Happy but also disappointed!

The design of the redrow houses are very good. Well built and good finishes. We had a few snags that were mainly sorted out by the property management . But we were not very happy with the quality of the top soil in garden, it was very poor. All our local neighbours had similar feelings. We felt let down by the property management when they didn’t sort out front garden, it has taken months to get their support. In the end we sorted the problems ourselves then was told they couldn’t do anything because we had done it.

Please tell us what you like and dislike about this area:

Area is good. Lots of nice walks and cycle paths. Plenty of shops but not really within walking distance. Couple of decent pubs but again about a mile walk.

Please share one thing (or more) which you wish you had known before you moved in:

Better communication and support from after sales team.

If there is one thing you would change about your flat or property what would it be:

There is no landlord on this estate! They are private houses. There is only the management company.

Nice development in a good location

We love the design of the Redrow Homes. The development itself benefits from a substantial amount of visitor parking which is valuable as parking usually an issue on new build developments.

As the development is still under construction the play area is yet to be provided but there are alternatives nearby.

Location is great with plenty of footpaths nearby for walks, bike rides etc.

Please tell us what you like and dislike about this area:

Well located development, close to shops and local amenities including Great Sankey Neighbourhood Hub. Very good transport links nearby.

Please share one thing (or more) which you wish you had known before you moved in:

Ensure they resolve snags immediately when they have an appetite for doing so. Leave it too long and more people will move in leaving you down the pecking order

How has the building management responded to any problems or issues you have raised:

Poorly. They do not communicate and are too slow in resolving snags

Spacious and a cause for envy

A beautiful development sandwiched between (now) 3 others which every time we walk through them, highlight just how nice, well spaced and roomy ours is. Love the sense of space and individuality, whilst all tied together with a countryside theme.

Please tell us what you like and dislike about this area:

Love the number of walks from our doorstep.

Please share one thing (or more) which you wish you had known before you moved in:

Pay for downlighting!

How has the building management responded to any problems or issues you have raised:

Speedy at the start with the smaller things, but we are still waiting for some work after 18 months

Great design, beautiful houses, well thought out development

Verified Resident

Review Date Jan 2021

Design of the development is good, houses look beautiful and it’s nice and spacious. I like the additional parking bays too, they are very helpful.
I am looking forward to having a play park on the development although I’m not sure where that is due to go but that will be great for the children on the development.

Please tell us what you like and dislike about this area:

Everything is close by but it would be nice to have a pub within walking distance. Transport links are good being close to the motorway.

Please share one thing (or more) which you wish you had known before you moved in:

I feel like we were provided with all relevant information prior to moving in.

What is the best feature of your home:

The design of the house giving plenty of storage space – alcoves in 2 of 3 bedrooms ready for wardrobes.

Redrow Apartment block

Review Date Jan 2021

we live in a redrow apartment block and the design features definitely stand out from any other apartment. really good interior, which includes fridge/freezer, oven, hob and washer dryer aswell. love how the washer/dryer has its own room so not kept in the kitchen. Building management isn’t great, this could be improved seeing as we pay for a maintenance fee.

Please tell us what you like and dislike about this area:

really nice area, with a duck pond close by. good access for shops and the motorway.

Please share one thing (or more) which you wish you had known before you moved in:

Nothing, we knew everything.

If there is one thing you would change about your flat or property what would it be:

Price of the maintenance and noise. we signed a contract stating that you can’t make noise after a certain time however we complained about our neighbours above us having a 12 hour party until 3am and redrow said that its okay and they can’t do anything about it, so there’s no point having a policy if you can’t stick to it.

Excellent houses and location but attitude of builders could be improved

Verified Resident
Verified Resident
Review Date Jan 2021

Design of the houses is excellent good storage and excellent layout to make a small house feel larger and roomy.

The building management could be improved as have experienced problems with the attitude of builders and being blocked from entering my own road on numerous occasions

Yeah he property management company have taken £150 from me now and no works have been completed to date so this is very disappointing when the still demand to be paid for no works

Please tell us what you like and dislike about this area:

Excellent area with plenty of amenities and shops and schools

Please share one thing (or more) which you wish you had known before you moved in:

That the builders would begin to become more difficult and that we would be stopped and guest wouldn’t be allowed in the estate without a valid reason

What is the best feature of your home:

The storage available and the fact all bedrooms are en-suite

First experience of a new build.

Verified Resident
Verified Resident
Review Date Jan 2021

It’s still being built so we don’t have a final opinion, however, from the design there is a lack of green space/play areas. The design of the estate has changed since we’ve bought our house. There was originally more of the same sized house we bought, however this has now changed in favour of larger houses which is a shame as it can discourage potential buying demographics. The building management hasn’t been the best. Few snagging issues that have taken over a year to fix (part due to covid, part due to customer care team being unresponsive).

