Please tell us about the good and bad aspects of living in your local area:
The building is really nice, every member of staff is lovely and will go above and beyond for you. Super close to the city center with spinningfields being a 5 min walk away, there is there is a wait for parking
How has the building management responded to any problems or issues you have raised:
They where always super helpful proactive and did anything they could to help. It is refreshing compared to other buildings in the city
Please share one thing (or more) which you wish you had known before you moved in:
There was a waiting list for parking unsure if this is still the case but there are some council car parks nearby which will save you money compared to the bigger car parks nearby

Construction works ongoing nearby can be very disruptive. Not sure if all developments are part of the Considerate Constructors Scheme, but if they are I'm not convinced they are operating to the Code.
How has the building management responded to any problems or issues you have raised:
I've not been impressed by the management's approach to handling queries. In a recent interaction, I distinctly did not feel that they appreciated that day to day they handle administrative matters that exist for them only on email, but the practical impacts affect residents in their homes - and that's were their customer service focus should kick into effect (but doesn't).

I really wish I could go back and tell myself to read all the reviews before making up my mind!

Hi Rhona, Thank you for taking the time to share your feedback. We are genuinely sorry to hear that your experience led you to leave a 1-star review. We understand the importance of maintaining safe, secure, and well managed homes. While we have processes in place for handling emergencies and maintenance requests, we acknowledge that there may be times when we don't quite get it right. When that happens, we’re committed to learning, improving, and retraining our team where necessary. Since the change in management, we’ve introduced a resident suggestion box in the amenity space to better understand what matters most to our community. We do review this weekly, and any recurring theme, such as a desire for a more diverse event, are taken on-board and implemented. Our Sip & Paint event was introduced after multiple resident requests, and we are excited to see these RSVPs sold out within 2 days. We will of course always ensure we have non-alcoholic options available at our events, like we did when hosted Fizz Friday. We were disappointed to find that the poster you mentioned has since been vandalized. Resident engagement remains a top priority, and we’re excited to welcome a new team member in September who will focus solely on improving this. An annual events planner is already underway, and we’ll continue to welcome feedback and ideas from our residents. We're sorry to hear that the Private Dining Room didn’t meet expectations during your booking. While our housekeeping team works hard to keep our shared spaces clean and tidy, we do also rely on residents to help maintain these areas and report any issues after use. We always encourage residents to flag concerns with us directly so we can act quickly. We acknowledge the historical issues with one of the lifts. Since taking over management, we’ve implemented monthly servicing and arranged for several repairs, including replacement belts. We hope by investing in new parts, in the long term, this will reduce the number of times the lift is out of service. Finally, we take your comments about our luxury offering on-board. We are actively working to ensure this standard is reflected in every aspect of life at The Slate Yard. We have some exciting plans underway, and we are looking forward to sharing our news with our community in due course. We would always welcome the opportunity to speak to our residents in-person so we can better understand any concerns and work together to improve your experience. The location works really good for me being close to local shops, restaurants, transportation etc but also being in a quiet area
How has the building management responded to any problems or issues you have raised:
i can say that during the time to renew my contract even though some changes were unexpected and not good for me they constantly supported during the process to meet in the middle ground and keep me informed
Please share one thing (or more) which you wish you had known before you moved in:
Cost of electricity, things in the apartment are consuming too much energy(hob, oven, water heater, heater)

Please tell us about the good and bad aspects of living in your local area:
The location is excellent, and we can easily commute to work. We moved in 2020, and a lot has changed in the area. We have Sainsbury and other shops nearby.
How has the building management responded to any problems or issues you have raised:
While the management team has extensive experience with other agents who have transitioned to Allsop, I feel they haven’t taken as much action as they should—especially compared to the service assistance team. That said, apart from the Service team, I’ve known Andrea and Jordan for five years and must say they’re excellent and very helpful. I’m genuinely pleased they made the move from former agent to Allsop.

The BTR building management team should take a more active role in assisting residents with their requests and responding to reported issues
