Design and build of the houses are to a good standard when compared with other developments. Spacious properties - seems a friendly housing estate. Not too many things to note from the snagging and fixes were done in a timely manner if the pressure remained on after sales. Local area is nice with good schools, supermarkets and outdoor spaces nearby.

Please tell us about the good and bad aspects of living in your local area:

Good development with nicely designed houses. Good location with amenities close by. Several developments in progress or being planned in the area so slight concern about the infrastructure.

How has the building management responded to any problems or issues you have raised:

Responsive with some aspects, often needed chasing.

Please share one thing (or more) which you wish you had known before you moved in:

That the houses have shared gardens - don’t like that aspect of the design.

Beautiful development!

The development has a great quality of design! I love the aesthetics of the house design, with lovely brick work and different colours of doors. The estate is beginning to develop nice walking paths that lead to the main road and allow you to walk through the estate.

Please tell us about the good and bad aspects of living in your local area:

The location of development is a short distance into Feniscowles which has a local Tesco, local restaurants & cafes, great walks and a great primary school. The development is a short drive from the motorway which makes it accessible for travel. The development itself has a lovely community and it’s a quiet development with only people from the estate walking and driving through and it has no traffic noise. Only downside is living at the top of a hill as it makes for a tough cardio workout when walking however there are accessible walks from the top of the development which avoid the hill!

How has the building management responded to any problems or issues you have raised:

After we moved in, we received great immediate aftercare that addressed any snags or defaults noted. The site team were quick to respond and were great with us. Since then, we got a contact from the aftercare team to discuss any problems that occurred later down the line. The aftercare team have been great and despite sometimes having to wait a while for some of the external providers to sort out problems, the team have been great in communicating. We have now had any issues resolved and remain hopeful that if anything was to occur they would be helpful.

Please share one thing (or more) which you wish you had known before you moved in:

NA - there’s nothing I can think of! Everything has been what it seemed

The area is nice to live in. The specification of the houses are to a high standard and the quality and finish is better than other developers in the area. There are 2 or 3 other developments in the area which does make me wonder about the impact on infrastructure.

Please tell us about the good and bad aspects of living in your local area:

Good local access to a range of shops, restaurants, bars and open spaces. Neighbours seem nice and offer help and advice via the Facebook group.

How has the building management responded to any problems or issues you have raised:

Yes although can be slow and not always a satisfactory outcome.

Please share one thing (or more) which you wish you had known before you moved in:

The roads are quite narrow and parking can be an issue for visitors - shared gardens!

Great, but not what they promise.

Design is great, however not much effort on renewables. Suggest more auditing of subcontractors work by developer to ensure quality is being delivered. House is lovely and spacious. Garden space is amazing and big. Garage is exactly what I wanted. Poor aftercare service, had to be rude to get major things sorted even after 2 years!

Please tell us about the good and bad aspects of living in your local area:

All necessary shops are nearby for groceries, DIY, house decorations, pharmacy, etc). No traffic noise and great scenery and walks nearby.

How has the building management responded to any problems or issues you have raised:

In all honesty sometimes it has been poorly and other times alright.

Please share one thing (or more) which you wish you had known before you moved in:

Although promised being delivered quality this was not the case throughout the house.

Buying with Story Homes

The houses on the development are beautiful to look at and the layout of houses has been well considered. However, access to the cycle path is limited which makes taking our young child for a bike ride difficult, as well as navigating round the development with a pram. Property management and rectifying “snags” has been hit and miss since moving into our home.

Please tell us about the good and bad aspects of living in your local area:

The distance from our home to the shops in the vicinity is very convenient. We aren’t too far from where we do our weekly shop and we are only a short drive away from open spaces to take our children to. A negative is that parking for visitors is limited which causes an issue on birthdays etc. Also, we have been in our home for over a year now and we are still to have our road finished.

How has the building management responded to any problems or issues you have raised:

Some issues have been dealt with promptly and as we expected them to be; however, others have been pushed aside or we have been told that they meet NHBC standards and that they won’t be resolved. It has been hit and miss, and I still get frustrated at the poor finish of some of our home.

Please share one thing (or more) which you wish you had known before you moved in:

I wish we knew what to look for when snagging. Story said they would not accept a list from a professional snagger, but I wish we had hired one regardless. Address any poor finishes as soon as possible, and before you do your survey.