Please tell us what you like and dislike about this area:

We like how near we are to schools so we aren’t backed onto. No shop within walking distance or restaurants. No play area on estate

Please share one thing (or more) which you wish you had known before you moved in:

Wish we’d have known how hard it would have been to do the garden.

If there is one thing you would change about your flat or property what would it be:

The design of the house would include a path down the drive insted of having to ask for one. Would have had the garden and fencing included.

Taylor’s Chase Development is the ideal location for a family or a couple.

Verified Resident

Review Date Jan 2021

The design of Redrow homes are exceptional. They are distinctive in their design and the development has a range of properties to suit different size families including 2, 3 or 4 bedroom homes. Our home is a 4 bedroom called the Oxford, the design we love as well as the layout which is perfect for our needs, it’s not too big and not too small. Easy to manage with both front and rear gardens. The Stratford property is also a 4 bedroom home but we preferred the Oxford because of its style and layout.
The management team whilst under alot of pressure due to the pandemic have been good and have helped us through with various issues which you can expect in any new build property. We have been fortunate that many of the issues were small and not related to the build itself.

Please tell us what you like and dislike about this area:

What I like about this development is the location and the varied types of properties which compliment each other. The location is close to Chapelford railway station as well as the M62 motorway linking to M6. The two main supermarkets Asda being just over a mile and virtually next door to Odean cinema and Sainsburys just under a mile are easy to get to by car, bycyle or by foot. Odean
Within 10 min by car there is the Gemini retail park which is home to Ikea, M&S and Next. Mcdonalds is also located close to M&S.
There are three local primary schools, the closest ones being Barrow Hall and Park Road Community Primary school. Great Sankey Primary School is just over 1 mile. Also Great Sankey High School is only 0.3 miles from this development
There are three local Medical and Health centres in close proximity. the closest being Chapelford Medical Centre (0.7 miles from the development). Westbrook Medical Centre is 1 mile and Great Sankey Health Centre is just over a mile at 1.3 miles.
For food lovers Frankie & Benny’s is only 1.1 mile and Bombay 8 Indian restaurant is 1.1 miles on Charon Way. Gemini retail Park.

Please share one thing (or more) which you wish you had known before you moved in:

I would suggest that when you move into a new property, take your time and think things through before carpeting and furnishing your home. A new build property will show up snags at some point due to movement in timber etc. in addtion you may want to change some aspects of your home like taking out an ensuite and replacing with a walk in wardrobe or you may want to bring changes to your kitchen etc.
Thinking things through rather than jumping in just because its a new home is far better than fixing things like creaking floors or water leaks after decorating, carpeting and furnishing the entire house.
We have been in our Oxford house for almost two years and only now are we at the stage of carpeting our bedrooms. This is not due to lack of money but more to do with some changes we brought inside the house eg. taking out the ensuite and replacing the bath with a large shower tray, tiling to our taste, installing a log burner etc

What is the best feature of your home:

I cannot think of one feature as being the best. Instead I would say the entire property is well designed and looks beautiful.

Great location

Verified Resident
Verified Resident
Review Date Jan 2021

The redrow development is well designed, and in a great location. The houses are beautiful both inside and out. Some snags when moving in however most were dealt with promptly. Sales team were helpful and kept us informed throughout the process, even when the build was delayed.

Please tell us what you like and dislike about this area:

Close to shops, schools and parks and has great transport links. Train station within walking distance and close to motorways.

Please share one thing (or more) which you wish you had known before you moved in:

The garden does not come ready for turf, had a lot of rubble, broken bricks etc that all needed removing before we were able to lay our own turf.

If there is one thing you would change about your flat or property what would it be:

Road still not finished 18 months after moving in so really difficult to get pram up and down off the path.

The Oaks / Taylor’s Chase

Verified Resident
Verified Resident
Review Date Jan 2021

The layout of the development is really good and the types of houses. it’s also close to motorway. We don’t have much local shops in walking distant and we don’t have a playground yet on the development – we are aware that there is further building to be done which will enhance the site even more. We found that the landscape of the properties, ours included was really poor – in fact, the landscaping of the construction site entrance has had more care put into it.

Please tell us what you like and dislike about this area:

We like the feel of neighbourhood and the different styles of houses –

Please share one thing (or more) which you wish you had known before you moved in:

That the quality of landscaping would be so poor – this would have allowed us more budget planning to spend on redoing – more of an understanding of the new ventilation system that’s installed. More detailed of why a service charge is applied when there is no pavement, no playground and the site isn’t finished?!

If there is one thing you would change about your flat or property what would it be:

Have more renewable energy install such as solar panels, heat pump and that the gardens are done properly as opposed to just chucked down with very little care
