires a bit of effort and management if you have a nervous/anxious dog. In all other aspects this is a fantastic place to live. The for-hire roof-top dining rooms/kitchens/bbqs are a fabulous idea and offer a brilliant way to entertain guests without the headache of having lots of people in your home!

How has the building management responded to any problems or issues you have raised:

We haven’t had any major problems but anything small that has occurred (leaks, minor issue with heating etc) have been dealt with quickly and efficiently by the in-house team.

Manager Response

Thanks for your review EV!

Please, manage a cleaning service for residents

Review Date Jan 2023

Design is nice. I like the beige color, I like that everything looks fresh and clean. The amenities are also very nice and beautiful. Probably, I would like to have curtains instead of blinds, but it’s a really small thing and I’m not sad about it. I like that windows are regularly cleaned, thank you for this! The only thing that I would like to add is a cleaning service so that I could order it

Please tell us what you like and dislike about this area:

Everything is really good, the staff is very nice and helpful, I’m happy that I chose it as my home

The only thing that I would like to additionally have is a cleaning service.
I noticed that a lot of residents need a house cleaning service, they regularly post requests on Facebook. And it would be really helpful to have it as a service from essentialliving. Can you please tell me if it’s possible to organize it for us? We would be even happier. Thank you for caring about us!

Please share one thing (or more) which you wish you had known before you moved in:

I didn’t know that there’s no an apartment cleaning service so that everyone could order it. Anything else is perfect

How has the building management responded to any problems or issues you have raised:

They always were very helpful. I I’ve never faced any issues with them

Fabulous!

Review Date Dec 2022

Union Wharf is an excellent place to live. The apartments are modern, comfortable and well fitted. The roof top view is just amazing all year round. This is our first experience of living in London having moved here with our two dogs from an idyllic farmhouse in Sussex, and it has not disappointed us in any way. Other residents are friendly and it’s a fabulous dog friendly community. Everything runs smoothly with an excellent residents team. Any negatives? Some may find it noisy, but the windows are well insulated and you would not know you are surrounded by neighbours. Rent is a tad more expensive if you only compare the number of bedrooms with other rentals, but for us it’s like living in a hotel, just without a cocktail bar and a chocolate on the pillow.

Please tell us what you like and dislike about this area:

Nicely located near a Waitrose and ahort walk either to Cutty Sark or Greenwich stations – and a bus stop right outside. We have dogs so plenty of places to walk, hop over the road for a walk along the Thames or a couple of small parks east or west. Bit further on then you’re in Greenwich Park. The street behind is a only really wide enough for single traffic so can be a bit interesting on bin day if you drive a car. Area is nice, but the street behind can get a bit untidy as a lot of the locals have yet to figure out what a bin is used for. Around Union Wharf there some planted areas which are well looked after. There are frequent FB posts about phones being stolen on or around Creek Road, but I think this is not unusual and you just need to have locational awareness.

Please share one thing (or more) which you wish you had known before you moved in:

My first thought about living in London was that I’d rather poke my eye out with a stick. Can honestly say that my experience of living at Union Wharf over the past year has completely changed my view. Love it.

How has the building management responded to any problems or issues you have raised:

Not many problems while we’ve been here, and those we had were addressed very quickly. No issues with the management team.

Great place to live

Review Date Dec 2022

Brilliant building with incredible facilities. Communal top floor is a great space with bbqs and group areas. Very responsive with any issues even if it can take a few times to get something fixed. Slightly strange rules regarding use of the bbq (max 4 guests) but it’s a minor point

Please tell us what you like and dislike about this area:

Love Greenwich. Town vibe but in Zone 2. The market & park is great and there are lots of cosy pubs around. Not good for nightlife

Please share one thing (or more) which you wish you had known before you moved in:

None to mention other than having known to book the guest room far in advance!

How has the building management responded to any problems or issues you have raised:

Yes, they respond quickly. Our underfloor heating hasn’t been working and they have worked with us to escalate the issue

Great place to live!

Verified Resident

Review Date Dec 2022

Beautiful facilities, great amenities, lovely design, super friendly staff. It’s great having someone at reception 24/7. I feel very safe here. It’s great that the flats are pet friendly although there are quite a few dogs so it could be tricky for anyone with pups who struggle around other dogs. Some residents don’t adhere to leash rules and get away with it.

Please tell us what you like and dislike about this area:

Great location for restaurants and cafes, near public transport, not noisy (at least on our side of the building), no anti-social behaviour. The streets at the back of the building are a bit dirty with rubbish lying around.

