We believe the best information about a residential development comes from the people living there. Owners and tenants have a lot of useful information to share with their prospective neighbours, not just on the property itself and its locality, but also on the developer and the building’s management.

Silver Works is a residential development from Galliard Homes, previously used during the First World War by the Royal Air Force. Today, it’s a collection of apartments, suites and townhouses, all in a central location in the North London ‘opportunity area’ of Colindale. Colindale tube station, serviced by the Northern line, is close to the development, as is the M1, the A41 and the Brent Cross shopping mall.

The development has defects but still till this day its not resolved, the materials used in the houses are poor quality, in summer the house are unbelievable hot, especially on third floor it's too hot, they say it cool in summer and warm in winter, that's not true, the garden is no use as there is a hill and no grass except dirt, the heating cost is too much its making people struggle and the cost was too high before energy prices went up, so you can imagine how expensive it must me now, and as its a communal boiler your stuck with the cost, from outside it may look nice, but from inside you see the poor quality work and materials used.

Housing association quality is poor, low equality materials us compared to bought house, heating very expensive compared to buying houses on a normal road, garden has up hills so kids can't even play, it costed a neighbour £5000 to make the garden flat

The building is still looking good after almost three years of living here. We like the design of it and how well is it maintained. The only thing that I still don't like is the fact that balconies leak rain and that windows can be open very little. In the summer months that is a huge problem because you cannot get any air in your bedroom.

I really like the design of the building, the entry is quite nice with framed photos and nice carpeting that is regulary cleaned. Elevators work great and they're never out of order. We didn't have any problems that required help from the management but I think they are doing a great job, taking care of trees and grass around the buildings.

The apartments really nice and the surrounding development is also well kept and safe. My apartment is spacious, comfy and comes with a balcony. I moved in new with some delay but had no issues with quality, with all facilities being in top condition. A good mixture of council and private tenants which makes diversity. Good management with all my problems sorted in reasonable time.
