Please tell us about the good and bad aspects of living in your local area:

Property is right by Leith Walk. Amazing range of shops, restaurants and shopping centre all within walking distance. Transport within a 5 minute walk too. Street is residential and quiet, but steps away from the city life. Excellent location.

How has the building management responded to any problems or issues you have raised:

Promptly and kindly. I was never let down so far. Everyone is ready to help.

Please share one thing (or more) which you wish you had known before you moved in:

Nothing really. My stay is exactly as I had expected it as it is as it’s presented.

Please tell us about the good and bad aspects of living in your local area:

Broughton is a great place to live, with St Marks park and the water of Leith walk right around the corner. There are plenty of great pubs and restaurants, as well as fantastic charity shops and a great range of supermarkets, including a Lidl and large Tesco. The tram line is just down the road, which is another bonus.

How has the building management responded to any problems or issues you have raised:

Always responded really quickly and efficiently. The property was kept very clean and everyone from the team was super friendly and helpful.

Please share one thing (or more) which you wish you had known before you moved in:

The electricity costs were horrendous, considering the small size of the flat

Please tell us about the good and bad aspects of living in your local area:

Kingsford Residence is a modern and well-maintained place to live, with friendly staff and quick maintenance support. The apartments are generally clean and well-equipped. although the rooms feel a bit small they do have a nice mezzanine design. The local area is convenient, with supermarkets, small shops, and a few good restaurants nearby, plus access to green spaces for walks. Transport links are reliable, with buses and easy routes into the city, though it can get slightly noisy during the day due to the nearby school. I didn’t notice any noticeable traffic noise which is great. Overall the area feels safe and fairly quiet in the evenings.

How has the building management responded to any problems or issues you have raised:

Yes. I had an issue with a water leak from the shower and requested for some furniture to be removed. They responded in a timely manner snd have been really helpful

Please share one thing (or more) which you wish you had known before you moved in:

The level of noise from the school during the day. I expected it to be a bit noisy but it’s more than I expected at times. The electricity bill and the fixed charge were higher than expected

Well-Located, Practical Living with Reliable Management

Please tell us about the good and bad aspects of living in your local area:

Living in this part of Edinburgh offers a good mix of convenience and character. There are plenty of local shops nearby, including supermarkets and independent stores along Leith Walk, as well as a wide variety of restaurants, cafés, and bars catering to different tastes. The area feels lively without being overwhelming. One of the biggest advantages is access to green spaces, with places like Holyrood Park within easy reach, which is great for walking and outdoor activities. Transport links are excellent, with frequent buses and the nearby tram line providing easy access to the city centre and the airport. However, buses can occasionally be delayed during peak times, and traffic congestion can be an issue on main roads. On the street itself, parking can be limited and may require a permit, especially in busy periods. Bin collections are generally regular and reliable. The area is usually safe, though there can be some noise from traffic and occasional late-night activity given its central location.

How has the building management responded to any problems or issues you have raised:

Building management has generally been responsive and helpful. Most issues are acknowledged promptly and resolved within a reasonable timeframe, although less urgent matters can sometimes take a bit longer to be addressed.

Please share one thing (or more) which you wish you had known before you moved in:

One thing I wish I had known before moving in is that parking can be quite limited, especially during evenings and weekends, so having a permit or planning ahead is important. It’s also worth noting that while the area is lively and convenient, there can be occasional noise from traffic and nearby activity. On the positive side, I didn’t fully appreciate how well-connected the area is until living here, with great access to public transport and plenty of shops, cafés, and amenities within walking distance.

Please tell us about the good and bad aspects of living in your local area:

We’re close to a larger Tesco which covers daily needs, with a few corner shops close by as well. The area also has a few really nice restaurants, and being so close to the Water of Leith offers great opportunities for a stroll or jog. While it can get a bit noisy during school hours the weekends are very quiet in contrasts. The city is easily accessible via various public transports, and it’s overall a very safe neighbourhood.

How has the building management responded to any problems or issues you have raised:

They always respond promptly and provide an immediate solution.

Please share one thing (or more) which you wish you had known before you moved in:

Since I moved in before the pandemic and initially went out to work every day I didn’t realise that recess time can get a bit loud - overall not a big issue though.
