It offers 192 new apartments with a mix of one, two and three bedroom apartments.  As well as this, development is pet-friendly and residents have access to an onsite team with 24/7 CCTV security. Furthermore residents can benefit from secure bike storage and private balconies with views over the Chatham Docks.

Brand new building with a modern stylish design. Everything you could possibly need: bike racks, secure parcel room, secure mailbox, super-fast broadband, great building security, a great on-site team. The buildings are cleaned regularly so they’re always spotlessly clean. A lovely roof-top garden where you can sit and enjoy the views of the water (and weather!) as well as a communal sitting room (again with great views of the water ) if you fancy getting away from things for an hour or two. Over all, I’m really impressed with and more than happy to be living at The Kell.

Walking distance to a local supermarket (Asda), pub and a stones throw away from a large shopping centre with various restaurants, etc. (Dockside). Great transport links into London either by train or car.

Please share one thing (or more) which you wish you had known before you moved in:

I was informed of everything from the moment I viewed the property and was kept up-to-date throughout the application process.

How has the building management responded to any problems or issues you have raised:

Susan, Patricia and the rest of building management team are excellent. Always willing to help, friendly and super-fast to respond to any queries or issues I’ve had. If the powers that be read these reviews: keep hold of them; they’re golden and in my opinion, a massive credit to your organisation!

Nice but disappointing

Fairly new, modern development. Major construction site and noise next door. Nice communal spaces. But workmanship and finishes aren’t great. Feels a bit like a hotel, so not terribly welcoming. The area is industrial, so long walk/short drive to local shops and stain apart from Asda, which is at least within walking distance.

Please tell us what you like and dislike about this area:

Nice enough apartment block with decent facilities and WiFi included. But construction noise that started a week after in I moved is awful. Starting at 7am and often overrunning beyond 6pm, Mondays to Fridays. The construction will obscure lovely view of The Medway from one of the buildings. There’s also no on-site parking spaces available with a long waiting list. The nearby public car park is expensive and dusty because of construction. Thin ceilings means you can hear people walking up and down in flat above. Also no 6-month break clause to tenancy and no smoking on balconies even though occupants of development next door are allowed to. Big Asda next door is good. But awful smell in lifts and alarm going off constantly in lobby. Air circulation filters were filthy with cement dust from construction and LED bulbs failed within a month of moving in, yet Management expect you to for the bill for replacements.

Friendly maintenance, but only on site once a week.

It is a lovely place to live in.

It’s a new building and it’s quite normal that there are some minor issues. The most important things is that the team is always ready to help. Whenever I had any issues the team took care of it very quickly. Design in sitting room area and in the flats is amazing. Very well taken care of.

I have been a resident in The Kell for the last 6 months. I have been very happy with the management team. They are extremely kind and helpful. The environment is quite nice. It takes 18 minutes from the residence to Gillingham train station by foot and the train to London Victoria takes 45 minutes. The biggest shopping center Asda is in 2 minutes walking distance.

I have been very well informed about simply everything about the building and the area.

How has the building management responded to any problems or issues you have raised:

Their response was extremely quick. Team is very friendly and kind. They made me feel secure, comfortable and I think I could simply compare my experience to a 5 star hotel.

New unit I moved into and meets all my needs. Connecting to the electricity provider proved difficult because there was payment outstanding from the previous tenant although I was told I was the first person that lived in this apartment. Utilita the provider is expensive and got a quote £497.00 per year cheaper but the move was blocked due to past outstanding payments by the previous tenant. Resolved after a few attempts but delayed moving the electricity to a cheaper provider. Wi-Fi is good and the reception staff (Susi and Patricia) are very helpful and accommodating and that is a plus.

No public or visitor parking and the parking at the unit all let out to non-residance and have to park in a paid parking away from the unit. The parking charge is extra over rent and expensive.

Please share one thing (or more) which you wish you had known before you moved in:

Parking was extra and I had to wait 4 – 6 weeks on a waiting list before any parking was available at the unit.

Only a few questions were asked but the response has been very good

Love living at the Kell

This is such a beautiful place to live. It has amazing views over the river and a fantastic roof terrace. The staff here are always smiling and happy to help. It is always clean and quiet. We love living here

The layout of the building is great. The building & the rooms all look brand spanking new & views are amazing. I have not been here too long to judge but from what I hear from other residents it sounds promising. I look forward to see what the Kell & the area have to offer

Parking is quite okay around the area, shame all the parking spaces has gone though. Beautiful views, live near docks so will be noisy but love it nonetheless

Price, layout & square feet of apartments as it would make choosing apartments much easier

Yes but I still have a few that are pending but I’m sure that’ll be handled quickly & efficiently

Firstly, I would like to compliment the on site team in the The Kell South building. I have found the team friendly, informative, responsive and very supportive. I like the fact that both positive and constructive negative comments are taken the same. The apartment itself is well designed in my opinion, modern and all is very good. I like the parking being contained in a complex environment and the allocated parking space approach. The building is very secure and I like the secure postal and parcel areas. Overall impressed!

Please tell us what you like and dislike about this area:

Personally the location is fine as I moved into the area 5 years ago from purely a work perspective. It’s early days so I don’t really have any negatives about the area per se. My only comment would be as with any property that hosts multiple abodes, you cannot account for individuals and how they treat the facilities. Such as those with pets not controlling their pets and fouling on carpets!

I wish I had known more about the network arrangements I.e. WiFi etc.

We are extremely happy with our apartment, the Morden deign of our building and the layout of our apartment. We wouldn’t change this. Our apartment seems to be cleaned on a regular basis and we have not found any faults. Our reception team are always extremely healthy

Our location is perfect for shops/ gyms : supermarkets and restaurants. We aren’t far from historic landmarks so there’s always things to do.

The only bad thing is the lack of visitor parking.

The fact the building is non smoking

The reception team have helped on any occasion we have requested. They let our sky man in to fit the sky

i could not fault the Natasha and Susan, any troubles or any queries were sorted instantly. They are welcoming they followed up any issues with phone calls they went out of their way to make it a welcoming hone environment. They provided an amazing services and i’d highly recommend them.

The design is lovely with high thought given to the security of the tenants with fob access being required to enter the building and operate the lifts making me feel safe and secure. The staff, particularly Natasha and Susan have been great help and have gone the extra mile to help us feel settled and move in. I could not recommend the place anymore.

Within reach of asda, the Mast and Rigging, right by train stations, bus stations and we are lucky enough to get parking spaces.

Information about the utilities as It would help organise before moving in.

We love the design and layout of the Kell building it self from the modern feel in the apartment to the almost holiday vibe you get from standing in the roof garden, it ticks all the boxes you need to feel right at home. The building it self is always kept clean and always has a fresh smell to it, the staff are always friendly and helpful especially the staff at reception and if there is any problems at all that we have the staff at reception always try there best to help out.

Everything about living in this location is perfect for us, from local shopping and transportation to the stunning views of the docks if I had to pick holes the only thing I would possibly change is there is no parking for family and friends to park in to visit

I wish I new before I moved in that there was no places for friends and family to park when visiting but it doesn’t put me off living here

I have already had to raise a few issues with the team here at the Kell and they have been so helpful and very prompt with getting back to me by email
