Long Acres, by Shanly Homes, sits in Watford, on the outskirts of London. Comprising of 107 townhouses, residents here benefit from resident parking, private gardens and the beautiful Hertfordshire countryside. As well as this, the development is only 17-miles from Central London, making it a prime location for commuters.

Write a ReviewUpload PhotosGreat location but some improvements
The building Lucas Court has a great design, I particularly like the roof terrace. The building itself looks very modern. Unfortunately there are repairs ongoing as there is a leak in the basement which is disappointing.
Improvements includes having more visitors parking. There is an area of artificial grass in the car park which has no use and therefore could be made into more visitor parking which is extremely difficult to find. It makes sense to have parking permits for residents and for visitors because otherwise anyone from the nearby area can park in the visitors spot.

I really like the area. Lot’s of amenities nearby. Great transport links.
Please share one thing (or more) which you wish you had known before you moved in:
I think everything was made clear and transparent before I moved in. It is a really lovely area and the residents in the building are friendly.
What is the best feature of your home:
I really like having a balcony which gives me some outdoor space
Good Quality Construction and Best Location
Building and Construction – Very Good
Property management is Poor
No Major problems when we moved in. Property prices are premium because of the accessibility to grammer schools and tube station. Watford Junction is little far from this place. Underground Watford station connection with the Watford Junction is essential. This was unfortunately not approved. Rembrandt House is a nuisance as always and not enough parking spaces available for the property. Which is a shame.

This is best location for residential and with grammer schools near by it cannot get any better.
Parking is a BIG problem and security is a concern.
Please share one thing (or more) which you wish you had known before you moved in:
Nothing
How has the building management responded to any problems or issues you have raised:
Mostly delayed response. Unsatisfactory. Phone calls were not answered as always and response take many days to attend and resolve any problems. My property was not fully wired before it was handed over. None of the telephone sockets work in my house.
Happy neighbourhood
Decent property managers. Visitors car parking for plenty of cars, also some on street parking available.
Green areas are great in summer.
Safe and locked bike storage.
The general area is clean, quiet and private.
Neighbours are friendly and helpful

Close to tube and bus stops. Main line is 30 minute walk away.
Walk to town centre in 15 mins is great.
Close to small shops to pick up small items. Cassiobury Park is brilliant and close enough for a nice walk through Ebury Way or along canal towpath.
Lots of running and cycling routes.
All main supermarkets are in the town from 2020!

The roof space in our building is amazing and a bit of a secret hideaway!!!orio
What is the best feature of your home:
The flat I live in has lots of windows, it’s spacious and bright.
Overall good
There is a bin shed and visitors parking. Overall, the design is good but the slope in the garden could be removed. Property is managed but not frequently enough with window cleaning and grass cutting. There’s not much building management after the first few years.

Good area and good schools. Very convenient transport links.
Please share one thing (or more) which you wish you had known before you moved in:
Check out all the near by schools and transport links before.
How has the building management responded to any problems or issues you have raised:
Have responded and come by to check out whatever issues.
Overall, very decent.
There is some propert management like lawn mowing and window cleaning but it doesn’t happen regularly enough. Design of the building is very good and the quality of construction is high. Some facilities like bin sheds are provided but they aren’t maintenained very well.

Good area with lots of high schools and primary schools within walking distance. Transport links are 10 minute walk maximum and there are many facilities and the town centre within 20 minutes walk.
Please share one thing (or more) which you wish you had known before you moved in:
Look at all the schools in the area as well as the transport links.
If there is one thing you would change about your flat or property what would it be:
The garden could be a little bigger and not built on such a slope.
Great but still needs improvement
It is great development in terms of build wise – love the fact that the kitchen is separate from the living room, gives a bigger living room space.
2 x balconies is also a great touch
The free space parking is never free and a new process needs to be action’d

Long acres – excellent development
The development is well maintained with a good community of occupants. The design comprises of houses and apartments which works well for the development. The building management has recently changed and they are doing a good job of improving facilities on the development such as visitor parking. Overall, very happy living on this private development.

If there is one thing you would change about your flat or property what would it be:
It would be better if there more availability of visitor parking.
3 years living here
No play spaces or community facilities. Parking is restrictive, management company very hands off. Not energy efficient, design is basic. Not a lot of storage available no gate on Rembrandt Way causing strangers to come and park in the development. Also the communal bins are regularly broken into

Downstairs was so cold. Flooring was not part of the purchase
If there is one thing you would change about your flat or property what would it be:
Move the kitchen downstairs in place of the garage
Good place to live fantastic for commuters
Great place to live. The buildings are well designed and sophisticated. The surrounding areas are inviting. Since the new management came on board issues are resolved quickly and they keep residents updated.

Weldon Court
The buildings are well designed and feel luxurious. The management company are responsive when there is a problem or a query. The area and buildings are well maintained and kept clean and tidy. The only downside is the lack of visitor parking available.