Please share one thing (or more) which you wish you had known before you moved in:

Low water pressure (only in one shower), sheer number of dogs

How has the building management responded to any problems or issues you have raised:

We have barely had any issues at all but management is quick to respond if there are any.

Some might think the gym is quite small but it has everything you need.

Review Date Dec 2022

There are some small things within the apartment that could be better designed or structured, like the balcony floors, however all in all it looks and is built great in terms of insulation. The common spaces are amazing. Some might think the gym is quite small but it has everything you need.

Please tell us what you like and dislike about this area:

It’s great! There a really big Waitrose is just across the road and there’s a Tesco’s nearby as well.

Please share one thing (or more) which you wish you had known before you moved in:

They hold events at the apartment building for the tenants and they are so lovely, food and drinks are provided and the Christmas party was organised in such a lovely way.

How has the building management responded to any problems or issues you have raised:

Usually they’re always quite good at getting back to you about any problems.

Having heard about Union Wharf through my friend, I was eager to move in as soon as I could. We’re now neighbours and I am so happy. There are always fun events, great amenities and service from the concierge team. It makes hosting dinners a treat for my friends.

Please tell us what you like and dislike about this area:

By far the best flat I’ve ever lived in, especially as it’s in my favourite part of London. Amenities, services and features are all fantastic.

Please share one thing (or more) which you wish you had known before you moved in:

I wish I knew about it sooner! Great to have a gym and social spaces to hang out in the evening. Also amazing to know there’s a guest flat if I have friends staying for a weekend

How has the building management responded to any problems or issues you have raised:

I’ve only had the odd small issue that needed fixing, these were all done within a day or two. Couldn’t ask for better service!

Love living at Collier Point!

Review Date Dec 2022

I share the flat with my friend and it’s a perfect size for two university students. The living/common area is good enough for when we have friends over, and the access to the rooftop is also incredible. We order quite a bit of packages online so having a friendly concierge is something that we are definitely very grateful for!

Please tell us what you like and dislike about this area:

I love living at Union Wharf! I’m a student at the University of Greenwich and the location is perfect, just a short walk to campus. Easy access to the DLR and the bus stops right in front of Collier Point which is a win! Traffic noise is very bearable and can basically only be heard if you leave your windows open.

Please share one thing (or more) which you wish you had known before you moved in:

I wish I knew how accessible we were to everything!

How has the building management responded to any problems or issues you have raised:

Whenever we’ve had issues with heating or anything in our flat, it’s been so easy to get it checked out or repaired within a few days.

Union Wharf – highly recommended!

Verified Resident

Review Date Dec 2022

The building at Union Wharf looks brand-new. The entrance is cosy and the building employees are always friendly. The rooftop area is amazing to have a coffee or just chill with friends. The fitness area has an amazing view and the apartments are all very modern in decoration and clean.

Please tell us what you like and dislike about this area:

The location of Union Wharf is brilliant, close to supermarkets, theatres, local shops, the tube and Greenwich park, yet the immediate neighbourhood is quiet and family-friendly.

Please share one thing (or more) which you wish you had known before you moved in:

The neighborhood is very family friendly. Pictures of the entrance hall and roof top area would have been great as well.

How has the building management responded to any problems or issues you have raised:

Yes, we has an issue with our dryer and they immediately called maintenance to repair it the same day!

A place to call home

Verified Resident
Verified Resident
Review Date Dec 2022

Union Wharf is a stunning development – modern, stylish, and a place with a communal feel. The buildings are both by the Creek, which makes a serene sight out of your window or on your walk to/from home. There are beautifully designed communal areas on the top floor of both buildings, including communal work space / play areas and rentable dining and barbecue areas for hosting. You also have a gym. There are parking and zipcar facilities, storage rooms and bike storage. The flat itself is also modern, stylish and spacious. The residential team are incredibly approachable and friendly – they make you feel welcome and at home! And if there are any issues, they are sure to help find a solution. It such a joy to live in a place like this!

Please tell us what you like and dislike about this area:

Greenwich is a very pretty part of London to live in, with the Cutty Sark, the Maritime Museum and Greenwich park just a stone’s throw away. It is not that far from Central London, but also has more residential/town-like feel. There are bus lines at the doorstep, the DLR and even the railway, all to connect you to the heart of London. More recently they have also opened a new cycling path. Living by the Creek, you have the perks of Greenwich Market and shops in Greenwich on one side, and more variety of shops on the other side, by Deptford.

Please share one thing (or more) which you wish you had known before you moved in:

The team here organise events to help people in the building meet and mingle. It reflects the communal spirit within the building.

How has the building management responded to any problems or issues you have raised:

The team has always been very approachable and straightforward about any issues with the flats. They are always ready to help.
